[Q] HTC One X 3.14.771.34 RUU? - HTC One X

Hello
My friend bricked his HTC One X by formatting /system/ in CWM. Now I am trying to restore his phone. I relocked bootloader and flashed stock recovery. Now I need an RUU.
When I type fastboot getvar version-main it shows the version as 3.14.771.34 Can someone tell me which RUU should I download?
Thanks for your help!

I also have CM10 zip file but I can not push it to his SD card because adb does not detect the phone.

There is no RUU with that version ! Go here and download and restore the nandroid backup
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927048
Unlock the phone and flash the custom recovery back, then mount the sdcard as a mass storage device and copy the backup over. Flash the boot.img and perform a full wipe in the recovery and restore the nandroid.

Can you please give me the custom recovery img file so that I can mount SD card in recovery mode?

sure
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819

I already flashed this one but when I mount USB storage, nothing happens

strange....mounted as usb storage in the mounts & storage menu (last option?) otherwise try the latest TWRP ....

Yes, I did that! Link to TWRP please? Is it flashable from fastboot?

yes it is...like a normal recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622925
but strange that it is not recognized by the pc ! did you reboot the pc once....just to refresh

Yes, I did. I will try this and come back here. Thanks

I restored the nandroid backup but the phone stays on HTC logo. I browsed the files using Aroma File manager in CWM and I saw that there is no app folder in /system/ It has only bin folder. What should I do? Please note that the bootloader is unlocked.
Thanks

Did you flashed the boot.img from the nandroid ? Redownload the nandroid maybe, check the thread if anything is said about it ?

Help me recover HTC One X

I've searched for 3 hours and nothing helped so:
I have an international HTC One X Unlocked on HTCDev with S-ON :
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-0.95.000
CID: HTC__032
MID: PJ4610000
I have installed ClockworkMod 5.8.4.0 and made a backup recovery 2 days ago from it before doing anything else.
and accidentally today i did these commands:
Wipe battery stats
Wipe Dalvik cache
wipe data/factory reset
and
format /cache
format /data
format /sdcard
format /system
Of course... after rebooting... NO MORE OS BOOT UP , it gets stuck at HTC Brilliant screen and stays forever.
First thing I did was to try to flash RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.11_Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260491_signed.exe
didn't work! it says UNKNOWN ERROR (i think not the os it wants)
then i copied all the backup folders from my computer (the backup that i've made 2 days ago) on the sdcard partition which i can accesss from clockworkmod by mounting usb (and of course it was totally empty)
didn't wirk either.
How cand i put back my OS while I still have access to sdcard, bootloader and clockwork mod.
Please help me, I'm a dummy!
Can you put your back up of nandroid to internal sd card of phone?

if you know what you are doing with explorer then you just need to drop the folder 2012-07-26.05.13.13 in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
then restore your backup in recovery
i assume if you have done "format /sdcard and /system" then wondering why your phone wont boot, you are a dummy so i will write a dummy guide for you
yeah, formatting /system is why it wont boot anymore
here are the things you need to do to get booting again
reboot into recovery
click on "mounts and storage"
click on "mount USB storage" at bottom
plug your phone into PC via USB cable
open up computer (assuming Windows) and open up your now blank /SDCARD
make a folder called "clockworkmod" (without quotes)
open this folder then make another one inside it called "backup"
copy your 2012-07-26.05.13.13 folder from your PC to the "backup" folder
click on "Unmount" on your phone
click on "+++++Go Back+++++"
click on "backup and restore"
click on "restore"
click on "2012-07-26.05.13.13"
click on "Yes - Restore"
once complete you should be fine and dandy again
I don't know what did you erase but inside zip you have boot.img which if you deleted somehow boot.img you can flash through adb shell. Don't ask me I don't know correct command line, but you can extract it and flash itbthrough phone. I will look for exact path for recovery zip file because i have root and nandroid back up and in next post I will give you my path.

THANK YOU. especially for your patience. I got somehow desperate and didn't know how to do correctly these steps

Ok, so I know I take first prize for noob/dummy of the year but I'm really hoping someone cane help.
I recently rooted my one x and tried to install Android Revolution custom rom. Got stuck in a bootloop. Managed to then flash Cyanogenmod 9 (trip's version) however had issues with bluetooth not working and random reboots. Thought i'd give Android revolution a go again but got stuck in bootloop.....again!!! So...in all my (lack of) infinite wisdom, I booted into recovery and proceeded to format everything thinking I could just drop Leedroid's rom onto the sd card and flash it from recovery.
Whilst I thought this would work, I now have no access to the sd card. I tried mounting usb mass storage and the sdcard in recovery so I could just drag and drop it frrom windows but got the following error "E: Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or di
So, after reading through some other threads, I discovered that you could just push the zip file using adb, however, when trying this I get the error: device not found.
When launching fastboot I get
SD Checking
Failed to open usb Master mode
Failed to open usb Master mode
loading HTCUpdatezipName image
Failed to open usb Master mode
Please plug off USB
Hope someone out there can help.

Do you have the latst Recovery? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
If not, update to latest recovery and try to mount USB storage again.
Also you can try to use adb while you have the phone in recovery mode, not fastboot or hboot.
And, did you remember to flash the boot.img from fast boot after reflasnig the ROM? if not, that that is causing the bootloops.

wow, thankyou so much.
That was a relatively easy solution and got be back in the game baby!!!
BTW I gotta say, I was pretty happy with my one x before but now... I think i'm in love.
Sorry if this is off topic but was unsure where else to post. Had issues with random rebooting after certain apps launched so scrapped leedroid and tried out modaco. All seemed fine but then I was getting a reboot every time I tried to access (play, set as a ring tone or even just play) mp3's so I did a full wipe reflash of Leedroid and the same thing happens, full reboot when tying to do anything with MP3s
please help

Here is an alternative way without ruu
1-Mount usb in recovery
2-Copy this rom to sdcard
3-Factory reset
4-Flash rom
4-Start ruu and grab the rom.zip (you can find guides at xda for grabbing rom.zip)
5-Extract boot_signed.img and recovery.img
6-Execute fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img and fastboot flash recovery
recovery.img
7-Reboot and relock the bootloader
and now you don't need ruu and phone works well I tried this myself and it worked
Firstly, thanks for your sugggestion. One question though, won't relocking the bootloader also unroot the phone?

I am in a similar problem with my htc one x. I tried to flash android revolution but recovery would always tell me this;
E:can't open /sdcard/Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_8.0.0,zip
(bad)
Installation aborted
I tried to restore a backup I made from the stock system, but it just reboots shortly after showing the wallpaper. I am a real noob here and I read about updating clockwork, my version is 5.8.2.7. I do not know how to do that since I can't mount usb storage from recovery...
I really would appreciate a guide that even squirrels could follow, please
Just come across this thread, and i would like to say:
ACCIDENTALLY MY ****
There is no way you can format your partitions accidentally lmao
My phone was stuck in bootloop for 4 days. I finally relocked the bootloader and flashed my RUU. Worked perfectly after that

[HELP] Can't install rom

Hi guys,
It seems I have no clue what I'm doing and am very desparate (almost threw phone out the window).
Right now I have CWM recovery but no zip on the card. The phone won't boot any further so I can't upload anything to the SD card. I used this guide as a tip from another forum member > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140&highlight=clockworkmod+recovery
But I do not understand the guide. It does not tell me how I should get a nandroid backup onto the phone, it merely tells me to put the backup on the sd card and use cwm to install it. It also constantly refers to .zip backup files while the nandroid comes in .rar and .tar. So I'm probably missing something, but i've been at it for hours and the more time I spend on this the more lost I get.
Can anybody tell me how I can install a rom through cwm without being able to boot into anything but cwm or flashboot? And if you would be so kind, please explain it to me step by step.. all the guides have thrown me into mazes I can't get out of...
Thanks alot!

mate mount the sd card. there is an option in cwm to mount sd card.
then tranfer the rom.zip to the sd card
take boot.img from rom.zip and put it in fastboot folder.
now install the rom through cwm
boot into fastboot and flash the boot.img
erase cache
your phone should boot fine.
1. Download the latest official CWM recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819 and extract it.
2. Connect your phone to your computer, hold the power+volume down button for 10 seconds. Go to fastboot. Open a cmd windows to the path where your recovery file is. Flash the recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery file>"
3. Download the ROM you want to flash and extract the boot image from the RAR file. Also, place the ROM on the root of your SD card. Open up a cmd window where you extracted the boot image, and then flash it by typing "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
4. Hit hboot. And then hit recovery. You will now go to CWM.
5. Wipe data partition, wipe cache partition and go to advanced and wipe Dalvik cache.
6. Choose install zip from SD card, choose zip from SD card.
7. Choose the RAR file of the ROM.
8. When it flashes it, reboot system. And you're done
---------- Post added at 10:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:51 PM ----------
I'm sorry bro, after you flash boot.img. Head to recovery > mounts and storage > mount USB > and then move the ROM to your SD card. And then flash the ROM.
Hi there,
Thanks alot!
Next issue; md5 mismatch.
Im following these steps to fix the issue:
type in teminal:
Code:
adb shell
# cd /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/Name_of_the_nandbackup_folder
# rm nandroid.md5
# md5sum *img > nandroid.md5
But it doesnt work. The guidelines ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140&highlight=clockworkmod+recovery ) state that I should remove nandroid.md5 but that doesn't exsist. When I do LS I see:
/sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/XDABackup # ls
Stock backup XDA HTC__E11 - Android 4.0.4 sense 4.1 - 2.17.401.2.rar
Stock backup XDA HTC__E11 - Android 4.0.4 sense 4.1 - 2.17.401.2.rar.checksum
I do see that rar checksum thingy, which I can't remove because there are spaces between the words in the filename. The shell tries to remove each individual word as if it were an individual file.
So is it me, or is the ''guide'' wrong? I'm desparate once again.. please help me
Thanks,
Wisse

why are you restoring nandroid backup?
do you want to go back to stock?
why don't you just flash any ICS based rom or cm10/AOKP roms?
All you have to do is download the rom and flash..
and i am sorry i can't help with the nandroid error, I got no idea about it.. wait for some one else to answer.
Hi faiz02,
Thanks for your reply.
I need to revert to stock as it has another issue and requires warranty.
Thank you for your help, but I need to revert stock using nandroid
Cheers

okay then try this link http://htcruu.com/?dir=Endeavor
search for your country specific ruu.
since you trying to restore the nandroid backup of 2.17.401.2
I see there is a ruu available with the same version. 2.17.401.2
download and run the ruu. It will automatically restore your phone to stock.

You've got spaces in the file name. Rename your backup to something sensible (i.e. without spaces) and it should work.

[Q] [Solved] Stuck at HTC One screen after flat battery

[Q] Stuck at HTC One screen after flat battery
Hey guys,
Today my phone went flat, so I put it on charge for a bit, now I can't get it past the htc one (o1/ne) screen.
I'm running the stock Jelly Bean rom, my Cid is HTC__044
I've unlocked bootloader and have the custom Clockwork mod recovery installed and the device is rooted.
I tried restoring from a backup, deleting cache, factory reset.
I think an appropriate RUU may help, but it's pretty much impossible to find one that is downloadable (the filefactory one wont let me due to too many downloads of that file, and one I found on a chinese forum (after signing up and having to reply to the thread) failed to download :/ )
when I run an old RUU it tells me that my version or whatever it is, is 3.14.707.24
I can get into recovery and fastboot easily.
Can someone please help?
I'm going on holiday on the 19th so I really hope I can fix this.
You can restore the matching nandroid backup from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
You will have to do a full wipe ,but it will be working afterwards
Download the backup and put it in the clockworkmod folder of.the sdcard of the phone, copy the boot.img from the backup and flash it with fastboot commands, do a full wipe in recovery and restore the backup !
You can mount the sdcard in recovery as USB disk to copy the backup on to it !

Thanks I adopted your methods and used it on my existing backup which finally got it to boot,
To recap:
flash boot.img from nandroid backup (fastboot)
restore backup from clockwork recovery
wipe data / factory reset
reboot.
Maybe Jelly Bean just isn't ready for my device? I'm a bit worried about it screwing up overseas, because I wont have a computer or much of an internet connection to solve the problem.
Thanks for your help!
No problem, good it's sorted !

[Q] Problem getting back to stock after flashing custom rom

Hi i got a bit of a major problem, i was trying to revert to the stock rom using the tutorial here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714

Rename it to just recovery.img
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
Enter the recovery and go to mounts and storage - mount as mass storage (last option in the list)

Did you use the sdcard 0P6BIMG.zip ruu method to fully convert.
Pull out your external sdcard and put it in another device so you can remove/relocate the "0P6BIMG.zip" file from sdcard.
Now boot to hboot and choose fastboot, now plug your phone in and it should state "fastboot usb" (run your commands again)
