No wifi omega - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guy, I've installed the latest omega rom and the wifi isn't working. I can't activate it. I did a full wipe. Any idea about what could cause this?

radio or maybe kernel issues, one or the other. Have you tried flashing a diff radio and/or kernel? So you did the full wipe yaw but have you tried another rom worst case? I have had odd issues with some roms that I don't come across in forums. Hope this helps

There is a wifi issue thread.
Look for similar problems in that thread.

I looked into that giant thread but the issues seems different.. Anyway, don't even know what's a "radio". The rom I got before worked just fine
Also which kernel should I try? Omega uses XXDMB2

CyanogenMod 7 GPS Issues.

I'be been running cyanogenmod 7 on my Evo and have been experiencing GPS issues from the start. I turn on GPS and open Google maps and it rarely tracks my position correctly. So of course I can't really use the navigation app because of this. When I revert back to my stock rooted rom I don't have this issue. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is there a way to fix this?

Ummm yea. This is one of the biggest issues with cm7 from the start, and it's on the first post of every thread about this rom.

Have you read any of the information about the rom? There are a few things, including the flashing sense rom ##gpsclrx# trick, but most of the time that only helps temporarily. If you want fully working gps, flash a rom other than cm7.
Wow I guess I really missed that point. And I guess videos I have seen incorrectly stated everything works.
Thanks for the answer

4g to 3g

I have tried posting this questions in one of the threads dedicated to a particular ROM, as I thought this would be a ROM feature, but never got an answer.
Is there a way to go back to 3g/edge when 4g seems to be too weak ? There are times when I cannot browse because 4g is too weak but it would not let me manually turn off 4g.
Is this something the ROM has to provide ? If so, has anyone seen such a feature in any ROM ?
Cm10 has a toggle that does that, I'm not sure about stock rom though.

Google Map/GPS Broken

My GPS doesn't lock anymore. I think it may be something with the phone itself because I've tried more than four different ROMS and it searches for GPS/location on all of them.
I am using the latest Pacman AOKP ROM as my daily driver. I tried another GPS app (telnav) and I got an instant lock. I also tried the GPS fix app but that didn't help.
Does any one know what might have gone wrong or have suggestions on how to fix it. Thanks

I had the same weird problem you have. I got it working and it's been fine ever since.
Heres wat I did.
Went to settings > Application manager > ALL > Maps
Cleared Cache
Cleared Data
Uninstalled Updates
Then Unninstalled Maps
Rebooted and installed Maps from the market.
Enabled the GPS
Started navigation and it worked just like it should.
Good Luck!

Does anyone know why this is happening to some people? I didn't do anything different than I normally do when flashing, but for whatever reason my GPS stopped working.

Actually I was in AOKP and then I flashed the latest version of Frosty, but my GPS was working after that. Then I flashed a few different Kernels to see which one worked better. I flashed Ktoonsez first, then Deviant, and finally I settled on Xone Kernel. It was then that I realized my GPS didn't work. So I'm not sure what messed it up.

I have the same issues that you... since install the v10 and my S3 is also slow .. I like the version v10 .. but i had to return to v9.1
Haven't tried any version other than 10, but will give it a shot. Now that I think about it my s3 is kinda slow. Thanks for the idea!

V10 works absolutely flawless for me. I have none of what you mentioned.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Have you read thru the rom thread? If its a rom issue others surely will have reported it.
Otherwise it may have more to do with the flashing method you may have used than with the rom itself.

Whatever issues given in this thread should have been cleared if op or anyone having these issues goes through development section thread and flashes rom correctly as per instructions these issues wouldn't have come
I am using this rom without any of these issues

Just love how ignorant supposed techies point blame instead or correcting the issue. Dont be ignorant.
I wasnt aware of an existing post on this or I wouldnt have asked for help.
I did ask for help and not complaints.
Other than that this is by far not my first time loading roms, I think after the 20th or 30th time I would say I know what im doing. So again save your ignorance for yourself.

Md5 check the download . Try again with a full wipe? I. I'm v10 and have no issues. Usually a clean install will resolve most problems. Good luck.

Only a few problems here!
I've been using Wicked since ICS days with very few problems. Had an issue with Bluetooth that was resolved by wiping and reflashing the ROM back on ICS.
Since switching to Jelly Bean, about the only issue I've had is S Beam and/or Wi-Fi Direct connection/file sharing. In the two cases I've had, a dirty flash has fixed the problem.
Other than that, the ROM has been great for me!
Good Luck!

LMT Stopped working
I have been using Wicked Rom v_9.1 for about three months with NO problems. All of a sudden LMT service stopped working. The pops up. Unfortunately LMT has stopped working. So I see that V10 is out so I Flasj V10 the proper way thinking that would take care of the problem. NOPE same thing happened. Any ideals?

How in GOD'S name do I do that? I was under the impression that when I flashed a new rom that would have cleared out everything.
Its an option during flash. Or boot recovery and factory reset.

Are you restoring data or any backups?
Have you searched in or asked in the rom thread to see if its a common or known issue?
I think someone else had a similar problem. (Isnt lmt related to some app called pie?) If so uninstall and reinstall the app.
Otherwise, try clearing data for lmt and force stop. Then reboot and see if it still acts up.

I'm personally glad you started this thread. Because of my low post count, I can't post in that forum.
I've only been using this rom for a couple days and I love it. The only problem I've had was that I can't seem to get the Awsome Beats to do anything. Changing the settings doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference in sound quality. I know it's not a big deal but I think it would be a cool thing to have since I use my phone to listen to music almost as much as I use it to communicate.
I'll admit that I didn't read through the 1000+ pages but I did do a search of the thread and didn't come up with anything.
Oh, I'm using the stock Samsung music player, Songbird and Pandora to listen to music.
Stock kernal as well.
Hum

I just don't get it partner. I've reinstalled the rom twice. Even flashed a different rom. Same issue. I will continue to look around to find the problem. Thanx for your help

Phone over heating.

Hey,
Wondering if anyone could help me figure out what's going on.
I flashed illusion 4.3 the other day and started noticing the phone over heating while using YouTube which its never done before. Flashed back down to the previous version of illusion 4.2.2 (clean install, clean wipe etc.) And its still over heating where as it didn't on that version before.
I didn't want to post about an older version of the ROM in the illusion thread so that's why I'm here.
I read about undervolting as a solution but I've never done that, I'm wondering if anyone could suggest an app to do that and their settings. Also open to flashing another kernel(I'm on the stock kernel that came with illusion) if that is a possible solution.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks in advance!
