I just want to see if anyone has any information and when android 4.2.2 will be released for our phones officially, I know there are roms that are 4.2.2 but I always have problems with them and I like Touchwiz. So does anyone know or have info on when OTA Touchwiz 4.2.2 will be released?

No one has an exact date and most likely the next ota will be 4.2.1

maybe, if we keep our fingers crossed, sometime after the GN3 is released. Anytime before that would be wishful thinking

AT&T leaked several ICS builds to the Galaxy SII Skyrocket community before finally rolling it out.
I'd be surprised to see it rolled out officially before doing something similar with the GSIII.

As for the article, I doubt that the NA SGS3's will get 4.1.2 from Samsung since they've been releasing 4.1.1 around the world.

I think he might be assuming that because it is usually the case with these things. International gets all updates first, if we ever get them at all

Yep that's what usually happens. International versions get it first. Samsung can just push the update to those devices. However, for the US versions, the carrier gets the update from samsung and "tweaks" it... Basically making sure it works with their networks and adding the carrier bloatware.

Every time Sprint releases firmware upgrades they take the old firmware and put it in a blender. Breaking all the learned and established ways of adding features... Forcing devs to continually reinvent the wheel each and every time. All for no real reason.

I have to disagree. At least with my old epic touch. Ics was a complete flop as far as I'm concerned and jelly bean was worlds apart. And after source got released the devs over there anyway were able to create some great roms and kernels. I think this update will be pretty good. However it will still be jelly bean but with some tweaks of course.

Nice, I have not seen that. But to answer your original question I would stay on clean rom because they always seem to be the best quality of a rom. I've used multiple roms and always go back to clean rom but currently running stock because of warranty exchanges.
It will happen like this, sept 4th the note 3 will come out packing 4.3 . 3 months later the gs4 and note 2 international models will get 4.3. 6 months later at&t will release a hacked up and bloated version of it.
