[Q] Android 4.2 Camera? - Sprint LG Optimus G

So I flashed the android 4.2 camera ( http://www.qbking77.com/apps-games/android-4-2-jelly-bean-camera-application-review.html) but when I went on the new camera app it says: "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped". How can I fix this?
- I tried many other links but none worked
- Rooted and unlocked ZVB with the camera and beats audio mod

Have you cleared data on the app?

I've tried everything. They all crash with gallery.

Yes I have cleared data and I tried everything like epic but still crashes
?!?!

Could it be that we are not on 4.2 it shouldn't matter but I don't why it wouldn't work then.

The gallery was also updated with 4.2 if I remember the Android Police reviews of 4.2.

From what I've experienced, it works on anything AOSP/CM based. I've used it on a few of my old devices running CM.

ooooooooooooooooooo
So that means that once we get AOSP JB roms we can get this...
Fine I guess

I don't remember what ROM it was, and I don't remember it being a CM rom, and in fact, I think it was also an ICS ROM, but I had the photosphere app working on my EVO3d at one point.

[Q] Does Instagram work on any ICS-based ROM yet?

I've tried many ROMs and noticed Instagram didn't work in any of them, so I went back to stock. I kinda just got tired of flashing ****.
Basically, my question is... Does Instagram work on any of the new 4-19-2012 ICS builds? I tried every other ROM before that date, I think.
I'm using yaldek ics and instagram works fine

I'm using NexusMod ICS Zero and it's working. The only thing is I notice the Camera isn't taking as good of pictures as on GB ROMS. I may try another ICS ROM. The picture quality is not just with Instagram but with any camera app. Including the stock.

Browsing pictures and commenting is fine. But... You can apply filter and post pictures without your phone having a seizure, freezing, or rebooting?
Last i checked it wasn't...so perhaps you're lucky.
I haven't found an ICS rom based off any of the leaks that Instagram works with yet. I would wait for the OFFICIAL official release of ICS and then go from there...

Camera missing after CM-10 Update

After I updated from CM-9 20120909 to CM-10 20120915, I lost my Camera. Is this a known issue or did I loose a file during update. I pulled the update off Goomanager and flashed through TKRP. Also , what is best 3rd party camera app for the S3? I didn't mind the stock app.
I flashed the CM10 9/15 nightly coming from CM9 and I got a stock camera. You can try re-downloading the file and then re-flashing or you could get this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.cameraZoom.
I don't use it myself, but I have a friend who swears by it.
Not sure on CM9, but on CM10 disabling the gallery app kills the camera.

Thanks! I will take a look later tonight and see if this is my problem. I went ahead and flashed back to CM9 earlier today. I might wait on future CM10 updates. I also started to notice the flicker issues folks were talking about.
I would say try re-downloading CM10. Asides from the camera issue, I've actually noticed less flicker from my download of the CM10 9/15 nightly compared to my old CM9 build. Granted my CM9 build was older than yours (I think 8/25), but from what I understand, CM9 isn't even supposed to have flicker.

I had zero flicker with CM9's current update. I flashed CM10 9/18 last night by doing a complete wipe and factory reset, since camera was missing on the CM10 9/15 I flashed updating from CM9. It's weird , after flashing 9/18 I had camera when I opened up my Gallery , but no camera icon on the homescreen. It seems when I flashed gaapps, I lost the camera option all together. There is a generic camera Icon shortcut on the lockscreen, but it will not open. Am I missing something here ? Gallery is enabled.
Did you flash JB gapps? Since CM10 is based off JB and not ICS that could be it, although I don't see how gapps could affect the camera.
You saved my life!

This is a noob question, but does this work like the stock Gallery/Camera combo where you can see your Picasa folders? When I was rooted and using a stock Rom I would always upload immediately to Picasa and delete from SD/phone and still be able to see my pics in the folder. Since I switched to JellyBam Rom, I no longer see anything from Picasa, although I can still upload pics to Picasa. I flashed GAPPS 4.1.2, and everything works on the apps, except for the Picasa/Gallery thing. Any help in figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.

This is correct! Thanks for the heads up on the AT&T SGS III. However since "Action" scene is required to be able to use without freezing users should also note that "Action" scene does not have Flash functionality. (No Pictures in the dark). "Auto" mode still freezing up when Auto-Focusing. I'd say if you want the camera to play with Photosphere and never take pictures in the dark then this APK is for you.
That's is working with no problem on JB 4.1 TW base. And the good part : it not replace the TW camera!

About the 2 gallery's/2 cameras: In your app drawer after flashing the first one is stock, second one is photosphere. Just go to the app info and disable the stocks.

I've been running this for about 3 weeks and I have never had to set the scene to anything in order for it to work I just leave it on Auto. It just worked 100% straight outa flashing.
Also, because of this I have working flash as well.

No, it's not unstable. You did something wrong, or your ROM is interfering.

[Q] Stock TW APKS on Task's AOPK?

Hi All.
I wanted to get tasks rom. My only issue is that I really like the stock tw music and video apps. Is there a way for me to get those stock apps on my new aopk rom? Btw, I know about the repository of the stock apk, but will they work on aopk, if i put them in system? Thanks in advance
TW and AOSP (CM, AOKP, Liquid, etc) use entirely different frameworks. Therefore, TW apps are not compatible with Task's ROM.
I wondered about that as well. It seems the only way I can get clear audio through bluetooth streaming is with TW ROMs. A brutal catch 22 for me.

It's not that. I love Task's ROM. I have no problem with the functioning of the music streaming. It's just I still get a little distortion even with the updated versions. I can't figure out what the problem is.

The issue is the open source drivers that AOSP roms use instead of the drivers built just for the chip. This is something that always has and always will plague the open source roms. While the open source files work they do not work the best. The chips OEM holds back just enough to make sure their files will always work the best. It is just something you learn to live with.

Instagram Issue

Is anyone having issues with trying to load pictures from your gallery onto instagram? Where you try and upload it but the picture comes out black.. When I use the camera on the app itself it seems to work fine, but when I upload from gallery it is black. Seems to be like this on all Roms... So I assuming its the update on instagram? I heard over in a development thread they said to use the stock camera instead of the "advanced instagram" camera. But after upgrading to 4.3 it went away completely, but I still use stock camera anyways.
I was having the same problem after upgrading to a ROM with JB 4.3. It went away when I updated to the next most recent nightly. Maybe it's a problem with some of the early 4.3 builds? Try upgrading to the newest nightly or downgrading to the most stable 4.2
Its not they all break for some reason. I'm sure its because of the 3.4 kernel. 3rd party camera apps seem to break. Don't know why or how. That's why use the stock camera.

hey guys, i just found an easy work around.
all you got to do is choose your image from the gallery, apply one of the instagram filters, hit next, then go back and choose the normal filter. it should work out well
Here's what fixed it for me:
1) Open Instagram
2) Go to Options
3) Go to Advanced Features
4) Uncheck "Use High-Quality Photo Processing"
Had the same problem with AOKP on Xperia V - changing that setting fixed it
