[Q] ║ Handset Sound Problem - WFS ║ - HTC Wildfire S

Hi all,
I just realize that my phone's sound is too low while I was talking with somebody. I can't hear the people who talks with me on phone. I have to use speaker to hear them. When I get on the bus and if someone is calling me, I feel the hell I'm using infrarom now and I tried others (cyanogen etc.)
Handset sound is better on infrarom. What do you suggest me to do? Is there any rom with good handset sound quality?
Another problem is touch menu buttons are not working. Is there any setting to turn it on? Or any rom suggestions for it? Otherwise I will begin to sorrow for that

our phone has already low sound
but if you think your phone's sound is very low change rom.
and about touch buttons it possibly rom problem..so i advised you to install stock rom for while to check that your phone has software issues or hardware issues.
like in stock rom you will face these all problems meaning that's hardware fault..if everything good in stock rom..you good to go..then try another roms of your like:good:

Experiencing low volume during calls

Hi All,
I recently flashed the AT&T shipped rom and then TAI_Sw's awesome M2D rom. However, I have found that the call volume during calls are now very low compared to what I was used to.
I've cleaned my ears and there has been an improvement either lol.
Please could someone suggest a fix? Would this require fiddling with the register? Please could someone suggest what to do.
Many thanks in advance,
Regards,
we are new thread crazy today

cheers for your suggestion.
is setacousticparam a .cab file? please could you link me?
Try this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357543&highlight=setacousticparam
If I can remember correctly this cab runs as autoinstall in his rom after flashing. Default volume levels in his roms are usually at 50% for everything, I think. Maybe you havent checked that during calls?
I'm running the same excellent rom but have the opposite problem my phone is too loud! I have run the in call volume fix found on the thread and although I can now change the in call volume even the minimum setting is far too loud!
If there is a registry setting or anything that could help, a posting of what do would be much appreciated.
Edit: Tried the set accoustics and it made no difference for me.

whats the reason for the improved audio on incdoes's desire hd port??????

The audio sound quality and volume has been greatly improved on IncDoes's desire hd port. The audio through the headphone jack sounds better and is much louder. What file or files are in direct relation to this? Basically, what file or files do I need to rip out of his Rom to apply this to another Rom?
EDIT (10-10-10): about a week or so ago i did get the result i was looking for. i copied and pasted probably about a dozen or so files from the Desire HD rom to the Virtuous rom i am running and i did get this to work. i just have no idea whatsoever, which file actually did it.
i'd like to get this figured out so that i can apply this hack to another rom if i ever decide to switch to another rom. i'm running a very early version of Virtuous, 2.0 to be exact. if i update, i'll loose what i somehow did. 2.0 has been running pretty flawlessly though i gotta say.

ok, i would, but the rom is broken. streaming any kind of audio makes the phone unresponsive within about 10 minutes or so. it works fine for about 5-10 minutes and then the cpu usage gets maxed out and the phone becomes completely unresponsive. if that one issue was fixed i would continue to use the rom, but until then, it's useless to me. in the meantime i would like to get this kind of audio quality onto a more stable rom.

No Q&A threads in development is why... I can't help you(I am idiot), but any improvement that can be mashed into other roms is a plus.

none of the rom developers on here know the answer? whoever can help me with this gets a small donation... thats how bad i need this.
if it was me, i would probably pull the lib audio files out of the lib folder and make an update with those. I'm new to the incredible though.

use adb push and overwrite them. make sure to nandroid backup first. also, when you boot run adb logcat just in case you run into errors.
give it a few days, theres gonna be a big skyraider rip or a new version of RR with everything fixed i bet

i'm gonna try it right now. i have plenty of backups. i'll report back in a few.
i think your update.zip worked like it should have( phone booted and is running), but the audio is still the same. i think it's a different file than the ones that are in your update. thanks for the try though.
is it possibly part of the framework, and not in the lib directory?
haven't installed that rom, but in other roms i've used where dspmanager is installed, that app greatly improved the sound quality. maybe it's built into the framework with tweaked settings already in place?

yea i already have DSP manager. have been using it since the day that it was discovered to work on the incredible. this is something completely different. on incdoes's desire port the volume is considerably louder and just sounds better. there has got to be someway we can make this work on other roms.
i was just hoping a dev that knew which files controlled what, could lead me in the right direction.
have you tried just PMing ID and asking?

[Q] Best ROM for using as MP3 Player? Remove "phone" button and disable cell antenna?

[Q] Best ROM for using as MP3 Player? Remove "phone" button and disable cell antenna?
Just got a droid incredible and I'm using it as an mp3 player (ipod touch killer).
Basically, I don't need verizon service (cell antenna) or the phone button.
What's the best ROM for this? Would like something stable without many (or any) bugs (compared to stock).
Also would like one that would extend battery life if it doesn't sacrifice much else.

I would use one of the stock based roms like my rom Touch of Blue, or jermaines Stock+ rom. I do not know how to turn off the radio in a way that is presistent after a reboot. To remove the phone button you would need to decompile a couple framework apks edit them and then recompile them. Not sure exactly what you would need to edit. I know how to make it not say phone but there would still be a pushable button there that brings up the dialer.
Mabey i will look into making a rom like this for fun. It might get some use now that a lot of people have retired their incredibles and moved to other newer phones.
So even if I use a an AOSP rom, I would still have the phone button issue?
What about using GB with Sense 3.0?
I'll take a look at your ROM, thanks
If the presence of the phone button will bother you, just use a custom launcher with whatever rom you flash.

There's a script somewhere in the dev forum that disables everything but wifi if I am not mistaken, and changing over to something like launcher pro should satisfy your no phone needs.
Try this maybe.

and you can use Go Launcher or Launcher Pro Plus for your custom launcher and have no phone button.
Personally I'd go with Launcher Pro Plus.. I think it's quicker, though the developer has stopped developing it- it's still solid for our phones.
just delete the phone apk on the rom? you can always reflash if you run into issues. it should give a battery increase too.

Wow thanks for the replies everyone.
For the time being, I've put the phone in airplane mode and kept wifi on.
I will try a different launcher soon - I also have an HTC flyer and had issues with other launchers (stability-wise).
I will root the phone when I get a chance so I can use that script.
a guide to do this
I have a guide that would help you do this.
It probably needs a little updating since i'm doing another phone I will add what ever new info I find

Help my nexus become a phone

Hello guys,
I have bought my galaxy nexus yesterday and it is working really great. But to my dismay,it has almost non-existant speaker volume.I don't know about my incoming messages and I miss all my calls because I cannot hear the phone ringing. This phone is running stock jelly bean 4.1.2
Now my question is probably already answered in this forum, but I get confused with so many solutions.I am willing to root, unlock and what not if someone can give me the correct instructions.I just want my phone to have audible speaker volume for sms, calls, movies and songs.
I would prefer that my phone remains as stock as possible so I can recieve the OTA updates too,so please avoid telling me solutions that involve custom roms.If custom rom is the only solution tell me how to have ota updates too.
Thanks in advance
without knowing how loud it is, it is possible there is something wrong with the speaker. you should verify that it is functioning properly before rooting it and playing with custom roms. Mine is currently stock and volume is great imo

Thank you for your reply, really appreciated.
Well I can't think of a way to accurately describe how loud it is,lets say I have the loudest ringtone that I play both on my neo v and nexus. It makes me jump when it rings on neo v.But on nexus its like a whisper,
About playing with custom roms,I specifically said in my original post, that I don't actually want custom rom solution.I wanna stay stock for ota updates

Low Volume on T800

On some sites or videos the volume is very low is there any app or work around for this?
There are a few audio booster apps on the play store, just be careful you dont blow your speakers.

John.
EDIT: I bet you want to know which one is the best one.
Please if you would tell me which is best I would be very greatful because I have tried several and have not had any luck. That was before I rooted and installed Ironman 2.2 which is a Touch Wiz rom which I belive is based on a stock rom because I am not a expert on these things.
Sorry i dont know, I have not tried any myself, maybe somebody else knows which app works the best.
EDIT: Try Volume+
