-is cm9/10 stable here or there is some annoying known bugs ?
-the battery non-removal forms an issue (incase of brick or bootloop)?
-What is the most battery saving rom which also stable and better than stock ?

First thing you need to do is make sure that the one you buy is bootloader unlockable otherwise you'll be stuck with Sony based roms.
Cm9 and cm10 are very stable, 10.1 isn't too far off being stable either! I use it as a daily fine.
Overall best all round is PAC 19.3 i think currently. Battery life is great on it and it's soo fast to use.
Battery overall, it's a smart phone, it'll probably need charging every night

Let's talk about best rom for Gio AllinOne

Hello all
I want to talk a little about what rom to use for Gio.
I am interested in using something nice like Giopro or BNC-GIO-ROM-R1 but want a better battery life.
At first the battery stockrom kept me up two days but after using [One package] DXKT4 Firmware (2.3.6) (credits to ricci darmaji) my battery life was considerably extended at least 4 days even if they use the Internet 10-20 minutes a day, and 5-10 minutes of calls per day.
In this we add 1 to 2 hours of games besides the above said.
So my battery life was quite visible but the stockrom bored me, and so much temptation to use customrom change is inevitable, but do not wath should i use to give me a good battery life.
In conclusion I wish a nice custom rom like, Giopro or BNC-GIO-ROM-R1, but with a good battery life.
Who has tried many custom rom and can say to me wath is best..good loking, moves smooth and gives the best battery life please share your knowledge with us.
PS.What upgrades can I use over BNC-GIO-ROM-R1 or Pro to extend battery life like DXKT4 Firmware (2.3.6) (credits to ricci darmaji)? There any upgrade to make them better at extending battery life ?
NOOB alert
Hey, thought I'd join in on this one as I would welcome all advice about which ROM to put on my wifes GT-S5660.
Currently on a T-Mobile UK contract, this phone out-of-the-box was a bag of s***, couldn't even send an SMS without turning mobile data off 1st.
Some bugs were fixed by an update over KIES to S5660XXKQG software, but it's still very buggy. Some of the occasional problems include ;
- screen refuses to unlock
- partial screen unresponsiveness
- HOME button takes screenshots when it feels like it (so my wife sits there trying to press buttons on a photo lol )
- END CALL not working
Anyway, what I need is a ROM that does all the basics correctly , so phone, wi fi, camera, SMS, internet and a reasonable battery life would be a bonus. Oh! and she has to use the speakerphone to hear so the proximity sensor needs to work!
Not particularly fond of the Samsung interface but can always use GO Launcher or whatever.
I managed to root & custom my HTC Desire (not bad for a silver surfer pmsl ) and so far I have rooted and removed the simlock on this phone.
I'm still going through the guides regarding CWM and ODIN but I welcome any plain-English advice you guys are willing to offer.
BTW, I'm on a win or brick it solution with this phone as my wife is soooooo fed up.
Thanks all
Cm7.2 works great, all in one rom, perfect, no huge buggs

Agree with voetbalremco. The best custom ROM for Gio, so far, is CyanogenMod 7.2 by phiexz. It doesn't have any major flaws.
Many thanks peeps.
I'll give that one a try
i think there is a bug on cm7.2, bug when playing music via headset. I don't know if that's only me, but the song plays slower and it's not continuous, it's like --------- got it? haha, i'm sorry, i can't find the word to say.

[Q] Xperia Arc running very slow

Hi guys. I bought a Xperia Arc (LT15i) last year, SIM-Unlocked, T-mobile branded and lots of bloatware. The experience so far couldn't be better. I love the UI and the camera is great. Since the very beginning it has being laggy, but it was bearable. Recently I updated to ICS hoping I would get a bit faster. At the beginning it was nice, but now it crashes a lot, and I can hardly avoid throwing it to a wall. Moreover battery lasts 8 hours with hardly use, which is very annoying as I have to go everywhere with cables and chargers (not sure if the battery is actually working well. I haven't tested it or used a brand new one).
I would like to flash a good and stable rom, if possible with JB. Which one would you recommend. I unlocked once the bootloader, but I didn't really want a custom rom at the moment, but the ICS stock one, so I relocked in order to get it. Not sure if that was the best thing to do, but it was running at quite a decent speed. Now it is very very laggy (even doing trivial things such as searching a contact!!!), and when I got my sony smartwatch, the battery drain was overwhelming.
I want something smooth, a custom ROM would be very welcomed. I read about Jelly Sandwich. Seems really nice, but since I don't want have the time to read all the posts, can anybody tell me if there's any problem connecting to the smartwatch in a custom ROM? Also, some comments regarding performance and battery drain on such ROM would be very much appreciated.
I don't have any game installed, since the available storage is very limited (I have like 39 mb left). I use mail a lot, chat applications (such as whatsapp, IMO, talk, etc.), facebook and twitter.
I really want to get the most out of it before I buy myself another phone (Xperia V, maybe?).
Thanks in avance, a newbie.
I recomend you X Gamer or another GB Rom as Arconium 8.2, because JB and ICS will make your device slower cause they need more resources to run ok. If you want smoothness my recomendation is to use X-Gamer Rom from OmenHTX. Im using it right now and its go flashy

If u want to use your devices faster, your battery life time may lower. So, trying a custom rom which developer claimed how much fast their rom, sure the battery will drain faster. If u want to use battery longer, your phone performance will also slower. So try using the stock rom is the best as the sony developer team balanced all the properties. I would like to recommend you one thing is to use app like Advance Task Killer (for fast performance & battery lift) and Link2SD (for storage performance problem). And also Rom Toolbox Pro app. With this app, you can stop unwanted app from auto running. This can greatly reduce memory usage.
Good Luck Guy,

[q] cm9 vs cm10

CM9 VS CM10 Which Better For Gaming , Faster , Mods , Better Kernels and Bettery Life ??
i wanna ANS PLZ
i think slimbean
CM9. With Seeder v5. Using either Castagnal IT kernel or hadi's.
CM10 is not stable enough that's all. Battery lasted 3 days with wifi on.
Underclocked though~

Well, I'm using CM10 Alpha 3 now and everything I've experienced is far better than what I've experienced with ICS ROMS. JB is absolutely smoother than ICS. Try Slimbean first if you don't wanna waste time downloading just to test things. Apply forfivo's kernel v2 for jb to improve performance.
Just to be honest, even though many users are saying that there's many bugs and issues on cm10, the times you will encounter them are so minimal. And the phone is still fit for daily use. Just take my advice. Try CM10.

Have you even used it before comparing it to cm9? I doubt it so what your saying is nothing more than baseless rubbish that cm9 is better tan cm10.
Its a fact that wifi drains the battery and to keep it on all the time is stupid and it takes a really stupid person to not be able to see that cause its been said again and again and again that having it on drains the battery and then you complain that the battery drains fast when you have wifi on all day. Yea I see s a real intelligent person there.

Can you please just calm down and stop sounding like you are trying to start a fight for absolutely no reason at all, calling people stupid, everyone is just giving their own opinion, giving an answer. I myself would suggest cm9 too as not all games work properly with jb and its very stable as of now.

I'm in no means to start argument. But I left it with wifi on for three days to test for battery life.
If you don't connect to the internet much, wifi will barely consume any battery. But if you have any more to say, try having 3G on. My experience is that browsing on the internet with 3G on will even consume battery with AC plugged in.(though that is when I'm still in stock GB)
I keep my wifi on when I'm at home because file updates run better on them. (and is needed for frequent teamviewer usage too)
I did not state the fact that CM10 is worse than CM9, its just stability. And as a person who relies on his phone quite a lot, stability does come before performance.
Thanks for iBlueee and peanutghost(direct translate) for being rational

Very stable. Been using CM10 as a daily driver since... around Decemember I am guessing. I have been following the weekly FXP updates and flash/wipe every time a major change come along our way.
Highly recommend CM10!
We are missing 1080p recording, Panoramic mode doesn't work on the camera... um that's all I can really think of. I've been using it so long that any minor bugs doesn't bother me anymore. It runs much better than CM9 and way faster than stock. Battery life is probably equivalent to stock ICS... again been away from stock for so long I don't really know anymore.
I ran stock for about two weeks and then broke open the bootloader and installed CM9. It was awesome! I went back to CM9 once after running CM10 for about 10 days while I was on vacation (needed the battery life before it was better optimized) and even then I missed CM10. Flashed CM10 back and never left.
With JB sources released for the Acro S we can only hope that the FXP team fix even more bugs and make CM10 even better. Hopefully soon also take us to CM10.1!
Oh one more thing for battery life. I was in Japan a couple of weeks ago with CM10 installed. With no data connection and using wifi only with auto-brightness enabled. (data uses more battery than wifi) According to batterbatterystats (my best record) I managed to push about 3hours 45min of "screen on" on a full charge. From the morning till the evening. Surfing the web, whatsapp, facebook, email, and some youtube. Hope that gives you an idea of battery life.

That is some good battery life, isn't?
Take in account that the Qualcomm is the regular SoC choice on every Xperia (except Xperia P) and Snapdragon is pretty powerhungry on stock firmware-based devices right? I hope CM10 is an batteryfriendly AOSP choice for the Acro S..
And yes, one more thing.. How is the camera performance on CM based ROMs for Xperia Acro S? Better or worse than stock? Camera is important to me..

I am pretty sure there LOTS of ROMS like that throughout the forum but I would recommend Close2Perfection and Gin2KitKat. Try them both if you can and see what is good for you. BTW, both of them are GB ROMs.

Well, I used the Gin2JellyBean Rom 2.5.2 (not a fan of the kitkat 3.0.0 look). It's very stable, has great battery life and it's also extremely powerful when it comes to gaming. Also, I haven't found something which is missing. Everything is working great and it's without a doubt, one(!) of the best Xperia Play GB roms you can find here.
But for now I'm using IceCreamSpeed V12. I like the design and it's an incredible good ICS rom, with full Touchpad Support (and if it doesn't work for specific games you can use the Touchpad activator, coming with the rom).
Alright so
I tested almost all "gaming" roms on gb for the xperia play for 1 year now..... And i have to say that NXT Light or Auroraplay is the best choice for you if you want to game
I am now on auroraplay and i have to say i can play everygame without overclocking and withotu lags
Btw: The GB Roms are much faster then the ICS roms so dont bother you use gingerbread for gaming
The best kernel for gingerbread is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849536
So use that with auroraplay and your xperia play will fly!!!!
Edit: No that roms hasnt any bugs and of corse you can use your touchpad
1. I have tried many ROMS too. but the SuperLite JB is one of my Fav's .. I used it as a daily for 1 year. Totally customizable because of AOKP settings.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2357756
and then I switched to MIUI.. ohhhhh.. MIUI is the real Beautiful Face of Android.. the usual android is soooooooooooooo Boring.. MIUI is a please to the eye.. Totally Customizable.. Loving it from within 5 mins of Installing it..
2. You have the Gaming Edition GB here .. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2201338
3. and also the newer.. JB edition here .. http://en.miui.com/thread-3182-1-1.html .. the JB one is amazing.. and newer.. a totally fresh change.. but still ANDROID.
