Same error, but you can S-OFF your Desire HD. Unlock Bootloader or S-OFF is the same thing for me....

Hi all
I have the HTC ONE X International TEGRA 3 version.
Could do with some help.
I've updated HBOOT to 1.28 and when i try to install aokp_ICJ422-V2.9.5.zip in recovery this is what i get:
updating partition details...
installing '/sdcard/0/roms/aokp_ICJ422-V2.9.5.zip'...
checking for md5 file...
skipping md5 check: no md5 file found.
assert failed: getprop("ro.bootloader") == "1.28.0000" ||
E:error in 'sdcard/0/roms/aokp_ICJ422-V2.9.5.zip'
updating partition details...
Then it says Failed underneath
This is using Team Win Recovery Project v2.4.1.0
Any help is appreciated
AFAIK it should work on 1.28 hboot but it seems that LorD made a slight mistake while writing the updater script...
Is there any way you could update the hboot even further?

I dont think i can as it was what was on the htc dev website and i just use the identifier token thats shown in cmd prompt
Ahem, hboot version has nothing to do with either htcdev or identifier token.
Please do:
fastboot oem readcid
And post the result here.

INFODEBUG: cid: HTC__001
You can go up to 1.39. Please stand by for instructions.
Download this: http://goo.gl/M0hLq
Rename it "firmware" if it isn't already named so. Copy it to the fastboot folder.
Put your Unlock_code.bin to your fastboot folder (search email inbox if you've lost it)
Then do the commands one by one:
fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (do several times if it fails)
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Then flash the recovery of your choice and proceed.

Unlocking Bootloader Failed!
Sorry it didn't work out. Here's why:
We're sorry, but it appears your attempt to unlock the bootloader on this device has failed. This could be caused by several factors including simple errors in the entry of the unlock token, problems with your device, or a lack of manufacturer support for the unlocking process. Please see the specific error code listed below, and try again if necessary.
Error Code: Invalid Bootloader Token Length.
Error Reason: The submitted Token appears to be the wrong length and won't work.

Looks like your token is incorrect. How did you get it and did you paste it correctly?

you must put a Unlock_code.bin file into your SDK/ADB folder (a same place as your adb.exe or fastboot.exe folder)
then after that you can execute fastboot command to flashing it.. "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"
hope this can help..n good luck..

Try THIS or This one
I have received a Sprint Evo 4g and I can't get it to unlock the bootloader or install a custom recovery. I says Revolutinary on top, has s-off, hboot 6.16.1002 and radio 2.15.00.01.15. The firmware is 2.3.5 "5.06.651.6". When I type "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" it get a error saying "(bootloader) [ERR] Command error !!!". When I try "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" it gives me another error saying "FAILED (remote: image error! (BootMagic check fail))". I have all the files needed for this phone and I have experience with using fastboot and adb. I have rooted my HTC One and EVO 4g lte.
Can someone please help me with this?
Thanks

Root with Cydia impactor, then install SuperSU or Superuser. Then use Flashify to flash a recovery. You have S off so there is no need to unlock the bootloader. It could be a corrupt download of the recovery, hard to say.
Post your cmd output when you run the commands, minus your important info, meid serial # etc.
Also make sure fastboot is unchecked under power or battery settings.
I will try that. Thanks for the help.
Hi,
I have problems while trying to change CID into 11111111 from 032, the phone is S-OFF and run actually with 2.7 firware. The message error is still the same... FAILED (remote: failed unknown command).
Thank you
What commands do you use? Most of the time that are very small errors

Hi, in adb folder click shift and right on the mouse in order to open cmd...
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. adb devices
3. fastboot oem writecid 11111111
Something is wrong?
Thank you!
Second one Is stupid otherwise user HTC_001
same error without the second command...
even with the batch tool same error...
In order to use fastboot commands you must be in download mode not bootloader. Once you are in bootloader, chose download mode on phone. Then your commands should work.
not working even in download mode... no error command, but still the same CID...

In my experience I have to open command prompt as administrator and then cd to my platform tools folder. The shift right-click method doesn't work for me
