I'm using the directions for the LGNPST, and it says to push and hold vol up + vol down + power
This just pushes me to fastboot
tried releasing before the LG screen.. no dice, still in fastboot!
LGNPST doesnt detect the phone, even though i've installed the drivers via tSilenzio's method.
is their something im missing?
Volume up Volume down and plug in the device.
try pressing the up and down vol button ( or that hump in the middle which is the same thing) while plugging it into the computer.
Thanks guys, but my phone was already plugged in multiple times while doing this. Seemed to catch it though, so much thanks!

Phone seemed fine until earlier when the volume just decided to go right down and it started vibrating. I restarted it and now I'm stuck at recovery as the volume rocker seems to be stuck from the inside. The rocker switch seems to work ok but it's as if the volume is stuck in the down position so that whenever I get into the recovery menu, the cursor just goes loopy as if the vol down is being held.
Has anyone heard of such a thing before and recovered from it or is it a warranty repair job?
Also, any tips on how to RUU the handset in this state?
Any help greatly appreciated.
you can run a RUU while in fastboot mode.
since vol down is constantly pressed i dunno if you will be able to get into it.
try switching phone off, then switching it on pressing BACK + POWER buttons
hopefully this will boot into fastboot rather than bootloader.
if succesful, just plug your phone with a usb cable to PC and run the RUU.exe
So I can easily get into recovery mode, but that is it. I have tried both up and down while holding power. up and down and home while holding power. down/home/power and up/home/power all numerous times and the only thing I can get into is recovery mode. Degugging is on, and odin recognizes phone. Could this have something to do with the tmobile softkeys version instead of the internationals home"button". I also tried the holding up and down volume while odin is running and that didn't work either. I'm guessing i have to install the android sdk and use adb commands. as a last resort unless someone else can tell me what im doing wrong. As I don't own a jig/ dongle. am I the only one who has this problem?

Don't press power at all. Turn the phone off. Now just press both vol+&- and insert your USB cable that is already hooked up to your pc running odin.
Thanks You Very Much I am A f#&!ng retard. That worked perfectly.
yeah you can only go into DL mode when the USB cable is connected to your phone. So it should work when you're connected, phone is off, and then you hold +/- and power.
BUT people find it best to do what killa said
Im able to get into twrp recovery, and fastboot mode but not download mode... I wanted to put the phone back into stock and i thought wiping out everything would do so but i guess not.
Whenever i press the download mode command which i did was volume up down and power then plug into the laptop the 3 buttons will flash but my laptop won recognized it. I tried installing the LG Optimus G drivers but still unable to install it. Also TWRP says that the phone isnt rooted anymore and has no OS.

First off it's Vol Up + Vol Down while powered off and then plug into computer. DO NOT press the power button.
Secondly what ver. of windows and did the computer have any issues prior with connecting to the phone?
There is another fix but it's a bit drastic and wouldn't recommend it at this point.

oh well that might be the reason why. il try it out..im using windows 7 and it was working before i wiped everything.
link me to that fix if anything thanks
On my phone, Download Mode is only accessed when Vol + and - and power from a powered off state, while any USB cord is plugged in, either to a PC, or a wall charger.
After flashing, i noticed that the phone has some issues powering on and off normally i.e. phone completely died, plug the phone into the charger, screen turns on, phone is theoretically charging, but does not show any charging display icon. Which then forces me to unplug the phone, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, press and hold the power again to turn the phone on, and immediately plug it into the charger in order to get the phone to normally boot up. I flashed CM 10.2 from the original android dev thread. I think that was just a design flaw that LG had originally, but meh, what can i say.
Q&A?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Trying to relock boot loader. Have flashed stock and OEM is live but greyed out. Have tried to get back to bootloader screen as per rooting instructions, hold down both volume up and down buttons, hold down power and plug in USB, just goes into start boot loop not getting past the first powered by android screen.
Can boot into download mode but no options there, tried holding the up volume button but nothing happened, tried both up vol and power, nothing, tried both up and down vol, nothing and of course do power and down vol and reboots phone.
Tried vol down, hold power button and USB cable and boot power up loop again.
Tried ADB but phone is not recognised when connected to computer and in download mode, works with Odin so not sure why not with ADB.
Any idea's on how to get to bootloader screen so I can relock?
So I have spent hours now looking around for an answer the phone is find my phone locked and I can't remember my pin code. I have done all the tricks with the combination keys.
The usual way to get into Recovery mode is Hold V+ and power until the phone vibrates and you should be in recovery mode release the keys. (Doesn't work)
Iv read that you should have the USB cable connected from pc/laptop while you do the same holding V+ and power button... (doesn't work ether)
and download mode should be very easy just hold V+ and V- plug USB cable from pc/laptop and you should get into download mode by pressing V+. Will only show charging Icon and that's its.
So is it possible to turn off this modes from the manufactor? Or is this a completely new security future? How can you use odin? How can you wipe the cache? If you end up having some issues.
Im going nuts....
No way to get into fastboot ether. So if anyone know why this is happening to me or got any solution I would appreciate it.
Plug in your cable with the phone turned on. Hit Power Off and wait for the phone to fully turn off. The charging logo will show up so let the animation do its thing. After maybe 20 seconds, press Volume up + Power and keep them pressed until you boot to recovery. If the command wasn't recorded in the first place and the phone is still off after more than 15 seconds, let go of the buttons and press them again and keep them pressed until it boots in Recovery

This is so strange even paying for a frp reset but not even he does know what wrong??? Can they turn off fastboot, recovery mode and Download mode on this new phones? Is it because its locked with find my phone? 1 week researching now. It will only vibrate. And my PC cant find my phone anymore worked fine 30min ago nothing has changed... So annoying never seen this happened before every combination with buttons to get in any mode doesn't work only vibrates and go to pin lock screen...
Take it to a Samsung Experience center at best buy. Or send it into Samsung for repair.

thats a solid advice assuming his bootloader/recovery/download mode is fully functional then this advice works, in his case and in mine too it does not work and trying to get to the root of the problem is the key. In my case recovery mode gives error on screen so it may have to do with the way firmware is installed as these modes are not accessible.
have you sorted it out? Its nearly a year onwards =)

This, at index 2:48 minutes.
It needs to be connected to the PC. Another screwy quirk Samsung added recently. Your button timing/sequence matters as well.
On my N10+'s you can go into recovery directly with a restart if you do it right. Otherwise they will puke on you.
