Anyway to root on mac - Sprint LG Optimus G

Any way to root our Optimus g's on a mac

AW: Anyway to root on mac
i'm on the way to "convert" the ZVB JB method to osx.
but i must wait the phone arrives me next week to test it.
will it work then i release it

install windows using bootcamp. you are now rooting on a mac

I was able to run fastboot and adb to push a recovery to my transformer infinity using terminal. I wouldn't think it would be much different for OG root

You can use the linux scripts, just change out adb for an osx/darwin adb.

Unrevoked for mac 10.5?

I had my rooted Dinc replaced after it bricked. I am running 10.5.8 on my Mac but unrevoked 3 says it will not run on this version of OSX.
Does anyone have a copy which will run on 10.5.8, I would really like to get back to root.
Thank you!
Sorry to tell you bro but your only solution is to use a different computer.....unless your MAC is x86 intel based it won't work

That should work. Only thing you'd need to do is get your phone working on USB just so you can setup the USB to tcp/ip switch for adb.

ADB over WIFI
Hi,
I've published a app that allows to connect to ADB via WiFi in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1486915
Only thing is the app needs root.
In order to start ADB via WiFi, you need to restart ADB daemon,
and this action requires root permissions.

Luckily, as of about Android 11 and up, adb works over wi-fi (without USB) on non-rooted Android phones via Developer options Wireless debugging switches.

Downgrading Incredible 2 to HBOOT 0.97.0000 on Mac

I am looking for a walkthrough on downgrading my Incredible 2 using a Mac. I don't have a Windows or Linux machine available to me, and I need to downgrade to root. Can anyone help?

With Linux/MAC...you should be able to skip the HTC drivers part and jump straight to the adb part.

You should be able to open a Terminal window on your Mac and follow the instructions for Linux, entering the Linux commands into the Terminal window.
It's likely that you'll need to run the commands as a SU (Super User) or Root in the Terminal window. There are some helpful tutorials online if you're not an experienced Linux/Terminal user.
Thanks for the help guys, but I'm still having issues. For some reason even when I execute the adb commands as a root user, I still get a permission denied error. I'll paste in the code lines below, but I'm not sure why this doesn't work. Thanks!
Code lines:
sudo adb shell rm -r /data/local/tmp/*
adb: permission denied

No adb from bootloader....

So, weird thing happened... I am on Ubuntu and I can no longer adb to my nexus 7.2 from the bootloader, although I can when the device is on. I found this out when OTA had me stuck in recovery and I needed to adb push a flashable zip so that I could use my tablet, had to use a friend's macbook that had no problem with it. This is also happening on my wife's Nexus 4. I have tried my work and home laptops running Ubuntu 13.10 and the latest android sdk. Thoughts?
Thank you!
I'm gonna bump this... Any ideas?

I am sure you know this but I just need to double check. Are you using fastboot and not ADB while in the boot loader?
Yep, bootloader should be used with fastboot
Twrp had option for adb sideload
And when in android then use adb

Bricked LG G (E973)

Hi guys!
I've a big issue with an Lg Optimus G (E973)...
A friend root his E973 and install a E975 ROM on it....
So right now, I've access to 3 mode: Download mode, Fastboot and CWM.
I can't have access to the storage using an USB (even with the LG USB drivers) so I can't copy the right ROM and gapps on it!
There's any way to use the sideloader to send the two zip files to the phone and flash them after using CWM?

Enter downloding mod.Flash a kdz. Or use adb to put rom on storage.
Adb give me an error...
I've try to kill-server and start-server; also I've under the USB listening command... Sometime it's showing my device but when I'm asking to copy the ROM, I've an error <code> :error <\code>
Flashing a kdz... you mean with the LG Flash tools?

UPDATE; I've find something interesting here:
http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-return-fix-a-bricked-lg-optimus-g-back-to-stock.html
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
There's a tool called KDZ-Updater which you can use for flashing stock .kdz files (stock firmware), it's the easiest way.
And i don't think that your G is bricked, you can still enter fastboot & cwm.
Btw. i tried e973 Roms on my e975, they booted and nothing bricked, just some things didn't work as they should.
If the phone is still bricked try a different or up to date recovery for it. For me, TWRP adb side loading doesn't work so I use PhilZ touch
