this is not a request site. it is a do it yourself website.
Like Tei said, get off your lazy ass and do it yourself. Or do the smart thing and search the dev forums (hint hint)

Porting a different OS is a damn lot of work, so don't expect anyone to do it.
Maybe a dev will become interested an it and start to work on it, but currently everyone is pretty busz porting the Sensation ROM I suppose, so don't expect it to happen.
God get with the program people, use search and view the numerous threads on this subject and don't listen to the doubters we've all been running it for years
I m asking it because as far as hardware is considered desire hd and hd2 are not very different so the only need is to do some tweaking may be some Dev can do it let's keep our hops alive.

Hey guys,
Just two quick questions here
I ported htc sense 3.0 ROM to HTC desire HD, if I ever want to return to stock ROM do I just format my phone?
Second question is, is there any ROM that is ported from windows 7 phone to HTC desire HD, always wanted to try that xbox live on windows phones.
from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
A1) If you want to go back to the original stock HTC ROM, you need to flash a RUU (you will lose root)
If you want root, you'll find many GB and froyo ROMs out there that are stock-rooted ROMs. Just flash them using CWM recovery.
A2)Not to my knowledge, no.
^^ A1 is answered
A2) There aren't any ROMs at the moment which can be ported to DHD from WP7, it would be too hard to the developers to do so without all of the correct drivers.

Isn't gonna happen if you want to try WP7, may I suggest you buy a WP7 phone
Windows Phone 7 is unlikely to be ported because unlike Android, it is not open source. Microsoft keeps most of the technical information under lock and key. It would be near impossible to port anything of that nature.

He doesn't, he wants to try xbox live on windows phones, which i'm assuming has some fairly hefty DRM which would never survive a kang of WP7 anyway.
Yeah I got that, I just threw in that link there if he might be interested in WP7 in general also, because he asked for a ported rom, not just the xbox live function to be ported.

It would be interesting to see that the hardware could support windows 7 starter.
Is there a stable ios rom for desire hd? I think it would be cool to have
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda premium
iOS cannot be ported directly to this phone as Apple does not release the code for it so it cant be modified easily.
However, the MIUI ROM is quite popular and is made to look like iOS. That is a good option.
...and it would be like putting a Fiat Uno engine in a Ferrari
Next they wil ask for WM6.5, and 6.1... or even 5.
Jesus...
I would be happy to have WP7 ported, though i don't use it not even in my HD2
you could always install a MIUI rom form the dev thread
then download and install this..... (this guy has done some amazing work around transforming the phone into almost an identical replica)

If you want something that looks like the icrap then MIUI will be your best bet. IOS will never see an android port so that as close as you will get
Thanks guys, you are kinda right with the fiat punto lol

Well with the update of from apple, iOS5 is basically almost android like.
-Notification tray taken
-cloud syncing
-voice commands
Heck they even wanted to implement a silimar home screen and app drawer...
And on that note. Thread closed
Any rumors?

Dualcore phones can run it officially. See the mwc event.. So it should run theoretically good...
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
The phone should have no problems with it but initially its up to htc, but maybe in the future theyll make it open source so devs here can try. Im really enthusiastic about this, the phone is powerful enough to be both a basic desktop computer AND a media center. Love the idea of one device for everything!

Also just saw that linux 3.3 got out some days ago and it has android code merged in the kernel. This might speed up the development of a desktop solution.

It's running in Xperia Arc ... So I guess it should run in HTC One X as well BTW in Xperia we use Kernel 2.9

yep but that's the vnc method that can be used on more devices and I feel it's a bit complicated and probably not efficient hardware wise. What resolution can you get when using an external display via hdmi?
wow now this looks really cool!
Anyone any idea if the HTC One X Desktop Cradle has hdmi and usb ports?

Not that I know of, but I did find this. - http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/tr/p_htc_item.aspx?i=229931

It'd be nice if HTC just released a laptop dock. I'd be ecstatic.

Oh nice!
Thanks for that YouTube link!
Do you know if it'll be compatible with the Ubuntu One? So I can use my phone as desktop and then connect it to a monitor
Android Revolution HD
I've suggested on the thread for this ROM whether they can include it, but it's kinda been ignored. Here's a link to my post asking for it.
Maybe if we made more noise about it, they'd consider doing it.
Yeah, after releasing the Kernel source of our HOX, the chances to enable OTG support(which is required imho) is very high. So this project might become "real" in the near future
/Dev
Wondered if anyone's tried this yet? Or is it impossible without USB OTG?

This is what I am really waiting for (currently, it still not useable).
love my dhd , will be sad to see it go and will probably not buy htc again in protest of the ICS saga.
Anyways, seen this a good few months ago and wondering are we any closer to running ubuntu yet ?

For me this seems to be the way forward
Multi-core req
I also love my DHD, but i seem that the ubuntu project requires a multicore (minimum dual) so I don't think this will be posible.

You seem to doubt the development team greatly. Whenever ubuntu for mobile become ever more popular or when a dev has the free time to work on a port it will be done.
There are many lower end devices that are not fully 1Ghz running android from its original (windows mobile) so relax and see;jelly bean and ics ports are still in swing
