Hi guys!
Okay, I'm doing a side by side comparison of the N7100 Vs the N7105, and one thing that is apparent to me now is.
#1) I'm in a refarmed area and I put my sim in the N7100 and bam catches HSPA+
#2) When I put the sim in the N7105 Same spot same settings( network only to WCDMA mode) I Get Nothing zip nada can't connect to the network (however AT&T's Network Shows UP), Only when I put it on GSM/WCDMA or LTE/GSM/WCDMA It's always on Edge. Can't get the HSPA+ to work on T-mobile.
So what gives? They both support the same frequency but only the n7100 is getting HSPA+? I know the N7105 has a DC42 HSPA+ modem vs the HSPA+ 21 on the N7100 but the band support is the same and just the N7105 has the LTE bands in there as well.
So why won't the N7105 Get HSPA+ Speeds on the Re farmed 1900 band?? Any suggestions?
I'm interested in this too. Does anyone know if the N7105 will work on tmobile's H+ network?
I just noticed this too

Just came up on a N7105. Is there anyway around the EDGE limitation? Are you all on a stock ROM? I'm curious if changing the firmware for modem or ROM will help get us back up? Or are we stuck because of hardware limitation?
are you using the right modem?

Still no luck?
I found the modems (or a discussion about them) at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031575
The collection of modems seems to point here http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7105
I had NO LUCK finding anything for TMO in USA.
Anyone who came up with a solution for this?

What modem do you suggest? I didn't find one for the US to convert a Telstra N7105 to N7100 (US -- Tmobile).. please assist.
I had the same problem. The thing is that the N7105's 3G radio does not support 1900mhz. Your best bet is selling the N7105 and buying a N7100 like I did.
I have the same problem
I have the same problem.
I wonder if by flashing any other modem or ROM (let's say ATT ROM) I could get my N7105 work 3G on 1900MHz.
The thing is:
N7105T: 3G (850/900/1900/2100)
N7105: 3G (850/900/2100)
I have the N7105 but I'd like to get this note work 3G on 1900MHz. Is there any way to do this. Not sure what really does a different modem on the phone, does it allow the phone to work on different bands? (of course, if the hardware is present in the phone).
Is it possible to do this if I flash a ROM from a carrier which work 3G on 1900MHz (like ATT)? Or it is absolutely impossible to do this because of hardware limitations?
I'd like to add that if I dial and go to *#197328640# -> UMTS -> Debug Screen -> Phone control -> Network control -> Band Selection, I can see this Automatic(*) meaning that the automatic option is chosen but if I get into WCDMA Band Preference I have an option which is WCDMA 1900 but if I click just that option nothing happens. The option is present but I cannot select it, but if choose another one, let's say WCDMA 850 for example, I can select it, but of course my phone lose signal because my carrier does not work WCDMA on 850MHz. I fix this by selecting "Automatic" again just to get EDGE as the best network on this carrier.
I think there has to be a way to activate WCDMA on 1900MHz provided that the option is already there, I think the hardware IS there.
So, what should I do to get 3G 1900MHz on this N7105?
Thanks in advance.
Reinaldo.

Did you ever got 42 hspa+? I get 21.6 max on my n7100 on xxdlk7 modem.
I use Network Signal Pro for monitoring & talking about Net. type parameter, not actual speeds.
From what I know, T-mobile's 1900MHz UMTS Band II is around in my area, but I'm stuck on EDGE. Scanning for networks when I was running the stock firmware that came with the LT26i showed T-mobile 3G along with 2G (and AT&T 2G/3G), but clicking 3G never worked for me. Now I'm running FreeXperia CM10 and it only shows T-mobile and AT&T without a 2G/3G distinction in any of them. Is anyone actually able to get on T-mobile 3G on a non-stock ROM? If yes, then how?
Bump as I would also like to know. I'm torn between getting this phone or the LT28H.
I am wanting to know this too... I am on Straight talk in Dallas TX and really want this phone, but not if I cant use it on T-Mobile's 3G.

I got one on loan from Sony and it works on T-Moble's HSPA network but obviously not at it's HSPA+ which is 3.5G AKA: Faux 4G.

This is EXACTLY what I am looking for.
So I just flash Hong Kong ROM (to debrand), and LT28i radio to get AWS HSPA + LTE?????
If so, how?
I have obtained required ROMs.
LT28a is SIM unlocked.
I need it to work on T-Mobile USA

I'm still pretty confused about T-mobile's recent changes for LTE. I think (?) they are building their LTE on the 1900 band. Would my Ion flashed with the LT28I firmware be able to use T-mobile's new LTE data?

My unlocked ION LT28at works on tmobile LTE and E no 3G.
Is there an answer? Will the Sony Xperia Ion model LT28AT use LTE on T-Mobile?
Hi Everyone,
I been searching the forums but unable to find an answer to this question. I have a LT28at (AT&T Xperia ion) and i flashed it with the baseband of LT28i (from .69 package). Now the phone will not pick up t-mobile LTE bands. I was wondering if there is anyway i could manupulate it to pick up LTE whenever it detects it and still have AWS bands for HSPA+? I am in the SF Bay Area where t-mobile has LTE.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Use *#*#4636#*#* -> phone information
Change "WCDMA preferred" to "LTE(preferred/WCDMA/GSM"
If you are not getting LTE
I would check to make sure the APN info is there first. From what I understand this device does not work well on Tmo as it does not support the 1700 band. But if your in a spot that Tmo is using the shared 1900 band it should work. I have never tried so cant be much more help than that.
My apn is correct... It is set to fast.t-mobile.com. So I know it's not the apn settings.
have you tried to flash all the complete firmware?
Hmmm nevermind. :silly:

Quick question; Were you getting LTE before you flashed the firmware?
Also, your phone says H at the top right? Not 4G? Lol.
The LT28at doesn't support AWS uplink HSPA+ btw.

I am getting LTE now I fixed it in the settings LT28at does support LTE AWS and been using LTE on AWS for T-Mobile.
So my screen with *#*#7378423#*#* -> configuration shows the following:
"Working band/s:"
GSM 850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS_BC1 (2100), UMTS_BC2 (1900), UMTS_BC4 (1700), UMTS_BC5(850), LTE_BC4 (AWS which T-Mobile uses), LTE_BC17 (700 AT&T)
Also Once the Flashed LT28i baseband the default was set to WCDMA preferred that is why I could not get LTE. But I fixed it with *#*#4636#*#* and set it to LTE (preferred)/WCDMA/GSM

2100 UMTS_BC1 is actually T-Mobile's downlink
1700 UMTS_BC4 is T-Mobile uplink. :good:

That's correct. Then the question is, does flashing the baseband actually change the frequencies used by the phone? I didn't think it did but now it sounds like flashing the international baseband enables the 1700 frequency.

It seems so. The original a authors of the threads are the ones to give credits to. I was simply asking how to enable LTE back after the international baseband flash. Everything works great! 1900 bands picks up really well for 1900 band reframed on T-Mobile. When I get into a zone with AWS1700/2100 it changes over pretty quickly. As for LTE, it picks it up whenever the LTE is available. Currently I am using Open Signal's widget to see what kind of bands it picks up.

I'm considering the Ion for my next phone for T-Mobile. So can you tell me are you happy with the LT28AT on T-Mobile? Are you getting 4G and LTE?
I have a t889v running rooted stock 4.4.2 build #kot49h t889vvludnh2, which is the newest build for my phone, i'm trying to mod the battery percentage, i want it to be larger in size so i can see it better. I have tried various mods on the exposed installer i.e. wanam etc. none seem to work, so i would like to use root explorer and change the setting in build prop, the problem is i don't know where to look. if anyone knows where i need to go and what lines to adjust it would be much appreciated. thanks in advance

Do you happen to know what is new with the t889vvludnh2 ROM? I can't find any information anywhere on this update. My assumption was that LTE was enabled. But I am not sure.

i don't see much deference between this and the last rom. I don't see LTE anywhere in the network selection it's still gsm or wcdma
edit: just went into service mode and there is awhole bunch 0f LTE bands, so it seems we have LTE now. For service mode type *#2263# into the dialer and you should see a screen come up with all the band selection. i'm on wind so we do not have LTE service so there is no way to test if LTE works.

I have a windmobile T889v unlocked as well. I am currently in the states and I tried a T-Mobile sim card and did not get LTE. Only 3G. Maybe the LTE bands enabled on our phones are only for the videotron LTE bands?
Hopefully, someone on videotron can chime in.
I will try to get hold of ATT sim card to try.

Which APN did you use? Which part of the US were you in? Not all areas are covered by LTE service.
I am in LA.
It was the APN that was pre-programmed into the T-Mobile sim card. I didn't modify anything. My buddies Nexus 5 was getting LTE and he didn't program any APNs either.
While at the same location when I swapped it in my T889V I only saw 3G (in settings > about I saw HSPA and HSPA+). But def not LTE.

I got a hold of an ATT sim card with LTE service, and only got 3G speeds. Tested the speed on the T889v and an LTE enabled phone with the speed test app. So on T889v def 3G(HSPA) speeds, while on the LTE device LTE like speeds.
Anyone know which LTE band videotron enabled? I thought it was Band 4 (AWS band).
The only other thing I can think of is that the I am using the Windmobile firmware update for T889V and perhaps the version for Videotron is different even though the baseband is the same version.
I had been assuming that Videotron, WIndmobile and Mobilicity were all using the same firmware since the baseband is exactly the same.
Anyone with Videotron T889V with stock baseband upgrade getting LTE speeds?
