Is this phone worth buying at this point?

Hey guys, i've currently got an HTC Sensation 4G... Now, don't get me wrong.. I LOVE this phone. It's great... However, I am looking to move to a phone that at least has an official JB update on the horizon. (The Sensation will never get official JB) I also like that this phone has the 16gb internal storage, a slightly bigger screen (less resolution though?), and the 1gb ram opposed to the 768mb of the Sensation... Is it worth it at this point to grab this phone for $50?

For 50$? Hell yea it's an improvement over the sensation even if we never get official JB. I'd go for it. But if you're planning on getting a brand new handset just spring for the gsIII. Like I said though, $50 is a steal.

Since your getting a person to buy it from and not signing a contract that is a epic deal for 50$. But if your contract does expire soon I think the new Nexus phone for T-Mobile comes out Nov. 17th if I'm not mistaken? You can save up for that, I doubt it will be above anything like 300$ on release with contract.

I don't think anyone will sell this phone for $50 unless broken
If tmobile subsidized price that's make sense but then there will be contract or etf fee.

It is on contract, it's an upgrade... As far as all of the new phones go.. I really don't need something insane. I just can't deal with the 768mb ram that this phone has, it really cripples it. I'm sure I'll be happy with the SGSII for a while as I planned on having my Sensation for at least another year to year and a half. Also, this phone has a 2mpx ffc whereas the sensation has a stupid 0.3mpx VGA camera. Ugh. Plus, this time next year I'm eligible for an upgrade (this upgrade was done on another line). There are other various improvements that I have noted as well.. NFC support, official jelly bean support next month sometime (If they aren't lying. Heh.) Not to mention, I love the way the white one looks. Hehe.

yeah its worth it

Since it's going to lock you in for 2 years, I would probably get something better if I were you, if the extra $150 or so is not an issue. I don't think you'll be happy with it by the end of two years.
Truthfully I would buy the S3 or Note 2, sell it for $600 and buy the Nexus 4 for $350

I preordered from ATT. Got it on November 9th and it has been my daily driver since. The first thing I did was put a screen protector on it and put it in a case (OEM Samsung) I received my Seidio Surface combo last Saturday and am all set!
I loved my OG Galaxy Note, but I love the GN2 more! It is so much smoother and has so many more capabilities. My wife has a SGSIII so the phones work well together sharing media etc. I take notes at work, so this is THE device for me. The battery life seems to be outstanding so far. Have not seen it below 30% or so in a regular 12 hour day.

Picked an ATT version up on ebay for $599 total. Love it so far.

What color are you guys getting? $599 is the best price I've seen so far. I was hoping for a BF/CM discount but no such luck yet.

Got mine from Best Buy price matched as well, thought about switching to the Nexus 4, then noticed the screen is tiny. Once you have a 5.5" screen nothing else seems right.

I have a N4 on order but the longer I wait the less interested I am in it. If I was on T-Mobile? Sure. Done deal. But as long as el Diablo doesn't fire me for my unlimited data plan the lack of LTE is a deal breaker. It's not so much the LTE as it's the throttling. On the LTE plan it goes to HSPA, EDGE on the Nexus.

I got mine for $550 off Craigslist.

I bought mine no commitment and when my wife touched it I had to order another no commitment. $649.99 each but absolutely no regrets. This phablet is worth every penny. I feel its a great upgrade from the Note.

Where is this magical offer? How are you guys getting this?

Sold iphone 5 on craigslist for 850. Bought international Note 2 on craigslist for 600. Sold international Note 2 on craigslist for 600. Bought AT&T Note 2 for 650 + tax. Had it for two weeks and love it more than any phone I've tried. I usually flip a phone every 2 months. I can see myself keeping this one a year. Never tried the original note. Now that ive tried the Note 2 I dont think I can go back to a regular phone

Got mine off of Ebay brand new with the fancy flip cover (grey) for $660.00 & free shipping (before AT&T had them in the store, went to the Samsung site and got a quote for upgrading (trade in my Galaxy Note) and got a promise (it is in process) of $375.00 for sending in my old Note (which is $75.00 MORE than I paid AT&T for it).
So I end up getting a new Note 2 for $285.00 Off contract, now just waiting for my rebate card from Samsung.

Forgot about Samung trade in program. I have my original Note sitting at this point collecting dust. Do they just mail you a check?

I paid $550 + tax off contract at at&t. I just asked nicely if they might be able to knock something off for me.
So far I like it better than my so although my touchscreen is less responsive on this.

Go to best buy and have them match Fry's at 99.99 then tell them you signed up for the freedom program in January and they will give you $50 off. They will tell you "its not coming up in our system", just assure them that you did sign up for it. The system is kinda broken so they'll take your word for it. I got 3 of them yesterday for everyone on my family plan. Fantastic deal.

And has literally almost no mark up at all on tvs or computers. In fact they often sell those items below cost. They make that money back in upselling those horribly priced accessories.
Regardless, I have no stock in them, I just find it frustrating when people abuse the system and straight up lie. That could cost someone their job, I've seen it happen.

Frys is now $149 w/ 2-year contract. I know because I went there yesterday and found they upped the price (which stopped me from upgrading).

I got my G Pro for $99 at the AT&T store, too my dad's old impulse, and they gave me a $100 credit. On their system, the Impulse 4G was worth $6!! Can you believe that!

Best buy will price match that and you can trade you old phone in to att. Then it's only 49.00 plus tax. Personally I just sell my old phone but either way.

I understand about BB price matching Fry's, but then how do you go about trading in your old phone to AT&T. Doesn't AT&T give you the money for your old phone ONLY if you purchase a new one from them? Or are you saying that BB will buy your old AT&T phone just like the corporate store will?
Edit: I just went to Fry's website and I saw Verizon, T-Mo, and Sprint, but no AT&T. So, if no AT&T, then how does one get a OGPro from them?

Att sales the og pro. I got mine from them. You can sell your phone to Att or bestbuy both of them will buy old phones. I saw the add for att buy back at Best buy and Att and their website. Just give Att a call or best buy. I've sold my old phones to best buy before its just Att says you'll get atleast 100.00 best buy goes by the age of the phone and condition.

I know this is pretty stupid, but I purchased the OG pro at full retail price 22 days ago. I called at&t to see if I could exchange the black for the white and they would not budge. I know they have their 14 day policy but they can't make an exception? I even talked to a supervisor and he was pretty uselss.

Who knows, it seems like LG Optimus G Pro is selling poorly ... I've picked up one in white this morning for 400$ + tax at AT&T retail store. I thought it is selling at 439$, but the CSR showed me the screen (kind of didn't wanted to sell it for 400$ thinking that is mistake).

Is it a flip cover? You can still see the front if it's not. White looks so classy I would definitely do it if I could but I got my phone about a month and a half ago

Heres the deal. The reason u got the phone for 400.00, as did I, is because of the new upgrade feature they are running. At&t next. I bought lg og pro for 400.00, and htc one for 540.00! Saved 100.00 bucks. The at&t rep told me i got a deal, and that they werent supposed to sale them to me for that price, unless i was due for a 12 month upgrade. Hell im not even an at&t customer! I use these phones on my straight talk sim.
Anyways, hope that cleared up the price confusion. If i were u guys looking to buy a phone right out.....i would jump on this before at&t fixes the price in their system.
Edit.....there is no sales tax here in montana, so i paid 400.00 straight up.

So, you are saying that the system is confusing the price with the price for the "Next" thingie that they've announced. Ha!
I can't complain for the 400$ price, but at the same time got me worried; it seemed to me that ATT is trying to clear the stock so the they can discontinue the product. I know, it doesn't make any sense, especially now that they've released the white one and G2 is on the horizon, but sometimes ATT is weird player.
Anyhow, in june i got the black one, but i've returned it because i didn't like the color (hate fingerprints everywhere). Now that i have the color that i like, i guess i'll stick with it ... But this price weirdness confused me, to be honest ...

Ya, thats what the sales rep told me. Lol. Im sure the glitch will b fixed soon, thats y i bought both phones when i did. Lol. I always had a htc ONE, but i recently sold it, so i got another. I love both of these phones. The LG screen is amazing. Especially for watching videos. And the ONE build quality, is hands down "the best". I will eventually sale one, and keep the other. Im really hoping development will kick off for this og pro, cuz i really love it. One would think at the 400.00 price tag, we would have a ton of users, and development.

I hear ya. I had a SGS4 from bestbuy before the black LGOGP i had, and i've noticed some crush on the black color while watching movies. I saw the same thing on their floor display and on the ATT's floor display too. So, i've chickened out and returned it. Bestbuy didn't charge me restocking fee, that was good ... The point i'm trying to make is, the screen on LGOGP is absolutely the best one in my experience. Hopefully the CM10.1 port will get ironed out soon ...

Ya, that would b nice. But im not a cm guy. I like this stock rom, and i liked the hyperdrive sgs4 rom for the s4 a lot. Its a stock look and feel rom, with all the features, plus a whole lot of extra features. Im not willing to give up the features in this stock rom, hopefully soon, we will see a stock based rom, with extra features, and mods.

This thread cost me $35. I just bought a black one Aug. 17th. I found out from here a week later that they carry white now. I had asked them if they were going to come out with a white one and they told me no.

I would use that against them. I had an lgog an asked before I Vichy it over three phone if they had a phone bigger coming sun that wasn't as pricey as the note 2 and was told no. 1 week later g pro came. I called and complained plus the Lady saw the log. Sent me this bad boy and a return box for the lgog.

Im trying to decide if I should get the nexus 7 on black Friday from best buy. I have $50 certificate and the wifi is only $229. So its very tempting.
But Im hoping for a new 10" model with lte.
I was thinking about getting both. The decision are tough. Cause I want the lte function.

Staple has coupon code that works the same, just bought one for myself. Go to staple and use coupon code "18702", works for any tablet over $149. Not sure how long it will last but you can always return it later.

You can get that price any day at best buy. Why in the world would you go in on black Friday.

Well I work at Best Buy and can tell you it's not a black friday deal (they have had the ad on the website for a few weeks now) Cyber Monday I don't know. They were selling the 16 gb for $199 last week but the sale was only a day or two. Best Buy does price match pretty much anywhere so if you see any for cheaper online bring in the ad and they'll price match it.
If you have a $50 gift card to go towards it, its definitely worth the extra few bucks to get double the memory. My 2 cents anyways. Good luck with your purchase!
Nexus 10 is sexy though so may be worth the wait!
EDIT* After Re-Reading what I wrote, I don't want you to think this was a shameless best buy plug, he mentioned he had a $50 gift card there so I figured that's where he would want to purchase it! Thought I would clear that up lol.

Once again "rumor" it was to be announced soon and be available for the holiday season.
Guy from best buy, was that what the ad was a one day sale? I saw the unlocked lte version for $319 and then the next day it was back to $349. I was pist I didn't pyll the trigger.

Guy from best buy, was that what the ad was a one day sale? I saw the unlocked lte version for $319 and then the next day it was back to $349. I was pist I didn't pyll the trigger.

I think it was a 1 day sale. I didn't even see it advertised. I only knew about it because our Google rep had told me in store. I will tell you that if you just buy one now that you should have until January 14th to do 1 price adjustment if they do lower it during that time since we're in the holiday season.

That's a whopping 8.6% discount. But it's still a savings of $30.

I went and got it for $349. Pist, but I got the $25 play credit. Im s till hopping for a price drop to see off they would honor it, from what the best buy guy said a few posts back.

I wasn't going to update my 7(especially after just getting a nexus 5). But then I saw googles free shipping offer +$25 store credit and seriously started considering it since my old nexus 7 felt so slow compared to my new phone.
Then I saw 32GB on sale at Nebraska Furniture Mart on black Friday for $225. At that point I decided with all the OT I've been putting in at work I deserved it.
While it doesn't compare to my phone in fluidity, speed and smoothness, it's definitely a nice upgrade from the old 7.
