I know everyone has their own preferences and reasons for using a particular launcher, but I love the smoothness of the stock launcher and have modded mine enough that to me it is just as good as any other launcher. My only issue now is the placement of the all apps icon. I've been working for about a week and a half trying to find the code that forces the icon to the far right and have come so close to pinning it down but still haven't found a solution. I know that it could easily be fixed in the ICS seclauncher, but the JB one seems to use a completely different method of putting that icon in a foreign layout position.
I've been reading the actual java code in eclipse on one screen, and making my smali edits on another. Logcatting has been the most help, but now I'm totally stumped. If anyone else has attempted this, please share any info you might have.

I am looking for a relatively simple theme for stock ICS, all I want are things like the app circle, (if possible) the google bar at the top, text, and everythingelse possible in ICS Blue/black and if it isn't a pain, have the home screen horizontal scroll bar black with a blue curser like in the app menu. I have tried changing some of the .png files but don't know the location of all the files nor know how to edit .9.png files. It should be easy for anyone with half a brain, maybe time consuming though with all the files to change. If anyone can give me a detailed tutorial (haven't found a really easy-to-follow one yet) or make it for me, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
(This is technically a question, however I think it best fits this section. If this is the wrong section I'll report it to a mod.)
Bump also forgot to add I'm running the newest AOKP (26).
I tend to customize ROMs to suit my tastes a little better and one of my biggest peeves is the alarm icon that shows in the status bar when you have any alarms set. I'm used to removing in GB, but from what I've seen the way to disable it has changed in ICS.
Would anyone that knows how to remove this be willing to offer some advice? I'm familiar with decompiling APKs and editing .smali files and whatnot.
PS I don't want to just delete the icon, I don't even want the space left up there.

From what I've read it is a smali edit in systemui. However, I think the smali code changed drastically between ICS 4.0.3 and 4.0.4. Where I was able to reference and make changes to 4.0.3, the code is completely different on 4.0.4 so if you find out anything, please let us know. Any other mods you come across too btw.
However, I've discovered that certain smalis from 4.0.3 CAN be changed and replaced in 4.0.4. I found this thread here by Datajosh that does a different status bar edit for the AM/PM removal for reference:

Edit: Umm, please make sure you have a current backup before messing around with systemui.
Oh btw, deleting the alarm png file does work btw. But not the proper way of course.
Hi,
I'm looking to make some changes on the Sense Lockscreen. My only problem is, that i never made this before. So i need some help from you to get it working.
First of all i know a bit of programing, so i'm not a 100% noob. I know c, c++, matlab, assambler.
I looked at the smali code at the idlebase.apk. For me it looks a bit like assambler. When i tryed to remove the ring bouncing the whole lockscreen had still all weather animations, but doesn't react on touch (removed my changes again)
What i'm looking for is:
1. change unlockposition from the shortcuts,
2. change the moving direction from the shortcuts,
3. make the weatherbackground taking the image from homescreen (like stock lockscreen),
4. remove the moving clock when touching somewhere at screen.
I found some functions like unlock(), or unlock(I). But there are only variables v1 p1, v2 p2,...
So where are the positions declared??
I really hope some devs are willing to share their experience with me.

I have used several from which all have the same issue, the "Edit Page" in landscape mode is off as well the folder preview in Landscape mode in the App Drawer is off as well.
These may be easy fixes for some but for others it may not. I was offered help in fixing these issues and hopefully many, as I, will learn off of it. Hoping in providing the fixes and code modifications here as well as added mods done to the Stock Launcher.
I have looked and the closest I have seen to a S5 Launcher coming close with everything is the launcher posted by member xxxcachepxxx here which is at 240 DPI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714071
If there is a complete launcher please let me know, I have not found one as of yet.

Thanks for the background info. Sounds like some xml edits are needed. So basically you are trying to achieve a fully functioning landscape enabled S5 Launcher? From my past experiences with landscape launchers, some apps and widgets also need to be modified. I remember doing this on HTC EVO with tommytomatoe a few years ago. Ofcourse HTC Sense is completely different but the fundamentals are the same. I have seen another landscape S5 launcher project somewhere here on XDA. I'll post link when I find it.
Here's the one I found that looks like a lot of work has been done thus far... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708234
Find me on Google Hangouts so we can compare notes and I can get caught up with your progress and current area your working on. [email protected].
Hello. I hope this is the right forum for this question.
My Xperia Z went bust after two years of faithful service and yesterday I took a risk and picked up the Huawei P8lite. The phone is absolutely gorgeous, but I am having some issues with Nova Launcher.
First off, the soft keys and notification bar aren't transparent. They are when I use the stock launcher (so the device is obviously capable of doing so), and they were on my Xperia Z using Nova Launcher. Non-transparent soft keys and notification bar makes the screen look smaller and cluttered, which utterly spoils the overall experience.
Is there a way around this? If I root the phone, can this be fixed? I have never rooted a device before so if this helps, where can I find the run-down on rooting?
Second, changing icons. When I try to change an icon on the homescreen (again, with Nova Launcher) only a handful of icons from the icon pack shows up on the list. There are clear gaps in the list where a bunch of icons should be.
Again, these were both non-issues on my Xperia Z.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix these things? For the icons I realize I can use an app like Icon Changer, but with Nova Launcher I shouldn't have to. And as for the soft key and notification bar I realize I can hide them entirely, but I don't want to do that. I just want them to be transparent.
I greatly appreciate any help. I'm on Android 5.0, and I can post screenshots if needed.
Okay, so the phone got an update the other day and that fixed the problem with the icons.
However, the soft keys (and less importantly, the notification bar) still aren't transparent. Does anyone know what to do about this?
You know you live in the first world when this drives you insane
try different themes if that helps !!

In Settings go to the navigation control and it should be to the left on the switch. Move it to the right. Not only did that make the Nav bar clear, but also allows me to hide it.
Hope it helps.
