S Pen keyboard/S Note support in AOSP/CM based ROMs? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Are there any AOSP or CM based ROMs that also have the S Pen keyboard, S Note, and general S Pen support? Tweaked is a great ROM, but I miss me some CyanogenMod. Thanks.

Nope. Spen, snote, are closed sourced from Samsung. Have you tried different apps? Write? Papyrus?

Actually more interested in having something like the S Pen keyboard than a note taking app.

[Q] Where to find AOSP Themes for Touchwiz?

Does anybody know where I can find an AOSP theme? I've asking because I don't want to move to CM10/AOKP and features that i can only get with touchwiz.
Hopefully something like this i found in the verizon forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122219
Just switch your launcher to something like Nova

Check out Morphology, you can theme it your way.

That looks sweet. I wonder if we could get this.
Morphology won't theme it to AOSP. Morphology really only does colors

Oh well..guess i'll have to bite the bullet and flash an aosp rom and find apps to emulate the touchwiz features i use.

You could just ask the dev of that rom if you could port it over. Or theme it yourself. Thats what I did on my note 2.
I like to break stuff!
I like the menu. Best aosp themed menu I've seen

[Q] Is it possible to get multi-view on ParanoidKangDroid ROM

I have the ParanoidKangDroid v.2.30 ROM. I saw that they updated the stock TouchWiz which allows you to have multi view on the s3. I want multi-view on my ROM, is it possible?

the stock TW you speak of is 4.1.2 and includes mulitview on the international stock firmware only.
for a custom ROM with that feature, you will have to flash one in which the framework allows. there are a couple in android dev section. i'm not sure of their stability. i've heard good things about csrom thebmb

Likely not. As a TW feature, it is dependent on the entire framework.

Didn't really like CSROM to well because it seemed like a basic themed TW, I was hoping it would come with more features like PIE or different UI's.
however if it had features like paranoid androids roms then i'd take it. I like to have the Tablet UI and PIE controls which is why I stick with AOSP, AOKP. Could someone speak with a developer about porting Multi-View to AOSP?
I appreciate everyone's help!

As long as source code for TW stays unreleased its impossible to port. That's why no devs bother to try and port. Its going in blindfolded. Same with Sense and other UI overlays. So when Samsung releases source code it'll be possible.

Android 4.2 and S Pen

Are there any ROMs currently available that support the S Pen that are android 4.2+? I've done a bit of searching and whatnot but I haven't been able to find anything yet.
Barring that, I've also been curious about how Paranoid Android is on the Note 2? Anything to mention on this subject?

^ what he said.
Pen will work but all the things the pen was designed for are dependant on TW framework and do not work with anything else.
My opinion on the Note 2 it is stupid to not run TW based roms. They have better battery and more functionality. With as many themes as we have you can make TW roms look like any other if you know what you are doing.

Google Play Galaxy Note Possible?

What are the chances of getting a pure Google edition Note? I think it would be a great option. I love my TW Note but am definitely interested in the Google edition especially when it comes to the firmware updates. Hopefully this will be an option with the next note model. What do you all think? Roms are great but sometimes you have to give something up to get something else with roms.

I think the chances are slim to none. If I am not mistaken, the S Pen is dependent on TW.
The pen works fine on aosp, only thing you lose are gestures

There is also so much more functionality you would lose..
I can't see it ever happening. The spen features are the major selling point of this phone for Samsung
It defeats the purpose of the note in whole. Plus why when you could just flash a Google rom and flash back to tw whenever you want. Before the note 2 I would have said yes I used to always flash cm or non tw roms but with note 2 tw is much better.

Hmm, I guess I hadn't really thought about the spen features and functionality. I guess when it comes down to it it's because I don't use it that much. I take notes here and there but that's about it. I just really like the size of the note. I used to flash roms before the note but I agree tw on this baby just works.

And of course you can get back the gestures if willing to spend a few dollars for an app, such as GMD SPen Control. (You do not however get back SNote or any Samsung apps)

[Q] 4.4 with no Spen or Multiwindow?

Does that not defeat the point of the Note 2?? Without SPen or Multiwindow its just an S3? Seems a little silly to me...
I am waiting for a Cyanogen based mod with both features and 4.4 KitKat.
BTW whats up with the goofy toggles in KitKat?? The old one were much better.

For those that use the pen it defeats the purpose. I never used the pen. The screen size and battery life is what attracted me. What goofy toggles?

The point is, if you are going to cut out SPen and multiwindow on the Note 2 then why would you buy a Note 2 in the first place. Its those 2 features that make the phone what it is. I tried the Cyanogenmod......but I could not use the features that I normally use everyday, or at least had to load a hack to make them somewhat functional. If I didnt need the Spen or multiwindow I would have bought an S4.

Omni rom has multiwindow (more like split view)
Every aosp rom doesn't natively support Spen and Touchwiz multiwindow. Like I said, if you want all Spen functions And real multiwindow you must flash a Touchwiz rom. I don't think aosp roms are what your looking for
