Hello, shame on me for being a noob and doing things i probably shouldn't have...
I rooted my Note 2 ( N7100, german version) like described in dr kaitans thread and it worked fine. Then i flashed PAC Rom using TWRP and that also worked fine. Now i wanted to install a stock Rom from Kaitans Thread and that's when the drama began. i installed the stock rom using odin (successful) which rebooted the phone after finishing and until then i'm stuck in a bootloop, where the samsung logo (animation with the blue cirle around it) keeps coming over and over again.
I cant seem to get into recovery mode, but i'm able to get into download mode. to turn off, i have to remove the battery.
Please help me guys, i'm desperate. :crying:
Its common when you flash stock ROM on custom
just reboot to recovery
wipe cache
wipe data
I can't seem to get to recovery. i tried volume down + home + power, but this leads to the screen with the white letters saying "samsung galaxy note II" but nothing more. do i have to do something different?
For recovery vol up + home + power
once you see samsung text release power
---------- Post added at 02:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:20 PM ----------
If you are unable to get into recovery
reboot to download mode and flash this
http://d-h.st/5ai
then try to reboot to recovery then wipe cache and data
after wipe cache and wipe date, what do i have to do next or am i finished then?
when i'm on stock, can i flash customs and if is there a procedure you can recommend?
sorry for all the questions. do you have any link where the whole rooting thing is explained for people like me?
After wiping it should boot normally
Here is link for Installation ROM and post #2 is for rooting details
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696
Don't be so down, it always happens.
just do what dr.ketan said.
instead of Vol down + home + power (which is download) press Vol up + home + power
but i think a dalvik and cache wipe is enough (no need to wipe data)
P.S : you can just hold the power button to turn off your phone instead of pulling out the battery.
Hope i helped.
No i'm not able to turn it down by using the power button. had to pull the battery.
I had exactly the same problem yesterday(i dont let me go to recovery mode, only download), i am very noob in this flashing stuff, the way i fixed it was with kies, theres a guide on the forums "how to get to stock rom with kies" or something like that. I got the bootloop again, however i could go to recovery mode and wipe cache/data.
Hi you awesome people, thank you so much for helping me. i was able to solve my problems with your help.
one last (off topic, sorry for that) question: can anyone recommend me a rom which is highly customisable when it comes to design and optics.
Hi, I have the exact same problem, bootloop after flashing stock rom. I am able to enter stock recovery, cleared cache and reset data. Still cannot boot. Went back to odin mode and reflashed stock rom, still the same. Please help.

Stuck in same issue after upgade to V* from Ver 6.1
Hi ketan,
I am facing the same issue after upgrade to V8 from V6.1
Facing the same even after clear data / cache and even after re flash.
Please suggest.
Thank you Dr. Ketan.
I had same problem after I flashed stock ROM through ODIN over custom ROM (DN4). It PASSED the operation, but went into bootloop. Just SAMSUNG flashing Dim and Bright and occasionally the button lights comes ON and OFF.
Rebooted to Recovery...(VOL. UP + POWER + CENTER BUTTON) Remember to release the Power Button once you see Samsung Text, but keep pressing the other two buttons...release when you see recovery options list. After the above, I cleared cache but no success.
Then I cleared data and cache "both" and it worked like a charm!
Thank you Dr... You saved my device.

It's a long story to tell but I'll say it anyway.
So for a while I've been having problems with CM7 but I've always been able to fix them by going back to my previous rom (Bombaridier 3.5). The thing is I absolutely love CM7 so I always try to go back to that rom and pray that I don't have a problem with it. So yesterday I was able to flash it with no problems. I made my backups and everything was alright for the day. I fell asleep watching a movie on the phone and this morning I found that the battery was depleted. I thought "okay" and just turned it back on. I boot it to find it stuck in an infinite boot loop. I had this problem once before and I just fixed it by installing Bombaridier 3.5 back on through Clockwork Recovery. Usually when I have an infinite boot loop, I can't fix it by fixing permissions or restoring from a backup (they would boot back into the infinite loop before even beginning) so either a data wipe or a complete installation of another rom would fix it, but this time, rom installation and data wiping faced the same issue so it also booted into the infinite loop. I tried looking through the forums and google for a solution but nothing came up. In a last ditch of effort I tried restoring to my unroot stock rom and this time it was able to boot to the main screen, but only for about 5 seconds. After that it continued to the infinite loop. I tried to go into the Clockwork Recovery menu, but little did I know the unroot stock rom made my recovery a stock recovery, so I can't do anything with roms and backups. The stock recovery had the option to wipe data but when I tried to do that, it literally did nothing (as in the power button had no effect on the options). So now I'm stuck on a stock recovery while on an infinite loop CM7. Since I know rooting and using roms voids my warranty, is there any solution to this problem?
Okay I was able to go into download mode and root again so now I have Clockwork Recovery back, but I still have the same problem when trying to fix permissions, wipe data, and restoring a rom (infinite boot loop) so can someone please help me out?

Have you tried:
- Taking out the battery, plug your charger into the computer, plug the usb charger into your phone and then putting in the battery.
- In recovery mode try using the "Home" button to select factory data reset
- Get into download mode and Odin restore to stock
Hope this helps

thank you for the first reply but since i'm back to clockwork recovery i can't factory reset or it will boot back into the infinite loop during the proccess. Since I can access download mode, how do I restore back to a stock rom using odin?
fully bricked and you can get into clockwork recovery?
lol that's a first...try to describe your problem properly before asking for help..if you have clockwork recovery just load a stable rom(like eagles blood) onto a sd card and flash away(after wiping everything..duh)

If you read I explained in detail how I couldn't flash a ROM, wipe data, fix permissions, or restore from backup because they would
all end the same way, cutting off and rebooting into the infinite boot loop. Luckily I was able to fix it by flashing a stock ROM through Odin in download mode but this would have never helped. Thanks for the effort but next time read it carefully.

fully bricked means you can't turn it on..let alone get into recovery
if you could get into recovery then anything could be fixed..pretty much.
there is no reading it carefully or not, watch the terms you use when you describe a problem because brick=/=being able to get into recovery..it is called recovery for a reason.
now just to explain to you what brick means, here's definition from wikipedia
When used in reference to consumer electronics, "brick" describes a device that cannot function in any capacity (such as a device with damaged firmware). This usage derives from the fact that some electronic devices (and their detachable power supplies) are vaguely brick-shaped, and so those which do not function are useful only as actual bricks. The term can also be used as a verb. For example, "I bricked my MP3 player when I tried to modify its firmware."[1]
your deviced turned on and got into recovery, that is no where near being bricked..not even a soft brick.

I tried but I still get the same problem. Maybe Im doing something wrong. I put the phone in download mode, open Odin, plug it in, click PDA, choose the stock I got from the SamMobile site, and it runs completely but then gets stuck on reboot at the Samsung logo still.
go into stock recovery by powering on the phone while holding home and volume up, then choose the option to wipe cache, then reboot.
Agreed. I had a similar issue the other day. I ended up wiping cache in samsung recovery, and if that doesn't work, wipe data factory reset. I tried rebooting, but it still got stuck at the samsung logo. I then flashed CWM recovery or TWRP recovery through ODIN and then download another rom. Do a factory reset within the new recovery / wipe cache/ wipe dalvik/ wipe system/ and then flash the new rom. That will get it to boot.
Moral of the story is to not freak out too much. You're not in trouble.

The wiping is key

Hello.
I tried my very first flash on my very first Android with RebelRom 3 and now my screen and touch keys won't work. I tried restoring the backup I made but it still won't work
I used CWM to wipe cache then wipe factory settings then I applied the .zip I then read that you had to wipe dalvik cache. I wiped cache then dalvik cache then factory settings. But I remembered I read that you wiped system. I wiped system and data and wiped cache, dalvik cache, and factory settings. Then RebelRom worked but touch won't work. I did steps same as above then I restored backup from external sd. It boots normally but touch still doesn't work. What should I do? In what order do I do the wiping? Can I have from A-Z guide on this as this is my first Android and flash.
I don't have too much experience.. but i'm having my Galaxy W for 3 months and i've flashed Custom Roms over 20 times and this problem never happened to me..
So if you got no help here.. i think you should restore your STOCK Rom , flash the STOCK recovery and Make sure your device is UNROOTED..
and get it to Samsung
And If you want to know when to wipe system and data and wipe cache..etc
You should always follow the instructions ,, and it is not bad to wipe factory settings and Cache everytime before flashing new Rom [As i do]
And anyone correct me if i'm wrong
Flash stock rom using Odin
If flashing new stock rom doesn't fix your problem, go to Samsung center.
Btw, flashing using Odin will make your device unrooted back.

You can try this:
Download any other ROM to your phone.
1) shut off phone
2) press volume up and home keys and press power
3) when you see CWM, release these keys
4) wipe everyting
5) install ROM
6) reboot
If the problem isn't solved, try download to your PC any firmware, pressing volume down, home key enter to Download mod and flash original samsung firmware.
If the problem isn't solved yet, go to the service center.
Good Luck
Hi Guys,
Im having a problem flashing the Android Revolution to my Phone. I cannot post in the development thread because im really really new, but i've been reading a lot and did not expected this problem at all.
Here's the story.
i have a n7100 JB 4.1.1 rooted
just recently i managed to flash CWM recovery v6.0.1.9 to my phone without any problems using the Galaxy note 2 Toolkit v3
As i was reading the installation guide for ARHD, i have copied the AHRD zip in my external SD about 859mb
booted to recovery mode and wiped data, wiped cache, and wiped dalvik cache
so i thought i was ready to flash the rom....
rebooted to recovery mode after wiping datas and chose install zip from sd card and zip from external sdcard, of course i chose the ARHD zip, confirmed yes Install.
Now here's the big problem, when the aroma installer opens and as i was going thru the process everything would suddenly freeze and gets stuck so i couldn't complete all the process. first time it happened was right after selecting which google apps to install and when asked which samsung apps to remove it suddenly froze waited about 10 mins and still nothing. So i rebooted to recovery mode Volup+home+power and repeated the process but still freezes. sometimes it happens in the "agree" to terms sometimes back to google apps, it happens randomly.. Now i can't install the rom please help me...
Thanks in Advance

hey thanks for replying! well the problem is i couldn't even go to the wipe option in aroma because it freezes from the agree terms, i was able to check wipe option in aroma but after that next step the phone freezes in the select apps to install.
as for the superwipe, i have wiped data, cache, dalvik cache from the start... do i still really need that? and i read confirming that superwipe isn't working for CWM 6.0.1.9
Try some other recovery like twrp or philz touch.

thanks utkarsh for clearing that up. anyway i think this case is an example of a bad download of the rom.
I thought i'll never be able to load up the phone since i did data wipes but when the phone is able to pass the samsung logo, it was just back to factory reset. but surprisingly SuperUser is already installed lols. so i downloaded Criskello Rom instead and that worked. almost gave me a heart attack there. BTW, Criskelo rom is awesome!

think yourself lucky. i have been tryna download ARHD for 2 days. takes 5 mins before the download even appears and just stays on starting when using firefox. Anyone know of any problems? cant post in the official ARHD thread as not enough posts
My friend wanted me to root his phone. Everything went fine. Then I restarted the phone, got into CWM recovery and now it keeps bootlooping. I can't do anything because the volume keys are missing for some reason. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Try wiping cache and Dalvik in recovery.
Still not working. I think it's because I tried installing a custom ROM? Idk.
Did you do a full wipe before installing the custom ROM? You can try going back into recovery and wiping cache, Dalvik, and data.
Yup. I did all 3 of em like 5 times already. And I'm assuming there's no fix for it. I can't use the volume keys so I can't do download or safe mode.
Since the phone is still able to boot except for being able to use the volume keys, you could use a jig to get into download and flash a stock ROM via Odin as long as the phone was not running the stock 4.3 bootloader.
Where can I find a stock ROM? I've tried sam mobile but it keeps saying the file could not be found.
Search here for the i747 firmware: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
