Hey all
I have noticed on my note 2 mp4 video is no longer smooth. I have tried to play the same clips on my s2 and they play fine. I am Rooted running the PACMan rom is there something I am missing?
I'm on Jedi IX and the latest Perseus kernel..and my video has never ran any smoother...nor looked and sounded as great.
The controls given with this kernel through STweaks is second too none..
Can't say what is going on with your set up...but I certainly would check out other roms & kernels...

Is there anyway to get it running better? As the gnex is a top end device I would've expected most games to play very well so is this a hardware issue or the app? There is only Mario kart that I can get at a playable level.
On stock rom mario Kart plays just about perfect but on custom (gummy) although the video is OK the audio cuts every few seconds

it may be your ROM... i know i was having similar troubles and i used a different ROM and it worked better
This is starting as a question, and will eventually be edited to a all in one reference thread.
I know there are SEVERAL, POORLY organized Game compatibility threads in the Themes and App section. The OP no longer owns an A100, and the threads are not kept updated and the information is not very well organized. Meaning users say they work, but did not state how they got the game to run.
What I am seeking from active A100 owners is full information on the games you run, and how you got them to run. Credit will be given to those willing to help with my new reference thread.
So, I would like for "active" owners is to post or PM me with this detail:
The Game Title
The ROM you are using (Stock, Modded Stock, CM9, CM10)
The Kernel you are using
Any kind of setting changes to the ROM/Operating System to force the game to run
If the game is succesfully playable <---(let me expand on this, just because a game shows up in the play store after, say, a build.prop swap, DOES NOT MEAN THE GAME IS PLAYABLE!)
PLEASE ONLY POST GAMES THAT ARE ACTUALLY PLAYABLE! JUST BECAUSE THE GAME OPENS DOES NOT MEAN IT IS PLAYABLE! ARE YOU ABLE TO LOAD INTO THE GAME AND PLAY?
My Testing Thus Far: (if you have gotten the game to play whereas I say it hasn't, please provide FULL detail!)

Not sure this is in the proper section but...
I have my galaxy and I have a Samsung television. Both are hooked up to the same network.
When I try to stream video to my television in 1080p, which is just the video size that I recorded using the camera app, the video comes in choppy. Lower resolution videos seem to play fine.
This feature worked flawlessly on ics, not entirely sure though as to why is choppy on Jelly bean.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? If so, what did you do to solve the problem.
Are there ports that need forwarding? It used to work, but now it doesn't. The only thing that has changed is the upgrade to Jelly bean. I help! :banghead::banghead:
FreeGS3 2.0.0 Jelly Bean
Also interested in finding a solution to this. It happens between my phone and tv (samsung) and between my phone and the parents' home theater (sony).
I can play videos i have on my phone from other sources just fine, but videos recorded on the phone are very choppy...even 720p.

Glad to see I'm not the only use experiencing this. I haven't tried 720. When I was on ics, This feature was working just fine.
FreeGS3 2.0.0 Jelly Bean
Tried 720p, still a no go with that. Does Jelly bean use a different video encoder than ics?
It's hard to believe that only two people in the community are having this issue.

Should be in Q&A

skipping video on allshare
Yeah same problem here. All my pre jelly bean update videos stream fine. Videis post jelly bean skip. When i try to play them on my samsung tv i get "preparing to play" message every couple of seconds and video freezes. It used to be a great feature but now its ruined. If i change to lower resolution in camera settings it seems to play fine but no 1080 anymore. Anyone know the the problem might be and mist importantly whats the fix? Thanks
Same prob. here Anyone ?
Hi. This is my first post - I'm new to Android - this is my first Android phone and places like this and the people here and their work are why I switched.
(short version)
Can any Note2 gamers out there chime in on game performance? I am getting deal-breaking lag on any game I try (admittedly limited but including GTA3, MaxPayne and MAME).
(long version)
In the month or so I've had the phone I have rooted and unlocked it, used stock for a while and then went to Jelly Beans' ROM. I've run all the odd numbered versions of that rom, stock kernel, clean wipe every time. I've read the thread about the rom all the way through...
About a week ago I learned I could use a PS3 controller over USB natively for gaming and it worked right our of the box for games like GTA3 and Max Payne. I grabbed the games, and they seem to play great, but there is a noticeable audio lag - like 1/2 to a full second. The visuals seem to be smooth, and the controls seem to be responsive, but the audio lag makes games unplayable. I've only tried those two games pul some emulators, but both animaonline (SNES) and mame4droid (not reloaded) have the same audio lag issues. I get the lag over bluetooth and with wired headphones.
Some searching showed me that audio latency has been an issue with Android for a while, but also that Jelly Bean was supposed to fix that, and that higher end phones (like the note 2?!) had less of a problem. I also haven't seen any complaints from Note 2 owners regarding any of the games I mentioned.
I'm curious what others' experience has been with this. Thanks,

Bean's ROM is an rom that was ported so it was not made specifically for the Sprint GN2. THIS is probably your problem.
Hi Guys, i missed my xperia play so i bought a new one, the scene has changed on here since i left it a year ago for the better, brilliant roms and kernels now!
However am i doing something wrong?
I've tried many kernels and rom combinations but im still experience lag in games (not as bad as a year ago though)
It annoys me as i will be enjoying a game then it will just lag really bad and i lose control of the dpad / touchpad for a few seconds.
Its not constant lag but enough to bug me!
I've tried LuPuS v12 480p and extremkernel R2 000p with the following roms:
Gin2jellybean
Aurora Play
XElite
Atomic
I cant get bane of speed to install (keep getting E: partition error? help?)
These are all GB roms will i have better success on Ice Cream Sanswhich?
i usually OC with 1.6ghz smartass v2 / sio (However i've tried all settings even under-clocked)
Any advice / help would be great
p.s.
Major annoyance is when i play Mario kart 64 on n64oid it freezes my phone no matter what kernel / rom / OC settings im on!!! v2.7 doesn't crash on mupen any ideas?
You should really try ICS roms. Pritty much stable and able to run even heavier games. Just keep in mind that in ICS roms it's everlasting battle in perfomance vs features. Use lupus ICS/GB 480p kernel.
Ofcorse, it depends what games/emulators you are playing, but i can say ICS is compatible with 95% of games (that i try).

Did u data reset before tryuing each rom? (use Tiyanium Backup to backup and resote apps exactly where they were!)

Edit
Imo best rom is stock debloted+RTmixManager/v6SuperXharger/Pizza_Box(not all jusr 1 of em)
Edit2
Sounds weird but keep ur oc to 1.2 GHz in games, just try thqt, nd dont use performancr govenor unless emulating
It is obviously personal preference - i have just spent the whole night testing roms.
Don't like the ICS roms they all seem too fiddly,
I finally settled on LuPuS v12 480p and Gin2jellybean 1.4ghz / smartassv2 / sio
UI is smooth and modern looking and most games run fast as! only getting the odd stutter during a game but only on some and its rare.
I have one major issue now which i dont know if its the rom or the kernel, but i'll pick 2 games its occurring on: Rage of the gladiator and Lara Croft both games are not playing videos in game?
The phone doesn't play any mp4 on the basic stock player, anyway i can fix this? (3rd party players do work but not for the in game videos)
Thanks in advance
why don't you try JB ROMS ..try this one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357756
always wipe data/cache/system/rom before installing a new ROM. hopefully this should fix your problem..

It was the kernel learnt the difference between full / ram (full contains video playback) im all happy now it doesnt have seemed to affect the games in anyway that i can notice anyway.
thanks for all your help and suggestions
I use performance for gaming as it keeps the frequency set. Smartass changes frequencies constantly and that could have some affect

On the lupus 480 kernel I get that too with the videos not playing. Asphalt 6 wontload the opening video but says it's unable to play it. Then it loads the game
