I am using Jedix11 and i really like the rom, the only issue im having is that the GPS can't find location. Is there a GPS patch or anything i can flash to fix this. I have looked in the roms thread and i cant find a solution.
Also, can i flash any GPS patch?
thanks

I am using same ROM.
I just checked on the GPS and using Maps, the GPS is locking up to my location fast.
Also using GPS Test application showing 22 satellites in view and the device is locked to 20 satellites.
That is pretty good. Accuracy in FT is 30
I hope that helps you.
Here is the application you can download to check your device.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...pstest&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
Look for ann app called gps status, click the menu button and go to tools, this option should be a gps settings. Erase and restart phone, go back into the menu and download new a gps settings restart again, and test.

Thank for your response, but after testing the application it only confirms that there is something wrong. it shows 20-22 in view but 0-1 in use and it cant detect my location.
After letting the app run for over 5 minutes nothing happens.
Thanks again
Try a clean reflash. Mine locked in at 5seconds.

Im gonna reflash the rom hopefully that fixes the issue.
I have flashed pretty much every rom available for the note 2 and the GPS works great not sure what it could be.
Thanks

Try doing this method and see if it works after.
1] Make sure your new ROM zip file is on the SD Card.
2] Go to your SD Card file list and delete the .android folder, also delete your .lost.dir folder.
3] Reboot into custom recovery
4]Perform a d.cashe and cashe wipe, then do a factory reset from the wipe menu and also do a system wipe.
5]Flash the ROM again and reboot. Do not touch your phone for 10 minutes.
See if this will correct your phone GPS.
*Your apps and settings will be lost doing the above so make sure you back those up.
*Do not back up any original operating system files other than wallpapers and widgets. Otherwise if you back up your Android system files,
and the flash them back, what ever file is corrupt will be flashed back and you wont fix your problem.

I was not gonna attempt to do what you suggested cuase I had done it before and nothing had changed. either way i had some free time and i decided to follow your step and it seems to be working.
the only thing i did different was letting the phone do its thing for the 10m u suggested and it works.
it takes a little bit longer to connect than other roms but it connects which is great.
thank a lot. :good:

When installing FXP113 to my phone, I found that on bootup I would get an error on the phone process and I had no service. After trying a few different things, I finally found the solution: Install FXP112 first, then install FXP113 over it without wiping data. Here is a step by step tutorial on installing FXP113 on the R800x. It probably would work the same for all Xperia Plays.
Required: Rooted Xperia Play and unlocked bootloader.
Needed Files: FXP112 as modified by Chevyowner
FXP113 as modified by Chevyowner
Replacement build.prop file for R800x
Fastboot - Fastboot+ADB+Fastboot_Drivers.zip
Sony Drivers
Recommended: Boot into recovery and make a Nandroid backup before continuing.
1. Copy the files for FXP112 and FXP113 to your sdcard. You will need to access these from recovery.
2. Install Fastboot. Unzip the file into C:\fastboot.
5. 2. Extract the boot.img of your choice to the fastboot directory. You may use the one in FXP113, or DarkForest3.img or DarkForest4.img (available here.)
5. Enter into Fastboot Mode. - Turn off phone. Hold search button down. Plug in USB cable. The power light should be blue The first time you do this, you will be prompted for the fastboot drivers. They will be in C:\fastboot\fastboot drivers.
6. To flash the new boot image, go to a command prompt and change to the c:\fastboot directory. Then use the following command:
fastboot -i 0x0fce flash boot boot.img <----- the name of your boot image.
7. When finished, remove the usb cable. Power on the phone and enter into Recovery. On some kernels, you will press repeatedly the volume down button; on others, you will press repeatedly on the back button or possibly the search button.
8. You MUST clear Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache. It is also recommended by some people to clear the battery stats.
9. Install zipfile from sdcard. Select the FXP112 file first. Allow it to install and then reboot the phone. (I usually clear data, cache and dalvik again just to be sure.)
10. Activate your phone on the Verizon network.
11. Now shut down and reboot into Recovery again.
12. This time, clear ONLY cache and dalvik cache. Do NOT clear data.
13. Install zipfile from sdcard. Select the FXP113 file this time. Allow it to install and then reboot the phone.
14. Copy the build.prop file into /system. You may want to rename the current one first.
15. Reboot and enjoy! You should be up and running with full data, wifi access now.

#10 There is no charge to activate the phone if you already have service. It's like dialing *228 and choosing option 1, only the system does it for you.
#14 Yes, you can just copy it to \system, but don't forget to change access to RW before pasting. You may also want to rename the old file first as a backup, although I never have.

If yes, just for kicks, go clear it again.
Also, remember, the first boot after a clean install takes longer than normal.

I think it was just edited to identify the phone properly as an R800x. PaxChristos told me to use it when he helped me install FXP111 and I have used it ever since. I haven't had any issues at all with it, so you might give it a try if you're on Verizon.

That was only needed the first time Chevy made FXP111 work, he missed some things in the build.prop that created graphical artifacts in menus and such. All of his builds after that have the correct build.prop now.

*22899 is the shortcut for activating service in case anyone wanted to just store it for future reference
-and you can also use flashtool to flash back to stock or flash a new kernel
*228 worked fine for me. semcsuite.apk won't show up in my app drawer. I moved it to /system/app and fixed permissions. Still not there.

For some reason, trying use videocall in gtalk worked fine at first, but changing to rear camera made gtalk fc. After that no camera works at all.
GPS only works on maps (no on gps status, or any other app), since my wifi neighbours are all on the google database i'm not sure if the true gps is really working.
And have another annoying things.
I'm hacking all my phones since android 2.1, and I cant consider this release as an true release candidate. Its more beta.

From what I have read... no. That is why I have not jumped ship to CM. Otherwise I would be there right now. So until they get the touchpads working I will wait, although I have also read they are working on creating from scrathc their own drivers for the touchpads as the current drivers now require SE framework...... so cross your fingers.

Not to be rude or by any disrespect but how isn't it a "true" release? A release is a release..being that it's in beta status doesn't mean it's any less, cm is always changing and improving so there is no hey this is the final version kind of thing..CDMA isn't even supported by cm at all so the fact we have cm9 before verizon gives it to us is amazing. Just to point out, this isn't hacking by any means, android is open source..it's like going into an open store and saying you're breaking in

Yes, giving their release to us is amazing, but saying that camera works on changelog, and not even the basic apps like gtalk and camera works, this barely can be considered as working.
As a software engineer I label as a beta, not RC anything. beta is to fix stopper bug like this, RC is for the little annoyances lonely.
For example, my work friend installed another rom on their htc sensation, labeled as beta and all features works, with jagged areas here and there.
And yep, I know the Team FreeXperia is a one guy team
I'm happy with all this releases, only frustrated because the thing is being labeled as working, when not. So I made a report here to make sure another person doesn't make the same mistake as me.

How do install install the custom rom and set up fastboot?
Hey all,
Last night I was finishing work and picked up wifi on the way at a free hotspot at a place I frequently pass through. I then got home and attempted to connect to my home network but nothing. No networks were visible. I looked at wifi settings and turned it off then on again but it now just sits there saying "Turning Wifi On". I have tried WiFi Fixer but it just attempts to reset the wifi to no avail. I tried using 3G instead which functioned fine
I did a Nandroid backup and attempted to do a factory reset but this didn't work. I then did a full wipe and reinstalled the ROM I was using but still nothing. I thought maybe there was a problem with that so then decided to try another ROM but still nothing.
Any ideas on this guys as it's driving me mad. I'm guessing possibly a hardware issue
Many thanks in advance

Try a complete new install/flash :
Put the Rom.zip on your phone
extract the boot.img from the Rom.zip and put it into your fastboot folder
go into bootloader
(open cmd -> go to the path where your fastboot package is (cd c:/....) -> fastboot flash boot boot.img -> fastboot erase cache)
boot into recovery
wipe data factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache
then format cache/data/system
flash rom.zip
reboot
and hope that it´s not the hardware :/

Ok this is very weird. It has now started to work again while I've been at my parent's house. At one point though, again it stopped working. This is very weird indeed. If it happens again I'll try CM10 and see if it still does it but at the moment it is ok. I'm not sure if it's hardware or software related now. I don't really want to have to send it back as they will probably struggle to find the fault and to be honest, I would struggle to do without my phone for a couple of weeks. I'll see how it goes and see if it happens again.
Thanks for the help guys
Let me start by saying I've read through several other threads with a similar issue, but they all have a common connectivity problem that I'm NOT experiencing so I thought I'd ask this in a new thread. I was using AOKP build 5, and I decided to try out a more TW stock rom to see how devs have modified it. I chose Intergalactic v 2.8, wiped data/cache and installed like ya do. Almost immediately I got the pop up saying, "Unfortunately, Factory Test has stopped." I didn't think much of it, even though I had never seen it before. I restored my app data via Titanium Backup and starting fiddling with my settings. Made a couple calls, a few texts. Put my phone down to go about my morning. Later when I went to unlock my phone I realized I don't have a lockscreen. Thought that was funny so I went to boot into recovery but punching the power button just turned the phone off; So I investigated and I realize I'm in factory mode. and I can't seem to get out of it. I've tried running the terminal commands to turn it off, but that didn't work. It looks like my ESF folder is empty or doesn't exist.
So here's what I know after all of my research: My IMEI somehow seems to be intact since I can make calls and get on the network, but because my ESF is empty or gone can't turn off factory mode, which is causing all kinds of other buggy issues such as no lockscreen, no power menu, and the annoying Factory Test pop-up. If there is a thread out there that had a similar problem, I apologize that I couldn't find it. is there any way to recover this info, since the IMEI is still intact? Thanks.

Tried to restore the stock JB with Odin and it didn't fix the problem. I'm attempting to flash the stock ICS, then attempt an OTA update to see if that does the trick. Will keep you posted.
So I flashed ics and then allowed AT&T to push my JB update to me OTA. Still in factory mode. I guess I'll just have to investigate this more thoroughly. I'm using widget locker as a work around for my lockscreen, but still no power menu and the popups are still showing up every now and then. Super annoying, but at least my phone is still functioning. If anyone has any other ideas I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Don't be skittish. It really and truly is the only way to get everything back to how it should be. Ton's of people have tried it and this allows you to push the IMEI back into your phone the way it came from the factory. It's not for spoffing or doing anything illegal.
Now its usually for replacng a lost IMEI from flashing a ROM. Sometimes happens when going from a non-stock type ROM (i.e. CM or AOKP) to stock type ROM (i.e TW)
Search on how to push files with ADB and you should be good to go
BE CAREFUL though and don't skip steps or go fast.
I meant to ask...can you use your phone ? does data work ? Have you tried to get into download mode ?
If you can then download good manager and select reboot into recovery or any other number of apps that let you boot into recovery without having a power menu

Yeah, the phone works perfectly other than a lack of lock screen, no power menu, and the pop ups that annoyingly show every once in a while. I tried turning it off with terminal emulator at one point last night, but it didn't seem to work, I THINK because the EFS folder is empty. I'll have to re-root tonight and try it again since I've restored my stock firmware.

Ah exactly what I have been looking for on this one for you. I found a few that explained how to push your old EFS folder with ADB but none about making another. How crazy it was yesterday it popped up on a post. That looks like your best shot as you folder seems to be corrupted and although IMEI is intact you need a new one folder that is intact. Let us know how it turns out
Can you hit me with the stuff you found about pushing it through ADB? My efforts have been less than fruitful on that front. I'd rather be armed with as much information as possible.

Hi all.
My first post here and a couple of questions.
Per instructions found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195283 , I was able to root my phone using TWRP and odin.
The phone works fine but many of the apps are missing (maps, youtube etc). I was able to download the maps 6.14 apk and install it, but the gps takes forever to lock now. Is there a s2 specific app that was somehow wiped out by the rooting process?
Also, the stock browser is set to full screen, but when typing in the address, the address bars flickers on and off and I can only see the google search suggestions untill I press the keyboard again. Im using stock samsung keyboard.
Don't know if it's normal, but the phone doesn't pull my contacs from the sim card before or after root. I used to have HTC Mytouch from T-mobile and the names and phone numbers all came up as soon as I insterted the sim card into that phone when I bought it 2 years ago.
Thank you.
Sorry forgot to add.
The phone is ( was?) stock JB 4.1.2 (t-mobile) and the only thing I did was root it.
The only thing I can think of is to re flash the stock ROM in Odin. Then redo installing recovery. I followed roughly the path to root you described and didn't have any problems.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Do you know if the settings and data will be wiped out if I try to reinstall ? I dont have a spare phone I would hate to lose the apps and the texts and etc.
Well, if you have twrp, install it first and make a backup that INCLUDES the preload partition as well as data, system, cache, etc. Then you don't need to worry. But odining stock job over stock job should be harmless since it won't overwrite data -- just be sure repartition isn't checked

Well, unrooted, rerooted, wiped clean, reinstalled stock 4.1.2 and nothing ...
The gps is crap with all the .conf files tried. And no matter what, once I install SU , the damn apps disappear after reboot. Plus considering that it's a 1.5mhz processor, its slower than my old HTS 1.2mhz Mytouch and even 1mhz ZTE warp. Probably gonna send it back. Too bad, since I like the screen a lot.
You're missing apps can be redownloaded from the play store. As for your GPS problem, download and follow the instructions to install AGPS from this thread and you should be fine.

Thanks , but I already tried that.
As for the apps, it's really not a big deals, but the fact that the SU app makes them disappear is a bit of a concern. , plus the fact that gps works like crap even after the patch and several new gps.conf files , make this phone an overpriced and kinda overhyped toy. Frankly one shouldnt be looking at patches and fixes on a phone this "good". If an old ZTE and Htc work without a hitch, then this thing is about $150 too expensive for what it is.
And for the life of I cant understand why wouldnt sucksung put a damn led light on the case to alert the user of missed calls or texts instead of us having to resort to the nolite and such..
Thank you for all the help though).Thank you though for the help.

Appreciate the advice.
But Ive done that already. The gps ,when it does finally lock, takes forever. Regardless of the .conf files. And no matter what, after SU gets installed and the phones is restarted some apps are simply gone.
Instead of stock ROM I would give you the suggestion of trying out cyanogen mod since imo its actually much better everything wise over stock ROM
Give it a whirl and tell us what u think
See if the probs went away

It's seems like a good port to start out with, but after ready through the thread and noticing all the chaos going on over there, I'll just wait until one of our sprint devs gets something in the making.
Its pretty stable for our device. No reboots at all. Only thing not working for me is downloads app and clear all option in recent apps menu. Of course eventually it'll be getting better
do you have working data?

I have a clean flash.
have you tried clean flash? (in recovery wipe >> advanced wipe and wipe everything except internal storage. )
edit: just dirty flashed 11/19 and got nfc FC error. I'll try now clean flash
Edit1: same after clean flash of 11/19 seems error is in this build. Experimental with nfc fix 1 works great
Yeah I did the same but the NFC error do exists....
which model r u using..iam on lg ls980
So what now guys? Is NFC working or not?
it do exists for me...i flashed the rom cleanly..any remedy available with u ??
guys with nfc FC error on boot, go to recovery mount system. then go to advanced from twrp menu >> file manager go to system app nfc folder and delete nfc folder. reboot and here u are. even 11/19 build is working good after that and recent apps menu clear all button is fixed there too
