Are you guys using something other than Barnacle for a hotspot app in your Incredible 2's? If so, what?

I'm actually using the #778 hack on the hotspot. Also have Wifi Tether as a backup.

Just curious because I use my phone as a hotspot frequently but I use Barnacle wifi tether. It sounds like it's the same thing you guys are using, only you're using the built in Verizon wifi tether app right?

Will it show up on my bill if I use a third party tethering app?

No. It should just count as data usage so if you have unlimited, you're good to go.

Oh I see; thank you. I removed the Barnacle one and installed the one you sent the link for that was called wifi tether.

Wifi tether version?

I'm running cm7 and can't find a wifi tethering app that works for me. Im going to need a hotspot later, but I can't get barnacle or open garden to work...the both say they are running with errors. I'm not near a comp, so could someone maybe just link me to an apk? Thanks in advance.

The built-in wireless tether works great on cm7. Settings>wireless & networks>tethering&hotspots

So my SGS2 running Juggs 5.0 can no longer tether without a plan...and I can no longer just freeze it with Tiatanium Pro...how to get wifi tethering back without paying for it?

delete or freeze tethering manager, wifi sharing, and wifi sharing manager...

shoot i even delete wifi 1.0 i seriously don't see what those 3 apps do.. it makes no difference whether they're there or not when i use my phone. I tether with and without... but ultimately I removed them all

Try "android-wifi-tether", version 3.1 beta 7. Go into settings and set device profile to the S2.
Worked fine for me this a.m.

So it appears to be working with android-wifi-tether however I permanently have the "Security policy restricts use of Internet Sharing" showing on my screen (when I activate the tether) until I reboot the phone, can anyone else on Juggs 5.0 confirm they have tethering manager in titanium backup or can they get Wifi Tethering to work without the feature added to their account?

Try the app barnacle wifi tether.

I am new to all this, but this app works for me without the root.
It is at the app store and called Foxfi.

Agreed, this application works very well

I also use FoxFi and it worked perfectly for me before and after I rooted my phone!

I didn't see anything as far as the hot-spot hack, I'm use to using treve mod wifi tether, the only thing I saw in your original thread was the upgrade and the wifi patch

This is not working for me. . Other device gets stuck obtaining ip address. . Any thoughts.

Hey bro, i flashed your deodexed rom and flashed the hotspot hack but it isnt working with wi fi tether. I have tried flashin gthe zip multiple timees but nothing. Any tips?

Have the 4.3 update and phone works better but tether doesn't work. Hope a fix comes soon.

Quick question are any of you trying the native hotspot (settings--->hotspot) because treve Mod doesn't work on 4.3

As already mentioned, TrevE wifi tether does not work on 4.3. In order to get native hot spot working you'll need to first flash the wifi fix via Odin on your pc only. You have to unzip the wifi fix zip file first then flash it using the pda button in odin. All this info is in LorJay's thread.

Need a wifi tether rom

I need a rom or hack to give me wifi tether or bluetooth tether. Can anyone list one that they know works please. Im rooted now but I cant keep tether running and I think I need to redo root.

Well I flashed the phone back to stock and redid root and wifi tether is working good. I would rather have Bluetooth tether and a rom without all the sprint junk so I'm still looking for a nice rom.

Optimus DE and Stocktimus have Wi-Fi tether built into them. Dunno about Bluetooth.
