My 32gb works fine with my SIII, but when I install a 64gb SD card the phone can not recognize it. Is it because the SIII has a SD card limit are is it just my phone?
Please help thanks.
Try connecting your SD to your computer and format the SD card.

I did do that and it still wont work.
Take your micro sd card out and format it to fat32 in your pc. If it won't recognize the card or if the formatting fails then you have a defective card. Mine came in defective too (wouldn't format pass 20%). Quick exchange at local Best Buy remedy the situation.
I believe the expansion limit for the S3 is 64gb so that is'nt the problem..It's probably the card. Where did you buy the card at? It may be a fake depending on where you bought it at. Ebay is full of fakes.
Thanks you for all of your guys help it was a defective card, I bought it from amazon and now I am exchanging it for another one. I am hoping this time it will work.
You need to go here
http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm
And use that tool to format it to fat32 instead of ex fat.
Your PC operating system won't format it correctly. Needs that tool

Last night I lost a 512 card.
Putting the Jasjar in my pocket, the natural way to put it in is Camera Up, SD Down. the SD Card has pressed on some coinage in the pocket and 1/2 ejected its self and fell out when I took the device out of my pocket. Im glad it wasnt a 2/4gb i lost or id be really pissed!

I think I will be putting a little piece of black electrical tape over the SD card hole... not very pretty, but better than losing 4 GB of data...
Has anyone actually tried a transcend 4 GB SD card on their O2 Exec?
htc universal max sd memory
Is there a limit to the data storage size of the SD card you can use in the universal?
Thanks
I've got a Transcend 4GB SD card running on my MDA Pro. It works like a breeze. 2GB of mp3s, 1.2GB wikipedia, lots of programs.
I have A DATATurbo SD 4GB & it works fine but it gives an error when i set the camera to save to Storage card when i try to take a photo

i lost my camera with 1 gb high speed sd card attached.

I know we have alot of memory but I just wanted an SD card for xfer programs, so I decided to insert one, well I had a loose connector, when I would apply slight pressure by putting the back cover on/holding..etc. I would lose the SD card.
Went back and got a replacement.

checked mine, it's okay...maybe you got a dud?
It could of been, and I am glad I caught it right away.
I was just upset cause I had it setup just the way I liked it, now I have to start all over again.......lol.
i thought i may have had the same problem...but i removed and put the card back in, gave a few good shakes, drops on carpet and it looks good. so i dont need to return.
Ok so I dropped my HTC G2 (not rooted) and the battery popped out, but there was no physical damage. The spring pops back into place when I insert my SD card. I popped the battery back in and immediately noticed that when the phone turned on, it wasn't recognizing my SD card.
I went into settings and then Storage, where it says that the Total space available on the SD card is 'unavailable' and the Mount SD card option is whited out.
I clicked Erase SD Card, which was the only option on that menu that I could click on, but the message that popped up was SD Card Has Been Removed, when in fact it's still in the slot.
I connected my phone to my laptop, and usually I would get a message asking me to connect manually through my phone to my computer. Once I click connect on my phone, then only would my computer be allowed to access the SD card on my phone. I didn't get any such notification on my phone now.
I also cannot use USB tethering so that I can use my 4G service on my laptop.
I turned my phone off, turned it on, hard-reset it, factory reset it, used another SD card, formatted all SD cards to FAT 32, turned on USB debugging, but NOTHING is working and I really don't know what to do anymore.
I don't care about the data that's on my card at the moment (well there actually is none considering I formatted it), I just need a functional SD card for music, apps, and data etc.
I've looked ALL over the internet, but no one specifically has my problem.
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to be as specific as possible, and I also apologize if this is a noob question, but I really don't know what to do and really need some help.
Any advice or resolution to this is appreciated.
Thank you!
Sounds like the SD card tray may have been damaged in the fall, for which there is no easy fix.
"not rooted"
ur lucky
try and get a warranty replacement (or fix) for it
yeah if you have issurance a replacement is your best bet.
does your phone vibrate? if not i bet either the flex ribbon connecting the sd card port is damaged or disconnected in some way. or the whole port is bad. usually less than 15usd on ebay or amazon or wherever. takes maybe 15 min to replace
update/response
UPDATE: the seal that's supposed to indicate that there has been water damage is pink. Don't know if that's a good thing or bad, but I've never dropped it in water and never noticed the pink before, it's always been white.
ALSO FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO MINUTES TODAY, IT RECOGNIZED MY SD CARD BUT SAID IT WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REFORMATTED. I CLICKED REFORMAT BUT IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. I TOOK IT OUT TO PUT IN ANOTHER SD CARD AND IT WENT BACK TO THE SAME STORY.
Don't have insurance, I bought it off of someone else.
My phone does vibrate.
How can I fix the SD card tray?
BTW thanks for all the responses, i'm really grateful for it.
Put bleach on the end of a q tip to turn the water damage indicators back to white

I'd take it to a cell phone repair store for the rest. I took mine in after I fried it playing golf in the rain. 70 and they gave me a new battery

For some reason when I get a text message my screen will only dim after a short while, it never turns off. I have the timeout set to 15 seconds in settings.
Also, I don't know if its supposed to be this way but the sim card does not go in the side of the phone completely for me like the sd card does. Basically when I close the little cover for the sd card and sim card it pushes in the sim card enough for the phone to read it.
I've already had an issue where I had the phone bounce in my pocket, the little cover for the sd card and sim card got loose, and the sim card moved out so my phone restarted with no sim until I pushed the cover back in.
This is for AT&T by the way.

For the sim card, I had a problem with it not being in there well when I got it from AT&T. I put it in myself later using something thin to push it in and make sure it got pushed in all the way. I've had absolutely no problems yet. Hopefully that continues.
This sim card has to pushed in quite far for the "click" until its completely seated. I had to use a paper clip to push it in enough. Try that.
The paper clip trick worked, thanks guys .

Ditto. I had to offer push my sim card in further when I got home, too. After it did, it locked in place as expected.

For those that have the Tab Pro 8.4, is the micro SD slot supposed to be spring loaded? Is it supposed to lock in place when you push it in?
On my tablet right now when I insert my micro SD card, I can't keep it in. It keeps protruding oit. Do I have a defective micro SD slot?
Probably, here it works perfectly...
Sorry man
Yeah, sounds like it may be defective.
Behaves the same as the tray on other devices: push the card in, and it will stay in (I think the card should be about flush with the surrounding plastic - I don't have my Tab with me right now, but I just popped out/in the card the other day). Push the card again, and it will "spring" slightly so that its sticking out by a few millimeters, so you can grab it and take it out.

Yes it is spring loaded, but to get the card to seat and lock in place properly I had to push it pretty far in (carefully) with a long finger nail.
The slot is quite deep set and pushing the card in flush with the case wasn't enough to get it to lock in place and it kept popping back out - a bit of hassle compared to my other devices with micro SD to be honest.
Oh sorry, I had misunderstood your question.
Indeed you have to pull it really far, my nails barely can do it, so generally I use the SD adaptor to push it further untill it locks...

That is true, I was thinking you have to push the card in farther then flush (I think it "clicks" a bit) in order to lock it in the "inserted position". Then push it again to eject it. I just couldn't remember for sure, since I don't have the device with me at the moment.
Very true, that the slot is set a bit too deep. So I have a little difficulty pressing the card in, to eject it. So the same can certainly be true when pushing the card in to "lock" it in place. I would follow the above suggestions to push the card (gently and carefully) with some thin object, as far as it will go. And if it still doesn't lock in place, the locking mechanism may be broken. I can do it with just my fingernails (they are usually short) but it often takes a couple tries to get it to eject. I don't usually have issues inserting it, but I can see how the same would still apply.
Thanks for all the input. Yeah. I can't get the card to lock in place when I push it in, and I am pushing it in pretty far. I'm thinking the spring mechanism may be defective, but sounds like you may have to push in far I will try again later tonight.
Pretty late to the party here, but since I didn't see it mentioned, you should know that the card inserts face-up, meaning the contacts on the card face the back of the tablet.
And yes, it's very deep, but is spring loaded.
