So I am at a point where Odin is failing to flash the stock firmware, maybe an issue with partition. I can't boot into the phone it says there was an issue with the firmware upgrade and to use kies.
Odin now wont even connect.. just says setup connection and gets stuck there..
any ideas?
Try reinstalling note 2 drivers. Boot into download mode. Then connect phone to PC. Oh and make sure kies isn't installed. Sometimes kies and Odin don't play nice together.

I resolved it. Was using a usb3.0 port on my comp which was causing odin to fail.

Did you start Odin BEFORE connecting your Galaxy S? Did you try rebooting your PC?

Well I would still go with the suggestion to try a different PC.
Otherwise: What version of Windows are you running? Does the driver get installed successfully (can you tell)?
Edit: What version of Kies do you have installed?
I'm using xp, well I have no devices without drivers installed?

Are you in recovery or download mode? If the screen is blue and it says download mode then you're in right spot but if you're in recovery then odin will never see your phone

i have sprint galaxy s2 and im stuck at the firmware upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode in kies but kies doesnt find the phone though what do i do

like by uninstalling kies? and what else?
can you get to odin and flash the EG30-Revision 5 tar file?
use a jig from ebay if you cannot get into download mode
jtag repair is usually the only option when you can't get into download mode or recovery. Looks like you boinked your USB mounting in the phone with a bad flash.

I'm currently running task650's current ROM and ktoonz newest kernel . I'm unable to connect my phone to my PC via USB. I've tried 3 different USB cables including the original one that came with the phone. I'm trying to revert to stock to swap out phone, but I can't flash through Odin(cant restore stock recovery) and triangle away won't let me reset flash counter. I'm at a loss for ideas, I've been looking through the forums for days and I can't find anything . I've tried flashing different ROMs/kernels with no luck.

is USB debugging mode on? did you make a nandroid when you first rooted? that would contain the original firmware you were using before flashing anything. are you connecting to your PC after putting the phone in download mode or recovery mode? just covering all the bases, buddy.
Yes I've done all the above, however during a flash of cm10 i soft bricked somehow...and lost all data on my internal.. So I no longer have my original nandroid I'm not new to flashing at all and never imagined that would happen I've learned to expect the unexpected now.

I've tried root66_Att_I747uckl3.tar.md5
Only ROM I've tried. I'll try another. I've tried the Samsung toolkit and it doesn't work properly cause I'm not getting proper connection. I have a theory that my USB doesn't work properly because my file directories are messed up on phone and are in a folder emulated/0/...

here's the thread for the stock firmware tars. if you're still able to get into download mode AND your device is recognized in odin, flash the appropriate carrier firmware.

Tried mobile Odin, it soft bricked my phone, had to plug in to a full charge before I could even get it back into recovery. The first 24 hours it wouldn't even go back into download or recovery... I thought I was going to have to get a new phone. Weirdest thing ever. Downloaded and tried a new stock firmware. I feel like I'm running out of options.. Lol and every time I triangle away I reboot and my triangle is back..lol

Was really hoping you'd find a solution to this. Sometime ago my phone's USB stopped working as well. It can still charge but the computer does not recognize it. My Googlefu has led me to believe this has happened to a hand full of people with Samsung phones.
Was hoping to flash stock Rom on my phone but I can't connect via Odin.
USB Cord matters...

Yes, Ive tried every USB plug under the sun. My phone sometimes gets detected by my computer, and I can browse files but if I try to copy something from it, it freezes half way through, then becomes undetechable. Ive tried to flash through odin but it never works....just get stuck then fails.
Hi,
Im having real trouble trying to root my galaxy tab pro 8.4. I just cant get odin to see the tablet or my friends note 3. I have done everything the tutorials say. but not. It doesnt go blue so i cant flash.
I have rooted before but went back to normal rom from sammobile. I would like to root again but just get odin to work. Can anyone help or is there another way to do it.
Thanks
Try another cord? Another computer? Do you have drivers installed? Does your computer recognize your tablet - can you see what is on your internal/external drives?
Tried another cord and computer but yes the pc can see the what's on it etc

What version of Odin are you using? Try re-downloading Odin? Are you running Odin as administrator (right click on Odin icon and select run as administrator)
Tried them all and nothing. Just won't see my galaxy pro tab or note 3.yes right admit.

Did you install Kies 3?
However, you have to close Kies before running Odin.
I have installed kids, and un installed it as I read they conflict
Sent from my SM-T320 using XDA Free mobile app
They don't conflict. I rooted my Tab Pro 8.4 with Odin 3.09 while having Kies 3 installed. Maybe when you uninstalled Kies it uninstalled the drivers, too?
I'd reinstall Kies and then reboot. Then try again with Odin.
Cheers, tried all that sees nothing. When the tab is on in odin it shows as com 5 as soon as I put it in recovery mode, nothing. Very odd. Really want to put a custom rom on as I hate touch wiz

Just wanted to throw my hat into the ring here - I'm having the exact same problem with a Tab 10.1.
I've tried everything the OP mentions with no success. It just simply seems that Odin (3.7, 3.9. 3.10) is incapable of seeing the tablet on ADB, even though it sees it instantly in normal boot.

It's download (Odin) mode.
Hi,
I am trying to root my verizon note 7, but right now I cannot connect my phone to Odin. What should I do now?
Thanks!
Make sure you have the drivers installed, Make sure you are in file transfer mode on the phone and try different ports on your computer.
How that helps.

Also make sure you are using Odin from the Root post. I tried 3.09 and it didn't work for me either, but 3.11.1 worked flawlessly.
