I would rename your current calender to .bak instead of .apk so you still have it. Then using root explorer move this apk to system/apps the long press it. Click change permissions and I believe they should be set to rw/r/r. Good luck!

It's pretty simple. However this process still did not work on my rooted SGSII. But for future reference of these types of system files here ya go.
- Use Root Explorer to place the file in the System/App folder in the directory
- If the new file is a different name then you can easily just place it in that folder ( of course you have to change Root Explorer to R/O mode instead of R/W mode ) - ( if its the same name then just rename the old file to something you can remember )
- Permissions for most apps would be RW, R, R. Just click on the file and select "Permissions". After you do that you do need to re-boot the device to save the settings.
Note: I did try this with this calendar and it did not work. We actually need a SSGSIII Calendar ported to work on an SGII. I am not smart enough to make that happen. Although I would like to be able to do such things someday. Hope this helps at least for future reference.
I'm pledging $10 towards the Dev who can get the S-Calendar ported yo the T-Mobile SGS-2. Maybe more if it is done by Monday. I know it's not a lot, but it's what I can give.

hey man, thank you very much. very helpful!!
although, I cannot install it on my nexus (i9250).
thank you anyway.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but this seemed like the most relevant place to post.
I recently put CarbonROM on my phone and, after playing around with it for a bit, realize I absolutely hate the google calendar and just want my old calendar back. I downloaded the apk provided in this thread and attempted to install it but it says I already have the app. Sure enough, if I go to Settings > Apps, it shows up as Calendar Storage, but there is no icon anywhere, such as in my app drawer, that allows me to load the program. I even tried using QuickShortcutMaker, but it can't find the calendar anywhere in the list of apps to make a shortcut. Does anybody know what I can do?
Same situation here with carbon Rom.
Anyone know how to get it working?

I am not sure, but it would seem, S Planer doesn't work on any other ROM than the Samsung Official ROM.
I don't know why... I've testing a lot of possibilities (replace the original AOKP's apk by the Samsung's apk, do a wipe Dalvik, wipe cache, modify the permissions...), a lot of apk (recovered here, recovered on an original v4.1.2 samsung's ROM, recovered on the testing v4.2.2 Samsung ROM...), and it never work on my CyanoGen Mod 10.1...
It isn't an incompatibility with an other home than TouchWiz because I've never use this home with my previous Samsung's ROM and S Planer working correctly...
I will continue to looking to do working S Planer with an other ROM, but I have little hope... :crying:

you'll need to be rooted, and use an app like Root Explorer, or any app that has a file manager that can access system level. go to System>App> and find two files, one is SamsungCamera.API and SamsungCamera.odex either change the name of both of these files (eg: SamsungCameraOLD.API and. odex) or delete them, either way SamsungCamera.API and SamsungCamera.odex should not exist anymore. now that you've done that, use that root file manger to place his hacked SamsungCamera.apk and place it in the same folder (System>App>). then restart your phone.
note* you may need to mount your R/W card, you can simply do that by the giant button at the top of Root Explorer.

If you're on a deodexed rom, then you won't have those files. Just reboot after dropping the apk in there, make sure your permissions are correct, and you'll be good to go.
What are the correct permissions? I tried flashing the zip through CWM but no go. I'm on a deodexed Rom also tried dropping the Samungcamera.apk file into system/app...

I am actually working on the higher bit-rates also. I have a few versions right now, in testing, the only issue I am running into right now is that when you use the power button for the shutter, it also triggers the power menu. It still takes the picture and all, but its an annoyance.
Has the video recorder always had that click-click sound whenever the ringer volume is on?? That's really annoying. I thought shutter sound in the camera controlled both.

CWM and TWRP installs are interchangeable in most, if not all cases. Definitely when you're talking about a simple script like this one.

Before anybody flames me, yes, I have searched every forum related to this issue. I am not a noob, just a lurker, so I don't have enough posts to post this in the development section. Here is my issue. I'm running Task650 and Ktoonsez 4.1.2 (build 11.18.2012) and I am trying to install a working version of google wallet. Before I go on, awesome ROM! I flash others and always come crawling back. Anyway, I've tried every variation on getting this to work out there, with no luck. This where I am at now. I can edit my build prop and get the market version of Wallet to work, but obviously it won't once I change my build prop back. If I try to flash the AT&T Modaco zip, I loose NFC in my setting menu. If I try to install the Modaco apk, it acts like its installing it, and at the end I get an "App didn't install" message at the end". My question is, how can I get this to work? If I can't, what exactly is the effect of leaving my build prop set on Nexus? Is it possible to flash the zip file, then extract something from an ota that I can flash to give me back NFC, but leave the rest of the changes the Mocado zip makes alone? If anyone can help me, I pretty much always donate to developers whose hard work I benefit from. Please help if you can. I am stubborn as gravity and will either get this to work or brick my phone trying.
Oh yeah, Its an AT&T phone.
I'm on the same ROM and have not encountered issues. Flash the modaco zip instead of installing, edit your build.prop, then reboot and add your card in the wallet app. After the card is added you can revert the build.prop.

I must have had a corrupt version of the file. I tried again and instead of loosing nfc, or wallet not showing up, the installation aborted. I redownloaded and reflashed with no issues. Thanks!

One more question. Have yuo had any issue with nfc toggling off randomly since flashing this? It seemed to be working fine but what I have noticed is that if I haven't used nfc for maybe twenty minutes, it toggles off. Its still checked, but I have to uncheck it and recheck it to get it to work. I usually set it to stay on even when my screen is off, and haven't had any issues with it before, even when the phone is asleep. I could write a tasker workaround, I suppose, but I would rather just fix it.
I did notice that occasionally the NFC settings become unavailable. A reboot always fixes it for me.

CM, AOSP, AOKP, 4.1.2 Bluetooth A2DP Solved?
This worked for me, so I figured I'd share.
Unpair, turn off bluetooth, reboot. Using root explorer, go to /system/etc/bluetooth.
With text edit, open "input.conf" file. Change "idle timeout" to "0" (no timeout). Fix permissions, reboot, then pair devices again.
It might take about a minute for media to connect, but media stays connected with no drops.
Don't know why, but my uneducated guess is for some reason maybe it's reading "in seconds" instead of "in minutes". Anyway,p worked for me, try it let me know and share this post.

Supposedly, if you set

in /system/build.prop
the bass issue is fixed. Its in one of these Q&A threads. Havent tried it cause that is for 4.1.2 only.

From what you are saying it sounds like the problem might only be solved with the next android iteration. Maybe 4.2.2. All I know is that after I installed 4.2 on my Nexus 7 and paired it to my car, the bluetooth audio cuts out a lot. So I am guessing this is a problem across 4.2 in general.
I found this page about the Nexus 7. Many users complaining about Bluetooth stutter.

FYI. I'm reposting this from the SlimBean 4.2.1 Rom forum. I switched over to SlimBean 4.2.1 from Tasks ROM as a test of the Bluetooth issue. Here is a report. Mind you, its very cursory at this point. I'll have way more reliable data/info after tomorrow.
Depending on the app, my Bluetooth Audio streaming seems to be working. I just tested with Subsonic Streamer, both streaming online and local music sitting on my phone. Neither of those worked, i.e. erratic pacing, static clips, etc. I also used Audible to play an audiobook and it worked fine for about 5 minutes. I even turned the screen off to trigger the effect. Nothing. Maybe its not the best quality ever, yet. But its something. *shrug*

How do I get the Icon from the manager and onto the phone somewhere ?
Its not in any of the trays or apps page etc. Its no where to be found but it exists deep in the apps manager. I dont want to use Voice and all the other BUL$&%T voice over IP junk apps.

Again
It doesnt let me hard press and move the icon from the manager and its NOT anywhere else on the device.

Sprint doesn't enable phone calls on the tablets. The closest to tablet Sprint provides with phone functions is the Galaxy Mega.
Until recently you could use Google Voice and a number of other products for data-based voice services, but Google is disabling that in May 2014.

The carriers can also enable and disable voice capabilities by line. This issue has been raised with data-network enabled tablets in the past. If the line isn't voice-enabled, no APK is going to change that.
But as always, YMMV.
Round and round nobody really has an answer just where we started before wasting time on this blog....
Has anyone ever found a solution to get this working? I have an sim-t217t that is unlocked, using a voice enabled sim on t-mobile and everything works fine except the phone app isn’t showing on the home screen and can’t get it to show and have tried several dialer apps that don’t work either.
I understand Samsung disabled the phone function on the US based tablets, but I’m sure by now someone has figured out a way around it?
