Xperia arc s: rooted and unlocked
Symptoms are as follows:
Attempted to install Cyanogen mod through using X-parts, however on initial reboot it simply got stuck at the Sony screen.
Cant get it to respond to any buttons or combinations there of and the PC wont detect it either. So its just sitting steady at Sony.
Are there any options or is this the end of the line?
Thanks,:crying:
Download Fusion kernel and flash with fastboot (google how to install custom kernels on arc s) then boot to CWM wipe all and install CM10 again. For CM9 download Lupus ICS CM9 based kernel and do the same.
Unhappy [Q] Bricked and not responding to Reboot Request
I agree with pypcier But on your post you say rooted & Unlocked when you say unlocked do you mean your bootloader is unlocked or your sim is unlocked? Also X-parts is really for locked bootloaders because it is installed to your system (where your rom is) when you install other firmware and format/wipe system you erase X-Parts so have to install again. That's why you are better of with a custom kernel with cwm built in :good: obviously you need unlocked bootloader for this
You say your phone is stuck at Sony logo so you forgot to flash the kernel. Just flash it through flashtool or fastboot

He tried to install CM10 through CWM (which was installed from x-parts), rebooted the phone and it was stuck on Sony. Obviously he didn't flash the kernel, no...?

As the title says, the FXP kernel bricked my phone and I can't install another ftf file over it because everytime i try to do it via flashtool it gets unplugged form fastboot in flashtool while it's still in that fastboot. I think that's because I can't acces the cache anymore.
Can somebody help !! :crying:

I solved it by doing:
1. Factory reset
2. Then check if you can mount system and cache. If you cannot then wipe /data
3. Install another kernel and then install fxp kernel again (I know this sounds crazy)
4. After installing fxp kernel again install fxp rom
Then the phone should be running again
So i have searched for simmilar threads but i didn't find what i was looking for.
I have xperia arc s 4.0.4. B.O. 587 and i rooted it. I also wanted to install ultimate hd mod and followed instructions. I placed custom rom files in sd card. Then installed x-parts CWM. Chose to reboot to CWM recovery. Did all the things jadar12354 wrote (reset to factory settings, wipe system folder, wipe batery data.) and i wanted to install ultimate hd, but it just wasn't there. i chose just to reboot. And gues what :crying: MY phone f*****g froze on sony screen.
I don't know if i have a unlocked bootloader all i know is i did this root thing
Seriously, i'm kind of a noob at this, i've been reading everything over 10 times to understand. Took me 4 hours just to root the damn phone.
What i tried is connecting arc s to pc via back button and go to flashtool and flashing the kernel or something. I've found guys who said to renew the rom but i don't know how to do this.
Please help i'm anxious that the phone is done for, can you please tell me how screwed am i?

Go to the sony web page and download Sony-update app. Than run app and choose your mobile model and reinstall stock Rom. That's the easiest way to back to original rom

Not if he want's to risk bricking is phone!! He said he is not sure if his bootloader is unlocked or not.If unlocked he needs to flash a stock fft in flashtool he needs to find out if it is unlocked.
Odp: [Q] Stuck on sony screen after x-parts CWM, while installing ultimate HD
Of course he can use flashtool. He must find stock Rom download and flash. But anyway he should install Sony update which is installing all necessary drivers. For installing CWM use this https://www.box.com/s/ydn80deft19ph4c1y8yg

I managed to fix it with sony pc companion repair. Now i rooted my phone again. But i want to ask one more question:
How can i install custom rom? Should i install kernel first? And how to tell if my bootloader is unlocked because i checked and i saw that my provider allows it.
BTW isn't it called "bricked" when you're stuck on sony logo?

It's locked you woud not have been able to repair it with Sony if it was unlocked! You can't flash a kernal if bootloader locked you need to unlock it.
Odp: [Q] Stuck on sony screen after x-parts CWM, while installing ultimate HD
I have locked bootloader an I'm using Xperia ultimateHD 2.0.3 . After rooting you should install CWM from my link above and copy ultimateHD to your sd card and flash it. Check how on ultimateHD thread. After that probably you need flash stock Wi-Fi modules.

Your bootloader is locked by default, you have to unlock your bootloader.
Stock ROMs generally can be used with stock kernel but with non stock-based ROMs installing a custom kernel (that requires an unlocked bootloader) is a must.
Odp: [Q] Stuck on sony screen after x-parts CWM, while installing ultimate HD
You can install Xperia ultimateHD on locked bootloader, and you don't need to flash any kernels. Just tick "locked bootloader" in aroma and done. Everything work perfectly.

Aroma its a graphic rom installer, like windows or linux installer. If you have rooted phone use CWM installer from here :https://www.box.com/s/ydn80deft19ph4c1y8yg . Copy rom to your sd card .Boot to CWM (Keep pressing the Volume Down key after the Sony logo appears)
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Mounts and Storage --> Format /System
Advanced > Wipe Battery Stats
Install zip from SD card > Choose Xperia Ultimate HD
Follow on screen instructions on AROMA.
After Complete Installation untick "reboot" and select reboot in CWM
And that's it :highfive:

Hello XDA Community,
im stuck with my Problem so far and after reading trough several Threads and excesiv use of google I decidet to make a new Thread. I flashed the Xperia Ultimate HD ROM on my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and forgot to wipe the Dalvik Cache before as well I did not uncheck the mark at "Reboot your Mobile" in the Aroma Installer.
Now I got a Bootloop, and cannot access CWM and I tried 3 times to flash over Flashtool and it didn't help at all.
This is behind my understanding of the material, so I would be really happy if someone could help me.
Ps. I also have no Unlocked Bootloader

Update Service with an unlocked bootloader is a bad idea.
Try this.

Official flashtool to go back to stock rom.
And as the guy above told you, SEUS on unlocked bootloader is a bad thing.

Dude,
As the others have said you cannot install FXP CM10 on a device with a locked bootloader.
As such your device will not boot, your options are to either.
1) use flashtool to flash a stock rom - instuctions how to use flashtool can be found on the forum
2) use Sony update service to flash back to stock - This is the easier option, but all your data will be wiped.
Once the device will boot up, if you still want to use FXP roms then unlock the bootloader first, or try a rom for locked bootloaders.
Either of the above should work for you.

At least you show others, do not flash custom ROM if it's only for unlocked bootloader.
If you have locked bootloader you can't flash custom kernel and you will stuck in bootloop.
