My antutu score is about 18000 at 1.8ghz and 800 gpu - i think its really nice because battery life is also good

What they all ment is that you are already driving a ferrari in a 30 zone... It is pointless to OC your note as the power it has it is more than enough. You cannot run Battlefield 3 on it in any shape of form...

That's nice.
You do know that benchmarks are a pile of horse**** and have nothing whatsoever to do with actual device performance, right? That variable score should prove that to you, if nothing else will.
They're an artificial metric that measures one thing only; how quickly the benchmark runs. The only purpose they really serve is to wave your epeen at people, which tells us rather a lot about the waver.

From my observation I noticed that running the benchmark consecutively the score reduces due to the build up of heat. More heat slower performance so that could be one of the reason why you have such variations.

My quadrant standard is at 2800 (which is mos def not the highest score but its a legit 2800-2900) and my linpack is at 26.5 on average. And its a daily driver I save battery by using an app called 2x battery, it kills the data connection when the screen is off, it helps a little. I. Undervolting//how low can your phone go :D

just a little information/ competition to see which SGS2 is the best , i want to see how low of a voltage you can go. I am using Stability test to test out the voltage, 3 round of classic test at 1.73ghz at 1125mV, and it stable, a little scare to go down more but here some info on my SGS2
running
beastmod 4.2
kernel 2.3.6
Was running originally at 1175 but i undervolt to 1125 and running stable at a stable temp of 41-42..
what's yours
be careful with such drastic undervolting at those frequencies, could result in corrupt nand.

no underclocking meaning i would use less ghz than the stock, this is minimizing the voltage on the core.

I don't know if you're familiar with overclocking, but the same type of stability issues can occur. When you're undervolting you can think of your stock speed as an "overclock" and you're just trying to minimize the voltage necessary for stability. If you undervolt too much you can experience freezing, corruption, bad lag, etc. It's all the same process for desktop computers, laptops, and anything else you can play with the voltage.
Personally I'm at -62.5, but after seeing how low people are going I might be a bit more adventurous. Don't use the "Set at Boot" option when you're experimenting.

I did it gradually...and the fact that I was at 1ghz might have also made it possible. Started at -50 since most had said it was safe...then tried 60 then 75 then 90 then maxed at 100...worked beautifully.
I have heard and it is true that phones are made very different. Some exact same models can't oc or UV as high or low as others...I got lucky with a really good model...my old nexus S couldn't oc to 1.4 without freezing while others could.

Right, I meant that there are no risks to undervolting in terms of physical damage to your phone, only stability issues which is fixed with a reboot, assuming you didn't set at boot. Overclocking is a bit different in that the risk overclocking presents in addition to stability issues is the risk of overheating which can permanently damage your phone. Undervolting can compensate for this somewhat by letting the power supplied to the processor and thus reducing the risk of overheat.

GPU overclocking kernel request

Found this in another forum. Wanted to get exposure to the possibility.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087853&postcount=2
From another poster: He references using "siyah" kernel in his S3, which appears to be an international version with the same processor as we have. He indicates the need for "stweaks". He talks about GPU "steppings" so I'm not sure if Andrielux has changed these in his kernel. I installed the app "stweaks" but it wouldn't load as it said "no kernel support".
Wow!!! What in the world. Is this for real? I wonder how stable it is. From 440 up to 800?! They are using some app called Stweaks (and the kernel of course) to do it. Love to see that on our Note 2.
And since it seems that the GPU wasn't changed much....from the Galaxy s2 series... "700 Mhz - 1100 mv" is only 75mv higher than the stock 440...and accoring to the forums stable. A 70% increase in speed and stable. This is a must have for any newer kernels.
His kernel does have it. Read the n7100 thread for directions

Stweaks slow overclocking but if you OC it by 100mhz laugh amd giggles numbers. What kind of actual gpu performance are you getting. I see with.stock better real life performance.during.gaming versus his kernel. So if I were to oc just to match stock is pointless to me.
why overheat the gpu when I can get the same performance on stock kernel.
It has to be the way he has it coded. Till it matches stock and further progress dev for it ill step in. I do appreciate his work and time. But for me I need something better than stock. I got this phone for a reason haha.

Sorry but I will not ill be sticking to stock maybe in the future. That kernel seems weird not sure which to choose. And like I said, I don't see the point of downloading a kernel know that will I will basically need to overclock the gpu just to get the same performance as I would on the stock kernel.

You guys.... stop scarying the people already. Overclocking your device will not break it in any case, most likely will shorten YOUR BATTERY LIFE! But that's it! You will not fry your phone, motherboard, display or whatever. I can ramp my phone upto 2ghz and it has nothing... But 1024 mhz or 1200 is enough!

Difference is there. Just to be sure that your phone works at that range (and its not a rom/kernel problem) - install Perfmon from the market and open the CPU section - It will then show you in real time at what range your CPU works. And if 2.0 gh becomes laggy it is because your cpu can go that high. Some cpu's can and others can't. That's just how they work. My old HTC Hero could go upto 691 from 526 default but other HTC Heroes could go upto 740....

May I ask why? Not about AnTuTu.. but Quadrant Standard is great!! Even helps in choosing a better ROM.. a little..:cyclops:
The only use I have for benchmarking apps is to compare changes in roms and kernels on your own phone. If you use the same app to benchmark, you can see the different performance gains and losses in various rom and kernel combinations. i really don't think they do any good comparing performance between different phones, but for checking on your own mods they do come in handy.

Use benchmark to determine throttling
Here are some tips I know which increases the benchmark rating..
Use PERFORMANCE as the Governer after overclocking.. And disable 'Force use of GPU for 2D Drawing' in developer options.
