Hi ,
I have unlocked my bootloader and installed a recovery. After it i rooted my phone and installed an ADW launcher . Until this everything worked great but when i restarted my phone the loader screen got stucked ... it plays the booting sound but than it keep showing it until the screen turn of than i can turn it on by pressing the power button but nothing else. When i make a factory reset or a nandroid backup i got a same situation.
What could be the problem?

you can factory reset with hboot menu if nothing working.
remove battery
reinsert it
hold volume down and power button (you can see hboot menu in few seconds)
select factory reset with volume buttons and then okay it with power button.
your phone will be factory reset.
its strange situation adw launcher wouldn't cause this kinda situation.so no idea

I upgraded from 2.51.1 to 3.4.2-117, and the phone lags, seems to me that it is because of the google sync. Someone posted the very same problem and said that factory reset solved his problem.
My problem is that the phone does not do factory reset, in Privacy I press the erase button and nothing happens.
I tried to boot into recovery, but I can't get into it. The droid comes up but upon touching the lower right corner nothing happens.
When i try to boot with vol up and down same time, the phone boots into safe mode.
How shall I get into recovery so I could do a wipe? The phone is basically unuseable now because of the lags and freezes
Hey mate! Don't give up. When you see the droid in the center of the lcd just push vol+ and vol- at once. You'll get into recovery mode. )))
thx dude, i figured it out "accidentaly"
Everyone was writing on the net that the recovery boot is up and down the same time instead of the old method of power & volume -.
So, when I got to the droid, started to push every possible button in every possible variation and I got in.
since then I learned that the vol up and down is after power & vol -, not instead.
I've recently got the JB update so I installed it, or atleast tried. Because when I try to turn on my phone again it gets stuck on the HTC logo (White screen).
I think somehow my battery went down during the installation and now I can't access my phone anymore.
It's a clean phone, no costum ROM and I haven't rooted it in any way.
Is there a way to fix my problem? (Preferably withour rooting it.)
I tried holding the power and volume down buttons and then selecting recovery but that doesn't work as I just end up getting stuck on the black screen with the Red triangle.

Try going into HBOOT
Hold down Power button & volume down buttons together when the phone is switched off. This will take you into HBOOT.
Select Recovery using the volume down button and press power to select it.
Hopefully it is able to recover and re-flash the firmware.

That is exactly what I did, but I ended up on the black screen with the triangle (As stated in my first post).

Doh missed that bit Sorry to be of little help. Hopefully someone else can proffer a solution.
if it's an unrooted phone, HTC have been very good at fixing phones bricked during OTA in my experience (2 day turnaround)
When you see the phone with the red triangle before you want to enter the recovery press vol - and the power button.....or at least the vol - button. Can't recreate it as i am on a custom recovery. You will bypass the red triangle and will enter the recovery. Maybe a cache wipe wil do, or a factory reset !

I've tried the factory reset be just like the normal boot it gets stuck on the HTC logo.
Clearing the cache might work but doesn't your phone needs to be rooted for that?

I cant recall if wiping cache is an option in the stock recovery !?
One can erase cache using 'fastboot erase cache' after getting the phone to restart in fastboot mode. See here and go to the 'Try this first' section. Hope this helps.

Sounds like hboot version problem with JB upgrade, what version of HOX you have? what version of hboot? , maybe we can unlock your phone and recover the system with custom rom and then rollback to stock rom.

Well if those didn't solve your problem what I did was let my M8 run out of battery and then plugged it into my computer holding power+volume down and that allowed me to get into the bootloader and then into fastboot. I then erased the cache and entered recovery where I had a backup ready.
I'm experiencing the same problem, and still working on solving it. But for those who are stuck in the boot screen and need to shut off their phone so that they can boot up into recovery (power + vol down), hold down BOTH volume buttons and the power button and the phone will shut off in a few seconds. I couldn't find this anywhere and was getting annoyed waiting for the juice to run out so I tried a few things and this worked.
edit: turns out it's just volume UP and power to 'battery pull' the phone, not both, although that will work because you're pushing on up

You can also try this if you're not willing to wait for the battery to drain. I also ran into that very same problem, being stuck on the htc splash screen.. However this is how I fixed it. Like one of the posters above i too held the volume button up while at the same time holding down the power button. My HTC One M8 would just reboot back to the splash screen. So, i went through all of the steps above again but this time as the screen went off still holding the power button down. I immediately slid my finger from volume up to down. I continued holding it in the volume down position until the boot loader come up. I selected recovery from there and did a cache wipe and restored a NAND backup. I hope this helps someone.
Found a pretty easy fix
It's a somewhat common problem as I can tell,w hen the device stops on the splash screen (where it says "POWERED by Android") ,, and it has a pretty easy fix, which does not require drain the battery or erase the cache from ADB and so on ! What you do is, you hold down Volume UP + Power Button and keep it pressed till the device will re-restart itself and will boot in to the system (unless you completely f-ed up your system).
Good luck
I have found a way

Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power button until you see a black screen. As soon as you see it press the Volume Down key and the Power button at the same time. This should get you to your bootloader.

Wow, that is a really long sentence!
Seriously, if the screen comes on, its not bricked.
But you also haven't provided enough info. Is the phone modded, or stock. And if modded, is it running a custom ROM, s-off or s-on?
I had a problem with the phone not booting after switching to ART. I wiped cached and rebooted, and it started up fine.
its stocked man had the phone for only 3 days now
Boot into recovery, wipe cache and reboot.
how can i boot into recovery by pressign and holding volume up and power? i did that already and it restarted optimized apps again for like 10 minutes and got stuck in the same error again would realy apreciate some help
please help guys
Press and hold Volume up + Power for 10seconds, when the screen goes dark, immediately press volume down + power. That'll take you into bootloader.

That button combo just forces a reboot.
Do as suggested in the last response. Once in bootloader, use vol keys to highlight recovery, and power button to select. Once you see the red triangle (stock recovery screen) hit power + vol to show the recovery menu. There you will see an option to wipe cache.
Hello Everyone,
So Redmi Note 8 was working fine. For the last few days randomly the Volume Icon Appears on the screen and doesn't go away until I press volume down. I think this issue is related to the Volume Up Button. sometimes it doesn't work.
A day ago it got an update so I tried to update it.. after download it restarted and was loading .. got stuck on 4.99% for a while then restarted itself into the recovery menu. no matter how many times I tried to reboot.. it just comes back to it..
after a while when I tried to reboot while holding down the volume down and the power button it rebooted. and was fine but still had the volume issue..
just a few mins ago it restarted and now again its stuck on the recovery menu..
I don't mind about data already backed up when it booted.
i don't really need it to be rooted.
Just want it to work.. also having a custom recovery is fine.
so what do I do for that?? I was looking through guides everything I found required enabling bootloader but my phone won't boot so no way to do that.. at least I don't know of any method.
if anyone can help me with it.. i will really appreciate it..
Thank you ^^
Edit: Its on a Loop now.. Stay on Recovery Menu for a few mins then restarts and goes back into the recovery menu. Been doing it over and over again.
Update:
I figured out the issue.. it was the volume button.. the volume up button was not working as mentioned.. but it seems it was stuck at the volume up position.. That was the reason why I had the Volume notification on screen all the time... and the reason why it kept going back to the recovery menu..
I replaced the Volume Button and now everything is good.
Thanks Everyone ^_^
