[Q] Different stock ROM - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Just picked up my new Note II this week and was wondering if wiped out my tmo stock ROM.. would I be able to load an international stock ROM of X language/country region?
What I am aiming for is basically a fresh clean installed ROM without the tmo bloatware and etc. Also, would my Note II have any wifi calling issues being on a non-tmo stock ROM?
Any advice is appreciated and thank you in advance.

There should be a stock debloated rom floating around in the android dev sections. I used it untill jedi x7 came out and roms were becoming stable.

Wifi calling only available in TMobile roms. You will lose wifi calling if you install international roms or any roms that is not base on TMobile.

Yeah, I was afraid of that.. losing wifi calling. My area lacks coverage so I depend on wifi calling.
Hm.. is there a way to extract the wifi calling feature from stock tmo roms and install with other custom or international roms.

Well, in the sense that anything could be possible... sure. But it would be a huge undertaking much more involved then an extract-and-install scenario. My gut says the juice isn't worth the squeeze on that one... but I've been wrong on such things before so don't take my word for it.

My current ROM is Tweaked 1.5 I can confirm that Wi-fi calling works.
Should you choose to flash this rom (Tweaked 1.5) In Aroma installer, make sure you tick "install all t-mobile apps"

Fwiw - installing all t-mobile apps is not necessary for wifi calling to work on tweaked.

Guide to specific compatible rom ?

I use the Galaxy Note 2 I 317 on T Mobile I would really like to try some different roms weather AT&T or t-mobile roms but I need the wifi calling feature I know one of th3 T Mobile ROMs was incorporated with the AT&T note 2, and it has wifi calling working which is what I'm using currently but it is pretty basic 4.1 .2 build.
Does anybody know of any tmobile or att built roms that have the wifi call feature incorporated that I can flash on the i317 that will give me the wifi calling feature unfortunately I rely on that because of poor coverage in my area
I'm guessing the roms are probably probably if any going to be t mobile base roms I know you can pretty much flash anything onto the I 317 from t-mobile as far as I have read but I was curious about the radio and modem part of it
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Most Rom's don't include the modem!!!! But when flashing a Rom the OP should state that this Rom is compatible across many devices!
And yes if you mix match the wrong modem with your phone you'll end up with a boot loop:banghead:! Fyi
There's a few AT&T Rom's that a few TMO users have tried and work great.
I'm running SKY NOTE on both my AT&T & TMO GN2 with no problems. And GW set-up on both of them.

I understand but what im looking for is a tmobile rom that flashes fine with wifi calling or an att rom that was rebuilt with t mobile wifi calling. All I want is a rom that has wifi calling wethwr is att rebuilt or t mobile based . That will flash to the i317.
I know of one its just stock t889-i317 with the wifi calling Built 4.1.2 but its plain jane.
No matter how much I google oe look under and development for eqch forum I cant pinpoint one rom that has this.
Thus why im asking outright as a question.
This is all temporarily until I can trade for a branded t889

[Q] ROMs with integrated wifi calling

Hi,
I heard that tmobile based roms can have integrated wifi calling. Is there a technical name in the feature lists i'm looking for? I can't seem to find one ..
Can anyone recommend me 1 or 2 roms to choose from that support integrated wifi calling? To compare my taste, I'm a fan of Hyperdrive rom at the moment I love touchwiz/aosp combos with s4 themes.
my signature, there is a list in there click and read the threads and look at the images they offer in their OP.
S3Rx 1.5
Dandroid
z999
Those are very good ROMs. All the devs did great work on all of them. There may be others that support wifi calling but these three are a few I think you will like
They are all in this section >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1645
Or my signature which has them labeled in my ROM guide... Lol

Perfect answers, thanks guys!!
Also a related question: I have a tmobile s3 t999 that's unlocked. I'll be moving to Taiwan next year. If I use a different provider (not tmobile), BUT i have a t999, can i still use integrated wifi calling features?

Just an fyi that any touchwiz based rom that is actually based off of the T-mobile framework has the Wifi calling integrated. Hyperdriive is actually a port from i believe at&t and therefor does not. Try most of the other ones and they do.In my opionion i think the best one right now is S3RX.

Yea, the reason why WIFI calling is only exclusive to T-mobile phones is because it goes directly into the T-mobile cell towers. That is also the reason of why the WIFI calling does use up your minutes (if not unlimited) as well. It will not work on any other network other than T-mobile.

Note that current versions of Dandroid include S3Rx in the caption. Danvdh writes that he "based Dandroid off of [S3Rx]"; and he and enewman17 may include Dandroid as a theme in the Aroma installer for S3Rx "for those who want [Danvdh's] awesome theme but want a full 'bloated' TW ROM."

Omega rom

Is working 100% on my SM-N900T with jovy's compulsion kernel everything that wasn't working before(wifi, bluetooth,NFC,etc) now works!! With this rom comes an aroma installer that lets you uninstall bloatware of upto 700mb!(i had over 25gb+ internal storage left) after getting rid of all bloat and this rom is smoking fast now! I should also mention that mattiadj's ext2internalsd mod works on Omega as well, i just used the galaxy s4 4.3 fat32.zip and now storages are swapped so all the large app data goes to extsd instead of internal storage. I still got way too much to setup on this phone but wanted to let people know about this
Just asking did u get a bug to internally wipe the SD card? It seemed to happen before to people when flashing omega on a non international phone

Updated my earlier post, but you can flash any n9005 rom in this thread
a little bit out of topic but what are the advantages and disadvantages of flashing a rom that is not for our note? are there any risks other than the obvious "you are responsible for what you do to your device" or "warranty is now void" risks?
1. Advantages are more variety of roms to choose from, the international roms are updated a lot quicker than USA versions(because it was released over there first, I believe latest firmware over there is mj7). Some roms on the N9005 are pre-debloated for you (HAL room is 700mb rom! Omega has same slimness as HAL just got to choose what you want uninstalled/installed thru aroma).
2. Disadvantages, not many really as long as your only flashing the N9005 compatible LTE note 3 and not the incompatible N9000 (octocore exnyos).

Also, some of the features that the carrier offers are sometimes not supported, such as WiFi Calling.

so then i can download any n9005 rom and it will be compatible with n900t? and dirtybudha, how can we know if wifi or other features will work?
Wifi, bluetooth, gps, and nfc used to not work on international roms until the devs made that patch #2 which automagically patches all the above to work. But yea don't think tmobiles wifi calling will work on International roms.

It's a long known issue that WiFi calling won't work with ROMS developed outside of a T-Mobile ROM base. I'm not blessed with enough of an understanding of how it works, but ever since my HTC Vision (G2) I've read about WiFi calling not working on other ported or international ROMs.
Aside from that feature, everything else could technically work. Personally, I like the WiFi calling and prefer to maintain it on my phone's ROM.

So dam frustrated. I can't seem to download that patch to get all the radios working. Keep getting a .exe file that's only 300 or so kb. Is the patch posted anywhere else. Stupid false links all over that page. Whoever thinks they can do business by tricking you into pressing the wrong link is a f'ing idiot.

Yeah wifi-calling will never work on international roms. Which is fine because wifi-calling causes more issues than it fixes. The majority of my calls get dropped and it breaks messaging more often than not. PITA.

KitKat with WiFi calling does not exist as of this posting. dbombROM, Wicked or anything base on T-mobile TWz (4.3 is the latest) firmware will have WiFi calling.
thanks! i'll try wicked.
There technically are 4.4 Roms that exist with WiFi calling, but they're leaks and not to be considered as daily drivers in my opinion.

The only "leaked" 4.4 I've seen are for the international model (i9505) Only T-mobile firmware will have WiFi calling.

Unfortunately this is more like an International (19505) forum rather than a T-Mobile (M919) one right now as far as new roms are concerned. I tried several 4.4 builds and they even change your model type to a 19505 in your device settings.

Wifi calling after root & rom install?

Most of the stuff I've seen is from 2013 saying you can't have wifi calling on a t-mobile s3 if it's rooted. Is this true still?

What hasn't ever been true?
The only way this would be true is if you didn't have a T-mobile rom on your device... if you're running a Carbon Rom or Omnirom or some other ASOP rom on your phone, you wouldn't have this... or a rom ported from AT&T or what not.

That you can't have Wi-Fi calling if you root. As stated in earlier posts, the only way you won't have Wi-Fi calling is if you flash an aosp/cm ROM or a ported ROM from another carrier. Touchwiz T-Mobile ROMs or just plain root won't kill Wi-Fi calling
