You are in the way to mess your device. You can not flash a custom rom as a RUU...it has no partitions on it and will problaby brick it. Besides, you are not S-OFF to flash custom roms, however you have superCID which is weird. In addition, you can never flash a RUU with an unlocked bootloader.
I see two possibilities here:
Unlock the bootloader again, flash CWM recovery and then a custom rom
Use the Hack Kit to gain S-OFF and then flash any rom you like (after getting it to boot properly)
P.S.: Delete your IMEI from the fastboot getvar all options. It is not needed and dangerous.
Option 1:
With unlocked bootloader flash of any custom rom results with
fastboot flash zip pd98img.zip --> Failed (Remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)
After flash of CWM got no access to recovery as it stucks on green htc
Option 2:
I think it's not possible to use AAHK method without adb connectivity
So ... it means out of options ??

You are not paying attention, are you? If you try to flash a custom rom in PD98IMG.zip way you will brick your device. Besides, PD98IMG file can not be flashed with unlocked bootloaders.
OPTION 1
Unlock bootloader
FLASH CWM RECOVERY
Flash custom rom after full wipe
flash gapps if needed
reboot in fastboot
flash boot.img
reboot
Trying not to get lost in all these methods. Thank You for explanations.
Anyway...the thing is that after I unlock bootloder with HTC dev method, then flash CWM through fastboot I can't access recovery so can't go any further- stuck on green htc logo. Tried few versions of CWM incl. touch one.

Umm...the that seems To be a hardware issue. Does the flashing ends ok?
Flashing of CWM ad well as flashing of proper stock RUU ends without errors. Shall I start searching for spare mobo?

hold, how are you flashing CWM?? let's be sure that you are flashing things right first.
Flashing CWM through fastboot command
fastboot flash recovery cwmfile.img
which ends without errors

ok, that is correct. And what about flashing a RUU? Have you tried? what error does that give?
After I lock bootloader flashing of
RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_ARA_3.13.415.2_Radio_12.65.6 0.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_227469_signed

Then yes, that is a bad mobo. If the RUU flashes OK and you still are stuck at splash screen, it is a hardware issue. I am sorry 'bout that..

Using the exe RUU it's again s-off.... that's strange, isn't it?
up.
do I have tu erase the recovery with fastboot in order to re flash it?
i've already viewed the Bortak's guide but nothing worked
I never need to erase anything before flash recovery.
You probably not S-OFF, try to boot into bootloader first by turn it on while holding back key, what do you see on that screen ?
so i've tried many things and.... it boots!
i've downgraded the alpharev hboot
then install recovery via fastboot
install hboot cm7
flash radio
and flash cm7 rom and wipe
thx to all the support provided by this forum!
how do you do that?
Hi, can some one respond to this? perhaps I bricked my Z doing:
I had rooted and S-OFF and I flashed PC10IMG_Vision_TMOUS_1.19.531.1_Radio_12.21.60.09b_26.02.01.15_M2_release_149459_signed.zip"
as I wanted to return to original stock rom. I did it from Goldcard SD card, what I prepared before. By doing this I lost root but remained S-OFF
Than I followed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision#Unrooting_and_Returning_to_Stock go to S-ON and I managed this. Everything was going smooth so later when I was non root and S-ON, an OTA update came and I confirmed. Also next OTA update 2.3.3 T-mobile came with 73MB update and I confirmed too later. But the phone stucked after second update to 2.3.3 on HTC Logo and does not boot system.
- Hboot works
- recovery does not work (red attention mark)
- I have working fastboot and adb from PC
- phone is now S-ON and not rooted
... but not sure how to continue
tried flash new recovery but all fastboot end up like this:
Code:
$ fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-vision.img
sending 'recovery' (4466 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.770s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 1.261s
I can not flash another PC10IMG.zip as it says, no valid ID.
Really sucked here.
Anyone some good ideas or phone is postmortem?
You flashed a g2 rom on your dz?
I'd say grab the lastest rom from http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Vision
and flash it via ruu mode (fastboot oem rebootRUU, fastboot flash zip nameOfZip.zip)
-Nipqer
Yes I did
I tried now as per your advise, but I have signature errors, tried two zips, same result.
Code:
$ fastboot flash zip Vision_TMOUS_1.12.531.0_Radio_12.18.60.05P_26.01.00.17_M2_144460.zip
sending 'zip' (118430 KB)...
OKAY [ 20.029s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 33.034s
Any Ideas?

Solved by creating GC by different method. Looks we did not have working GC before.
Can you be a bit more specific?

You cannot ruu while s-off is there. Make it S-ON and try aggain, but before making s-on flash a custom recovery. Just to be safe

I'm not sure what are you talking about, what custom recovery before you do s-on?
The proper way to do that is to flash downgrade hboot from alpharev via fastboot and then run ruu.

or is there a exe file? sorry for noob q's

As I understood you got s-off via htc site?
Then you don't have access to radio and hboot partitions only to recovery, system and data so it's not allowed to flash hboot via fastboot.
You can flash recovery from here:
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager/
download proper recovery.img and flash it via fastboot. You have to type the path correctly to the space where you stored it, ie:
fastboot flash recovery c:\recovery.img
Then go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328
find and flash a rom of your choice. These are custom roms and are flashable from recovery (install zip from sd card command).

ok download latest OTA 4.18,401,4 forom HERE
after read this
How to flash?
(bootloader needs to be relocked)
Re-lock your bootloader (this will most probably wipe content of your device)
Copy downloaded .zip to fastboot.exe location (e.g. c:/SDK/platform-tools/fastboot.exe)
Re-name .zip file to firmware.zip
Open command prompt
Boot your device in fastboot mode (vol down + power ===> fastboot)
Connect device to the PC
In command prompt cd to fastboot.exe location
Make sure you have correct modeid and cidnum (type: fastboot getvar all)
Type: fastboot oem lock (if your device is not relocked yet)
Type: fastboot oem rebootRUU and wait for device to reboot
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Sometimes flashing for the first time doesn't work, so flash firmware.zip again just to make sure.
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Type: fastboot reboot
Unlock your bootloader and flash custom recovery if you are going to use custom ROM.

So i had custom rom installed by previous owner, but which i did not like, so i wanted to go stock.
After following some guide i managed to flash new rom into my DZ using CWM and all hell broke loose.
My DZ refused to boot, only gives me the white htc screen and vibrates once.
From hboot i tried go back into recovery, which gives me same white screen with htc logo and vibrates once. Same goes for Factory reset option.
After week of browsing xda forums and google, i finally gave up. Thou i managed once to reboot into G2 os after attempted flash trhu PC10IMG method or from recovery as first attempt, not sure. Which i thougt was supposed to be DZ rom, but was not. This rom might have reduced my system partition, i dont know how to confirm this.
Fastboot works, but no adb since i have no OS running atm.
Fastboot getvar all gives me this:

At this point i dont want to go solo anymore, so im crying out for help on this one... I want to save this awesome Desire Z
Edit: I am able to flash recovery using fastboot flash recovery recovery.img but recovery option is still useless (does the white screen htc logo vibrating once thingy)
Boot to bootloader and write down all on that screen here
Then in bootloader choose image CRC and write down all that (may take 5min to run)
Then we will go from there

Then i have Fastboot, recovery, factory reset, simlock, system info and image crc in this order.
In image CRC i have:
hboot : 0x2A125CF4
boot : 0xD28A4324
recovery : 0x26A3CD9C
system : 0x0
Then it promts me to press power key to go back
Alright, you are looking good and most likely this isn't a brick, should be easy to recover
Do these steps
Go to fastboot mode and run
fastboot erase system -w
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
Now you want the most recent recovery, probably latest 4ext (see this thread for recovery links - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348266
In second post along with lots of other good links
Now take this image and
fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now choose recovery
If this gets you there flash ROM of choice (and gapps if needed) in this new recovery
Reboot
If anything fails or you can't find links let me know
Best of luck!

The second post in this thread you will find a section on adb and fastboot, the how to why to link brings you to a guide on fastboot
Flash the dz hboot from there (be sure to check md5sum)
I'm under the impression you have a corrupt partition right now so
fastboot flash hboot hboot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now start over with the same fast boot erase and flash commands from prior
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Still no luck.
I flashed hboot_7230_0.82.0000_100902.nb0, which i got from the PC10IMG.zip mentioned in thread.
Image CRC from hboot did not change after flash, so i guess i had the exact same hboot.
I repeated all the steps you mentioned and it gave me same error messages.
Still willing to help me?
You should have the .84.2000 according to your bootloader
Maybe try flashing the dz pc10img.zip in post 30 of that thread, many have said it fixed similar problems for them

Did that and repeated all again. Did not do anything :/ only recovery crc changed, but flashed recovery did not work so i flashed the 4ext again, still no access to recovery
Any ideas? Maybe im stuck with G2 system size since i flashed G2 rom back then, which i got to boot. Should i try that again? If so, any hints to do it properly?
Unzip that pc10img.zip that was linked in post 30 from the fastboot thread, use the dz one and flash just the bootloader with fastboot
There is an issue somewhere and I'm under the impression that if we can successfully flash this bootloader all will be good
Otherwise try this
Boot to bootloader
fastboot rebootRUU
fastboot flash update dzpc10img.zip
Of course replace with whatever the proper name is (forget off hand)
And then note all input/output from cmd here

Do you mean fastboot update DZPC10IMG.zip since fastboot flash update DZPC10IMG.zip gives unknown partition error.
Sounds right, its been probably at least a year or two since I've worked on this, take a look at my threads and you'll see two comprehensive guides on fastboot which will have all the proper steps

I was able to flash stock rom extracted from RUU.
I used fastboot oem rebootRUU and then fastboot flash zip rom.zip and everything went OK.
However, i still cannot access recovery nor boot my phone.
Atm my hboot is 0.85.0013 SHIP S-OFF
Radio 26.10.04.03_M
Image CRC :

Any leads where to go from here?
Um, what RUU did you use? Did you use the one I made from my post? You should have a different bootloader if so

I was able to flash DZPC10IMG.zip from rebootRUU but that did no good either so i tried to flash this rom from this RUU RUU_Vision_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.42.405.2_Radio_12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M_release_199043_signed.exe
Which i believe is supposed to be latest stock rom from DZ... correct me if im wrong
The problem with flashing a random PC10IMG.zip is that it will change your hboot, recovery, radio, etc
Not all this firmware is 100% compatible and can cause issues depending on your phones current state
Can you link the guide you followed originally by the way? Want to see if I can figure out what happened to your phone

I have no idea where that guide is now, but if my memory serves me well, i flashed PC10IMG_Vision_TMOUS_1.19.531.1_Radio_12.21.60.09b_26.02.01.15_M2_release_149459_signed.zip from cwm recovery. After that i was able to boot into G2 rom for a while, thou my onscreen buttons didnt work (back and home etc) after that, no idea.
Edit: I do have my old DZ with working CWM v3.0.2.4 recovery. Can i use that in my advantage somehow?
