Question is basically in my title, I wish to know how / if it is even possible to root an Optimus G E971 On Rogers, im not worried about bricking, etc. i have a warranty that covers bricking.. and all that kind of ****.
I basically updated to 97110E before checking for a root.. it completely slipped my mind,
I hear theres alot of spider cracks going around on the back of the glass housing.. but needless to say, i wanna root this beast. > and im asking for your guyses help doing it! i had nothing but good help from here with my Optimus 3D (sold it needless to say it was a piece of ****)
So, Summarising, Is there a root for 97110E on Rogers? if not, Can i reflash back to stock 97110 ? thanks in advance!
Hate to bump my own bloody thread. But this is rediculous! come on. ive been waiting a week now.. -.- Doesnt ANYONE know how to root the E971??

The program normally stops responding for a bit but that because its extracting a 1gb file. But it will resume on its own.

Hi,
Just bought an Optimus G today and noticed that the lock/unlock/power button is very sensitive, to the point that I accidentally turned off the phone, when putting it in the inside pocket of my jacket. Previously I had a SGS 3 and the lock/unlock button had more of a tactile feel to it and it was not easily or accidentally pressed.
Has anyone here experienced this? Wondering if I should exchange for another one?
It'd check into another one personally... haven't had that issue yet on my end

I'm the owner of E975.
Have a problem with lock/unlock button.
Sometimes I cannot wake up or lock the phone, must to press the button two or three times.
The phone was in service for changing the digitizer.
I've made an update on 4.4.2 KK shortly before.
Can be this software issue?
Have someone same experience what it can cause?

Are you running stock KK? This seems to be a known issue on some stock-based ROMs like VDT, and I believe Sling, too. I recall reading comments from other people about this. I have this issue sometimes on VDT v23 (need to press the button twice), but just got used to it. Might be a general problem of LG KK stock, I dunno... But definitely a software issue. Didn't happen on JB.

Yes, I'm using stock KK.
I don't remember it do it before I send it to service, so I was thinking service do something bad when changing the digitizer, but possibly it could do it even before service.
It will be great if someone with stock KK can answer, if he has the same issue .
Yes, this is an issue with stock Kitkat, I have that issue too. It is annoying, but you'll get used to it or something like that. Some times I end up pressing like 6 to 8 times to just turn on the screen, it's so annoying..

Wow... That never happens on my phone, sometimes I have to press it the second time, that's it. But thanks for confirming, I wasn't sure if it was the stock KK problem...

Don't you know if LG is planning some issue upgrade on Optimus G?

No idea about F180L, but I can tell you that I successfully flashed it on my F180S. However, I can't remember what modifications I did to the install package and/or the script in the last V23 version... With all previous versions of Sling and VDT, I always tweaked the package to only install things that I need, and get rid of everything else that I don't want to change (like modem, recovery and BL); I never installed the whole thing with the patch and everything. I can take a look at the files on my home PC tonight and let you know.
BTW, this seems to be offtopic in this thread...
i think this may help. its kinda cool if u have flipcase,
here, check this out
I have a question, well.. Not one, but a lot of ones.
I have been seeing on XDA Forum topics about LG Optimus G Intl E975. Random people have said that they were doing something and then the phone turned off and never turned on again. It is kind of a hardbrick. Maybe not a lot of people tho. What are the chances of that? That's something that is bothering me about rooting and unlocking the bootloader then installing CM11 or any other custom roms. Right now I am on stock 4.1.2 on my LG Optimus G E975. I have had a bad experience in the past with hardbricking, and I am trying to be more careful now. But what are the chances of that? I mean, if I root right now and unlock the bootloader using Freegee and flashing CM11? If I do everything correct, should I worry about something? The only bugs that would really affect me is if apps force closes, stuttering or lag when in the UI and music lag in the background, in the past i've been through that, I was playing some music, then I went to another app, lets say Facebook and the music lagged or skipped. What else.. Buggy buttons or unresponsive touch screen, but that's it. And connection? Wifi, GSM, bluetooth, MHL or NFC? I barely use MHL and NFC, but still it's better to have them than not. That it, thank you for your time!
I've had my G3 for over a month now without many issues, however yesterday evening my phone randomly rebooted itself, and ever since reboots every few minutes, often when I unlock my phone or shortly after. I have booted in to safe mode, and reflashed both the latest i and j firmware updates but no success.
Any ideas or anything I can try to dig in to the issue further?
By any chance did you enable ART runtime in settings? Otherwise maybe you have a corrupt sdcard.
Did you try booting into recovery to delete the cache? All else fails, you might need to factory reset.

Its probably due to either overheating or you messed with something in the build.prop.
First is your phone rooted? If it is then did you do anything system-wise? (Xposed framework or edit the build.prop or attempt to "flash" something)?

Thanks, unfortunately I'm still on Dalvik, and have removed my sdcard to try and remove another piece from the puzzle. I've factory reset and also flashed both an i and a j kdz using LGFlashTool2014.
Is it worth me following the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475045 or is the LGFlashTool2014 the same thing?

I've had Xposed installed with a few modules since I first had the phone, and hadn't added any new modules recently, although I guess possibly one of them may have updated. I've since done a factory reset and flashed however so can no longer check. Would I be right to assume the re-flash would have put everything back in a stock state?

Reflash puts everything the way it was when you first took the phone off the box with the excitement and love.

Xposed causes my LG to reboot every few minutes, so it could be that.
Just for extra info...I had an optimus g pro and the same thing was happening...I sent it in for repair...but that didn't fix the problem...here is what fixed it from rebooting...I replaced the battery...yep it was the battery causing it...put the old one in and it started rebooting again...put the new one in again and no reboots...don't know if this will help you but it's what happened to me

Really? Seems far fetched, but I'm willing to try anything now! I'll test with a colleagues battery tomorrow and let you know how I get on!

Unfortunately that didn't work either. Looks like it'll have to go back for repair.
As a last gasp attempt to see if anyone else has any thoughts, I've noticed the following message in the logcat near when the phone restarts itselfL
[ 09-24 20:49:38.359 331: 331 E/ThermalEngine ]

I can't find anything online but I wonder if the phone is thinking it is overheating and therefore restarting? The device feels cold to the touch so I don't think it is actually overheating
Sounds like one of the chips is overheating. Maybe not be seating with the heatsink or whatever is supposed to help it keep cool. Ide take it back and get a replacement.

Interesting development, I flashed the Deviant CM11 AOSP rom on to it (using Tethered TWRP) and whilst it couldn't do much it lasted a whole day without rebooting. Unfortunately flashing the stock firmware or any other kdz back to the device causes the rebooting again. I'm still suspecting it could be a thermal issue, the phone wasn't exactly being stressed on Deviant.
My LG G3 D855 LCD has no issue, but the touch screen has dead spots, recently, i tried the "igniter trick" on lighter but it got worst. Then after how many weeks, the deadspot on my g3 fixed, but on the "notification area" didnt fixed. So i can't slip down the task bar "wifi, data mobile, flashlight, etc shortcuts". Is there any fix on dead spot? I got no tempered glass.
Two dead spots area, the one's fixed already, it just came back.
i cant pull down the tray (dead spot)
Yp!!!!!!!!!!

Are you at Stock right?
If you are,then try
-Reflashing your Android Operating System
-Custom ROM try:
-Wipe Dalvic cache and Cache. If even that doesn't work the reflash your ROM.
-If nothing worked then buy a new LCD.
Oh man reflashing? Does factory reset not work?

I think everything will be pointless so..i recommend you buying a new screen for your phone.
Happy new year
Mine started having problems last week for no reason, it just started to fail on me..started in the status bar area and has gotten worse..
Eveything else is working fine, so this is a bit of a shame..
I did a quick Google search and found others also have the same problem.
Already tried reflashing different firmware from N to M but didn't fix it.
I think LG failed on their QC or this might have been an issue with being on the cutting edge, as this is the first 2k display and the thinnest bezel of its time.
My D855 is about a year old, so maybe instead of replacing the digitizer, I might replace the entire phone altogether.
