Just received my G2 today. Trying a few things out and here's one of them. These Skins are very lite.
Install the latest BusyBox.
Only tested on Build 1.22.531.8.

tried installing busy box and that gives me an error too... ugh. damnit. i hate the white notification bar... ill keep playing with it. hopefully i can get it to work.
alright.. might have to do with the fact im on the first build.. i don't want to update my g2.

could be why mine isn't working as well.....wonder what the difference is?

I'm on the original build as well and it works for me. I used a different theme though. Are you rooted?

most likely.... anyone wanna do me a HUGE favor and make me a black notification bar?? i would love you forever..

thanks for the metamorph.. worked like a charm finally.. after downloading andexplorer.. didn't need busybox. i went to apply theme and it was in my folder and worked.. would write up a guide.. (since i found my mistake) but time to burn some trees.

There's already a black metamorph for G2, problem is, without CM mod settings, we cant change the text clock and notification colors. So it's black on black. Either use enomthr's rom, or a grey metamorph.

That is easier said than done almost every Rom would need a different flashable zip that is why there is not one I know there is one for aokp millstone 5 but that's all I know... You could probably do it yourself just pick a Rom and change the icon

You just need to swap around the filenames in the SystemUI.apk so that it will show the 4g icons when you are using Hspa

-extract SystemUI.apk from /system/app
-move to your computer
-rename SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.zip
-go in and mess around, go figure, do not extract the zip, or it won't work.

Interesting. I did that exactly and then I renamed it back to SystemUI.apk and did an overwrite in /system/app but the connection still shows H instead of 4G. I basically renamed the 4G and H icon files vice versa. That should work right? I did a reboot as well. Do I have to keep it as zip and then flash it using recovery instead?

When I come home I can try to do something with metamorph. Then it can be used on any rom/version.

Will this work with AOSP stock JB?

why is the H horrible? It's a much more accurate indicator of network type than "4G". G's are just marketing BS, HSPA is what you're using...

It's not a flashable zip.
Try messing with other folders, i recalled the SystemUI.apk having 2 or more folders with these icons.

This is awesome and worked really well but it got rid of my Battery display.

Hi All, the attached flashable zip will stop several of the annoying "nag" notifications in the statusbar, including the Carrier Label, "GPS Searching", "Battery Full" and "Select Input Method" notifications that drive me crazy. As the Wifi notification has already been addressed in another thread, I did not include it, but I can if people want an all-in-one solution (mine likely nwould be done a different way). This is based on the latest UCALJ2 firmware and is DE-ODEXED.
I have ben running this for several hours, and all seems OK, but, as always, you flash this mod at your own risk and I am not responsible for what happens. If people notice any bugs or FC,s please let me know in the thread.
PLEASE NOTE: This will replace your SystemUI.apk and services.jar. Accordingly, if you are using a ROM that has custom versions of either of those files, this will remove said customization! Please ask your dev if this is the case, and, if so, ask to have the changes made compatible with the ROM in question (I am happy to provide code, but it's way too much for a "How To").
To Install:
Make NANDROID Backup;
Download http://d-h.st/Rmx and place on internal or external SDCard;
Reboot into recovery;
Flash zip in recovery (dalvik wipe recommended);
Enjoy!

1. Will enacting this mod alter the signal indicator icons? (4G LTE, 4G, etc). Because in another thread for a custom ROM, you had the choice to apply the "Canada" style status bar with no Carrier Label, but the signal indicator would not be like the AT&T version, so I was not sure if this mod swapped them out.
2. Would I still be able to switch my keyboard on the fly when I am typing? or does removing the icon also remove the entire notification?

I can confirm that this has the ATT icons. Also, works great on CleanROM with Perseus kernel.

Im on stock kernel, CleanROM. Awesomeness

Att icons are unaffected. It will prevent you from changing input method on the fly. I am happy to make a version that doesn't (I.e., wont hide the ime notification), as that's the only useful one if thise I removed. Can lkely get it out tomorrow at some point.

BTW - I have added wifi removal to the zip, as I thought it would be nice to have it all in one zip. the wifi removal is coded by me and entails minimal coding, as the existing one looks like it may be from a different build...

I may be mistaken, but that does not appear to be a straight UCALJ2-based ROM...accordingly, this would not work properly.

Any chance of removing the ongoing NFC icon in the status bar? Now that Google Wallet can work on our devices I'm tired of that icon already.

[Theme][CM10][AOKP] Nexified Theme

I want to share a theme that I have had on the Play Store for about 5 months now. It was my very first theme taking me about 2 months of work before uploading to the Play Store. Some may like it, some may not. I would like to thank golfslicer for his great framework icons. Screenshots in attachments. Here. There should be some kind of indicators to show that data is being up/downloaded, normally in or by the signal bars. If they are there, they are not visible.

I noticed some of the Power WIdget icons weren't themed. Not a complaint, just for your information - see image.

AOSP Themed Status Bar For TouchWiz Based ROMs (4.1.2)​
I have been working on an AOSP themed status bar for a while now. After about 15 trial and errors I finally got one that worked correctly. I do use this on my latest LegendarySLIM ROM! I have decided that I would share it with you guys so if you dont feel like flashing a ROM and you just want the AOSP themed Status bar with the Wifi Icons, Signal Icons, Bluetooth Icon, Battery Icons, and Airplane Mode icon. The 4G and Edge Icons are still a little buggy and aren't fully AOSP yet. There will be multiple builds so keep coming back for updates!

*Signal in and Signal Out for Wifi-Icons is offset a little​

Build 2 released on sourceforge (will update link in a few minutes) this does fix flash error.

Everything is AOSP besides the data icons. They are pretty much stock with AOSP feel to it. But please go ahead and check out the Lethal Themes thread which has all of this information and everything!
