Hi Guys,
I am trying to root my HOX, i was able to unlock the bootloader and everything went smoothly up until the point where i am trying to flash the recovery on my phone. The problem is that now the HOX device isnt detected on my pc and i cant access the sdcard. Everytime i plug USB in to pc it says "Unable to connect to PC".
1. What should i do now to complete the recovery flash?
2. What can i do to fix the USB connection issue?
Many Thanks!
Try this: Go to Settings, Developer options, USB debugging (Tick block to enable). Also it might be driver related try to reinstall HTC Sync

Hello friends!
I'm having following problem... I want to unlock bootloader but the problem starts right there at the begining! I follow these intructions:
To install the RUU, simply follow these instructions:
On your phone, enable USB debugging. (From the Home screen, MENU > Settings > Applications > Development > Check USB debugging)
Connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable that came with your phone. Wait a moment for your computer to identify your phone, this may take a few minutes.
If your computer cannot find your phone, you may need to install HTC Sync. You can download HTC Sync here.
and the problem is... my computer doesnt find my phone and even after installing HTC Sync nothing happens! If I click on my phone HTC Sync it sais that it cannot be found n my computer... I really dont know what to do and I really want to unlock the bootloader
is there any other way to instal the RUU?
So I'm trying to unlock the bootloader so I can install some nice roms.
How ever when I try to install the update RUU HTC advices me to install nothing happens.
I get to "Connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable that came with your phone. Wait a moment for your computer to identify your phone, this may take a few minutes.
If your computer cannot find your phone, you may need to install HTC Sync. You can download HTC Sync here.
"
How ever the phone never gets recognized so running the RUU causes it to load and then close before giving me any options.
Hboot version is 0.90.0000 software version is 2.13.351.1
I've looked all over XDA and google for answers and couldn't find anything that worked.
Is there any other way to flash the RUU ? Fastboot maybe? ( I tried just running the RUU whilst in fastboot usb and it RUU still loads and then closes)
Oh yeah, trying to do all this on Win7 x64
*edit* Running the phone in usb storage mode allowed it to run, how ever thus far it does not seem to be working. Got an error message saying a directory was full. It's now" Veryifing information on your pda phone" been doing it a while though.
First:
Go into Settings, then choose Connect to PC.
Make sure "Ask Me" has a checkmark on it.
Second:
In the settings choose Applications, then Development and make sure USB debugging is checked off also.
When you connect the USB cable to the computer now do you get a message on your phone?
You should have three chooses for USB type; charge only, HTC Synch and Disk Drive.
If you are not getting this option then your computer is not connecting to the phone via USB. Either bad usb cable, bad usb port, or something wrong with the phone.
EDIT
Sorry just saw your edit. disregard my comment.

I get all these options, I can access the disk drive if I choose that option, if I choose sync that works etc.
Only this RUU that gives me problems
*EDIT* WOOO! found a work around, run RUU with storage mode on, then switch back to charge only after accepting disclaimer.
*Edit again* and of course, just as things seem to be going well the installer crashes, now the phone is stuck on some silver HTC logo.
It crashes as soon as it tells the phone to reboot to bootloader.
Bumping this instead of making a new thread.
Still having this issue if anyone can help.
As the title, when I connect my phone with pc via usb, boot into recovery, the computer cant detect any hardware, so I cant mount sdcard, cant mount system, cant adb connect to my phone in recovery mode
I try with my friend's phone with the same rom, same recovery img and it's [email protected]@

reset, reflash ton of roms, not efficient
I think driver doesnt play a role in this, with a non driver install PC I still can mount sdcard as removable disk drive with other phone
maybe a hardware problem?

One thing you can do is that when you plug your phone ... delete all all the devices with "Q" on it in your computer device manager.
then unplug and try plugging back.
sometime happens when window install other drivers for one device it stay stuck with it until you manually delete those drivers. Maybe thats the case. Your friends device id is configured with right drivers. You can also switch to another computer and install drivers there and check.

I have to confirm once more that this problem is not driver problems because it's not necessary driver when mount sdcard (test with other lu6200, other android model with non-driver PC)
I think my problem is hardware error or some wrong IMG is flashed in one strange partition (not system.img or baseband.img etc...) during my massing times of flash new rom
My HTC one x running cyanogen mod kitkat 4.4
whenever i connect my phone my computer is unable to recognise the device
I've tried everything uninstalled the drivers but nothing works
the device is not recognised in fastboot mode also.
pls help me resolve this issue.
try using a different usb cable. reinstall drivers, a genuine htc usb cable should work. try this as well (worked for me): http://adbdriver.com/downloads/
also in your device manager, check if there is "android phone" with yellow triangle. right click it and update driver manually
If reinstalling drivers fails, and you need to get to stuff stored on it, you could try and mount the storage in your recovery (CWM or TWRP) and get stuff off.
I have an HTC One M8 by T-Mobile, running the latest firmware, unlocked, rooted and on Android 5.0 Lollipop with the stock recovery. (I put the stock recovery back on because I had no need for the custom at the time and charging would bring me through the recovery and be real annoying).
I had no problem doing all of this but now (a few weeks later) I need to get the custom recovery back on in order to flash a new ROM.
Problem is, I'm connecting my phone to my computer and I can't get ADB to connect, HTC Sync Manager shows there's no device connected and windows explorer only shows a new CD Drive connected and mounted on (F that doesn't work and does not act as a storage platform for my phone.
What I have tried:
Disabling USB Debugging
Restarting Phone
Re-enabling USB Debugging
Un-installing HTC Sync Manager
Force installing "androidusb.INF"
uninstalling HTC Sync Manager, unplugging phone, disabling usb debugging, turning off phone and then going back through again, installing, plugging in turning on and enabling.
Really puzzled here, need to connect to ADB to flash custom recovery to go back to my stock ROM.
Try using the generic Android MTP drivers in Device manager. Of course you could also check all the basics as well.
Try a different port or a different cable. Try to kill the adb server and restart it. Can also try revoking the USB permissions and accepting again when prompted on the device.
Though you don't really need adb to flash the recovery, it needs to work in Fastboot mode. ADB will only work in a running OS or in a recovery, fastboot of course from fastboot mode, which is what you'll need in order to flash the recovery. You won't need USB debugging enabled for it either.
Try some of the stuff above, especially if maybe it's a cable or port issue.
I realize you may find a solution before even considering the option below ⬇

If you have an extra rooted device and get the cable coming you will never have to worry about troubleshooting drivers again considering after an ruu or a conversion you will go through the possible issues of drivers more than once
I've changed my CID,MID,flashed recovery with this method.
Being S-OFF I've not needed to try an ruu through ruu mode but would guarantee it will do the job
