Hi,
I'd like to know what happen, if I push the factory reset button in twrp 2.0.0.
Delete this my SDcard? Is after that the twrp still present?
Thanks for your help.
Frank
Factory reset just erases the /data portion of your device. It will not wipe your sdcard. And yes twrp will still be there

Now I think I know the answer, but by doing a factory reset wipe, do I delete the files on my SD?
It has begun...
I actually had a question like this too, if I were to factory wipe my SD card, would I loose root? I've wanted to start from scratch with as much of a clean slate as I could without losing root to make my own ROM, just didn't know how close I could actually get.
Still need this answered, any help is appreciated.
No its like when you do data wipe in recovery.
FACTORY RESET WIPE will erase all user info from internal storage. Dloaded apps, contacts, accounts... This will not erase any contents of the SDcard.
FORMAT SDCARD will erase all memory stored on card.
Edit: you will not lose root from factory reset.
Info appreciated.

OKay, I know its been asked in many thread and I am posting here because there are confusing answers floating around.
I am currently unlocked (bootloader), have CWM 5.5.0.2 recovery running and run a flavor of AOKP with my choice of kernel.
Now, when I perform a factory reset via the backup and restore menu in settings, it doesn't erase the sdcard contents. Why are people stating that this "factory reset" will erase everything, when in my case it doesn't?
locking the bootloader and then unlocking will do it, but then why are people stating that factory reset should also wipe sdcard partition in the galaxy nexus.
Is it because im running CWM instead of the stock recovery? Or is the above assumption about factory reset erasing everything (including photos/downloads, etc) simply incorrect?
thanks

if i'm not mistaken, CWR will never erase the /sdcard partition because if you wipe everything before installing a rom, you then delete the /sdcard partition where the rom .zip is stored.
stock recovery might be different and might wipe everything out and revert everything to stock, but i'm not 100% on that.
Maybe because Factory Reset from Settings normally does this. Perhaps Google wised up and fixed it with ICS 4.0
That said, CWM won't erase your SD card partition. And if you say a Factory Wipe doesn't either, you can try going to CWM and Format SD Card partition. If that doesn't work then you really only have 1 choice ATM.
Just relock/unlock/relock your phone.
There should be other FULL FORMAT methods that erase everything. Perhaps an update.zip file... Or ADB commands?
But why make it harder then you have too? Just do the unlock method. Boom! Done.

Well, because while I am already unlocked, I shouldn't have to lock the bootloader and re-unlock it again just for the purpose of erasing SD Card.
CWM doesn't have an option to erase SD Card
But Factory Reset through the settings menu certainly doesn't wipe everything while I'm rooted and running CWM with AOKP.

I am no expert... And I use TWRP (you can get by downloading goo manager from the market)
I did a system wipe...
Which deletes all contents from your SD including previous back-ups
(so back up everything to a harddrive 1st)
The I used wugfresh to put the stock software back on
Then I flashed my desired ROM (Mmuzzy)

System wipe only wipes the /system partition and doesn't touch the sdcard, for future reference. If your sdcard gets wiped to something must be wrong.
I have Firetv stick (tank) with TWRP with official FireTV OS.
When I do factory reset, it does not clean the internal storage.
Is there anyway possible to do factory reset, where the storage is also cleaned?

Yes, format data, reboot to recovery and flash latest magisk again to make sure there is no problems with root.
Afterwards reboot system from there, you will have to register your account again

Thank you for your answer.
You mean I should "format data" from TWRP?
Is there any command for it?
I have not used Magisk for Tank, which functions do you use personally?
