Whats the difference in 4.2.2 & 4.1.2 ? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I got my Kid the Nexus 7 tablet. I noticed the developer options were gone after the update. What sucked was, we changed the Animation Scales and could not go back in there to change back. (Q) If the Note 2 gets 4.2.2 are the developing options still going to be there? What else will change? Anything really kool coming to our Note2?

Key Lime Pie is at the top....

If to tap build number 7 times developer options in unlocked

Shows a lot. Even Kie Lime Pie...
I'm thinking about trying out 4.2.2 now...

That's what I'm running.

The Dev options are there. Just tap build number 7 times as stated.
Also 4.2.2 is barely different from 4.2.1
But the jump from 4.1 to 4.2 was significant.
Biggest difference is notification bar has the new quick launch feature. Which is like a separate menu for quick toggles. And the lock screen has widgets. I believe that was new.
The camera is different

Which ROM do you have? I just saw that there was a Jedi 4.2.2 out now. I'm tempted.

I jump around and try them all. Right now I'm back on the new carbon build, but I did just download the Jedi cm build. I may try that later today.

Carbon? Could you post the link for me? Is it better than SKYNOTE 8.1 you think? I will give it a try. I dont have any bugs or issues with Seans build so far. Never tried 4.2.2. I will hit the thanks for you.

If you go into the original development section the 4.2.2 ROMs are in there. Its all preference though. Sky note is nice, for a stock Samsung feel. I like stock android though, so I prefer aosp ROMs. I never used multi window, and don't use the spen apps so I'm not missing anything from the touch wiz based ROMs.

well its like having a 2011 (4.1.2) 800hp lambo or a 2013 (4.2.2) lambo with 1200 hp which do you choose.

You could always use the xposed framework and set apps to a different resolution and dpi. I changed gmail to a lower dpi and it's now in tablet mode.

Any Other Suggestion??
Thanks, but any other suggestion???
Any other ROM or Mod Which work with samsung base??? not CM or AOSP..in which Native video call, NAtive touchwiz and other things are missing. I am searching a rom in which everything stock with tablet mod. In Note 1 section there are many that kind of rom but being bigger screen and advance device note II has no tablet like roms..if anyone knows that kind of rom or mod please Help me!:highfive:
Your options are either Paranoid Android or a stock rom with xposed framework with Xposedappsettings so you can change dpi and switch to tablet mode for the apps you want.

Hmmm I see you want tw + tablet mode.
For that I think you can only use build.prop tweaks.
I think jellybam was 4.1.2 though aosp.

Opinions on 4.2

Does anyone truly like it? I find the extra page for toggles to be an annoyance to get to, and requires extra time. It just looks nice. The lock-screen also defeats all purpose of having a lock screen, and removes useful shortcuts (I know these can be added in through some cm or aokp builds but still). I didn't think it was possible for a new android version to really take a step back in terms of functionality but 4.2 really did. Scrolling isn't nearly as good as it was in 4.1 as well. But this is all my opinion, I'm interested to hear what you guys think. I'm looking to drop back to 4.1, and I'm hoping key lime pie gets rid of lock-screen widgets
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Yes I like it. And a few milliseconds don't hurt. I don't think android took steps back, it took 3+ steps ahead.

I like it.. Looks pretty good.
Although, I do agree somewhat with the lockscreen. When I had messages as one of the pages on the lockscreen, I wish I could just text them from there. But instead, you press it and it goes to the messaging app instead.
Agreed. With lockscreen and toggles. If I remember correctly though, pure AOSP that ships on nexus devices prior to 4.2 didn't have toggles. That's a luxury that was only afforded to root users. So really it was a step forward.
In my opinion though, they should have implemented CM's toggles and called it good.

I love it, So much smoother at least when it comes to cm10 vs cm10.1 depends on the ROM you are using, Baked Black Bean its amazing and there are quite a few new 4.2 ROMs out in the last couple weeks
I dunno, I'm using the first aokp build that came out and its stuttering like crazy, especially the xda app

I'm getting 3.5 or so screen time consistently with black bean. I'm actually getting better battery life than ICS out the box and with the same installed apps. Smooth performance too. I'm liking 4.2 so far. I do miss the TW calendar and music player. They seemed to work the best for me. Tethering is also been hit or miss. Nothing a big deal breaker for me though.

I was using Sniper's Baked BlackBean ROM and I loved it but the only thing that's preventing me to stay with it is the limited 4G speed so I went back to Kobridge's Stock ROM.
In response to people who dislike the newly implemented toggles page: just swipe your notification bar with two fingers and voilà, straight to toggles.
Don't thank me, I figured it out from a review video myself (QBKing77 I believe, but I could be wrong). But should save you that extra second you were complaining about...

I think it is nice but, something they could have included in the original Jelly Bean instead of making a separate Jelly Bean version.

[REQUEST] New 4.2.2 !

I'd like to say "Hello" to all developers. I want to request them just a simple thingy :3
Every new ROM which is posted for T989 is based on CM 10.2 a.k.a Android 4.3.0 ... yes, ofc everybody wants to use the newest android system but there are still planty of T989 users which would like to run fast, smooth, stable and customized CM 10.1 (Android 4.2.2) based ROM with good battery life. In official cyanogenmod site (www.cyanogenmod.org) i saw there is official upload of CM 10.1 and it has STABLE STATUS. The version is from 23th September 2013 (23.09.2013). I installed it and used my phone like 3 days with cm 10.1 official. I didn't find any bugs.. only NFC cannot be turned off. So my request is:
Would some smart developer like to make port/ROM based on Official CM 10.1 with some customization (ofc if this is a must or etc) without any launchers like NOVA, Apex and so. Thank you in advance to all developers <3

Question about SlimKat rom

Yes, I know this is an alpha build. But why, exactly are the home screens 6x6 rather than the normal on this ROM. Its a great ROM, but this is bugging me. Not to mention everything on this alpha build is small. Does anyone know how to fix this? Maybe its just somewhere in the setting and I didn't see it. I've been flashing ROMs for years, and there's nothing like 4.4. I love it. I just don't like how everything is small I. This specific build. I looked at the nexus 5's home screen screenshots and it was 4x5 or 4x4. Not 6x6. Can I fix it or do I need to revert to my old 4.3.x rom until another 4.4 ROM comes out without the small sized everything?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but I rarely actually post anything on XDA because I have no reason to actually post something. I just read. But I don't have enough yet to post this in the actual SlimKat post in the development forum.
Thnx.

I believe its because the 4.4 contact and phone don't fully work with the nexus. That's what I was told, but the phone app is 4.4 so it doesn't make much since to me either. The contact app though is still 4.3 though.

Is there a 23 toggle mod for JB 4.3?

Just as the title states, I'm wondering if there's a 23 toggle mod for JB 4.3? I've flashed several TW based 4.3 roms and have yet to see it, they all use the stock toggles. I hope I'm not alone here, but I loved some of the features it brought, specifically Torch.
Thoughts?
