Hi! I have a question. Is it possible to make some kind of super reset to Galaxy Gio so it will look like out of the box if i need to take it back to the shop? I hope some one can answer my question.
W/ best,
Jyrx.
Factory reset - resets all to default.
Clear cache, dalvik etc, then flash a stock rom if you have flashd roms before, delete superuser.apk if you had root acces ... Stock rom flash required if you used clockworkmod recovery and custom roms or boot.img..

Will flashing a stock rom remove clockworkmod recovery aswell?

Yes , if you flash a stock rom via odin, you can see ut also writes recovery.rfs or something like that.

Flash an official firmware by ODIN and your phone will be like first time - Stock Recovery, no root, etc.
when i turn my phone on normal it goes straight to recovery because my system is somehow missing and recovery is in a bootloop how can i get my recovery back working?
Flash a rom like cm7 or anything, maybe you formatted the system
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
I didn't format system I can't flash cause when I turn it on its going straight to recovery which is in a bootloop.
In recovery you can flash!?
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
could you put your phone in download mode? if yes, put a stock rom on it, the recovery should be fixed then
voetbalremco i cant reach recovery anymore i dont even get past samsung anymore
could you send me a link to stock recovery roms and odin for our gio?
Edit: found it
Explain what works.
You said it boots into recovery!?
You should be able to get into download mode
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium

nice that worked
Now do a factory reset and reboot
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
i'm now getting error mounting system, cache etc while in recovery
You might have chosen an ext4 only recovery, choose ext4 + rfs
Sent from my HTC Sensation

You're not supposed to access the system while flashing.....
Sent from my GT-S5660 using XDA
didnt mean that it went to recovery when it was using odin for something and i saw in a flash that it said error accesing system
i think something is broke
Whas it rooted/custom kernel/custom recovery?
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
If you can get it into recovery, your not bricked by any means yet. Don't send it in. I think you may have a fragmented partition. Try flashing the gio ext4 converter which will format (and wipe) all your partitions and turn them into ext4 file system which is what cm7 uses. Then try to flash again. And wait for it to boot. Let us know. Link for the converter is here

No its not

Then......what's the problem with it?
Sent From My Galaxy Gio Using XDA Premium
for me it's nearly 450mb. with programs.
Mine mostly about 600 mb
Use another recovery and try mounting system, data, cache, sdcard and backup

Ok tried another version of CWM and now it works...my nandroid backup is over 450 mb

that size is corrupt..
if you allready flashed to stockrom with odin.. its mean your system is RFS.. and if you want to nandroid backup... use recovery support rfs only... CWM 5.0.2.6 by hyriand.
go to this thread .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313215
but, if you have customized/ formated your stock with other kernel with ext4 system.. you have to use Recovery with ext4 support.. use this

i wanted to go back to stock after installing a buggy cm10
Take out battery. Insert it back, goto recovery(HOME+POWER) & select "wipe data/factory reset". This worked for me!!
Or else, try flashing it again through odin. Ensure that it's the correct firmware suitable for ur device.
Sent Via XDA™ Premium
U should wipe data and factory reset before and after flashing via odin.
Then it will take about 3.4 mins to start up.

I'm using the latest lewa from Delanoister for a few days. Suddenly after a reboot I get stuck on the BNC logo. I flash CM7 from MMB and still get stuck on Android text. I wipe data, format system and flash ROMs but still got stuck. What can I do? :crying:
Flashing ROM for more than half a year, first time got stuck on this
I tried Odin, but after that I got bootloop and stuck on the samsung animation. During using Odin I found this as attached

after wiping, finally got into system, but still when I go into recovery, I saw this as shown in attachment. And I tried flashing custom ROMs but can't get into system, only stock ROM flashed through Odin can. Do you know why?
you need custom recovery, root acces, at least android 2.3.x. anld ext4formatter.zip rlthe first time installing a custom rom. you problably miss atleast one.

My procedure:
flash stock ROM (2.3.x) -> boot into recovery and wipe data -> can boot into system -> flash CWM using Odin -> flash ext4formatter.zip using CWM -> reboot and flash PX-recovery -> reboot into PX-recovery -> flash custom ROM (CM7 by MMB)
until the last step everything was fine, but stuck on android text after flashing custom ROM. Maybe I miss rooting? thanks anyway and I will try later
root before flashing CWM
