Flashtool
It would be awesome if it were that easy man, but unfortunately Flashtool is the best alternative unless your really patient
flashtool...... ?
I have a stock build on a rooted xperia play with unlocked bootloader ofc... im not too comfortable with the process of flashing new roms. i have no idear how to flash the kernal in ordre to flash cyanogenmod 7. any help doing so would be apriciated alot. thats why i asked if there where an alternative.
will something like Xcharger Reboot option be any helpfull ?
CyanogenMod 7.1 Official also includes CWM.
Installation guide:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_Play:_Full_Update_Guide
I like the openness of cyanogen but i like having all my playstation stuff sooo.. would it be possible to flash cwm when doing the cyanogenmod flash and then use flashtool to install stock 2.3.3 so i can backup and choose whichever one i want in the future?
thanks alot just what ive been looking for. but i have a question
i installed another stock rom on the phone version 2.3.3
Basebandversion 7x30A-AAABQMAZM-1290_21-22
and Kernalsystem 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected]#1
Will i have to install another kernal or can i just go haead and flash ?

For flashing CM you have to flash the CM kernel (boot.img) that comes in the zip package of CM , u hav to unzip the latest CM FXP package and flash boot.img through fastboot put the file boot.img in the same folder in your pc where fastboot is located and copy the CM Rom zip file on the root of your sdcard. Now connect ur phone in fastboot mode (turnoff & hold the search key while connecting to pc) check if ur phone is connected properly by entering the following command in command prompt
fastboot getvar version
if it return some value like 0.3 then ur connected correctly. Now for flashing the CM Kernel enter following command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If all is done correctly a message will appear in command prompt stating success. Now turn on the phone while the phone is booting up press the volume rocker repeatedly until the phone enters CWM recovery mode , now install the CM Rom from ur sdcard remember to perform a nandroid backup and wipe the data/cache before installing.

First restore ur phone to the official
firmware through nandroid restore (u had that backup right ?) then U have to use flashtool for flashing that official Rom, search for flashtool 2.9.1 beta (only this version is compatible with play not use version 3.0) u will find that in xda forums download the file and unpack on the desktop a folder flashtool will be created inside that folder look for subfolder named drivers there will be an executable file ggsetup.exe run that file to install the drivers necessary ,after that copy the firmware .ftf file in the subfolder named firmwares. Now switch off your phone but not connect to pc yet. Run flashtool.exe in that application you will find flash button click on it and then select the firmware u have downloaded to flash , now u will see several files such as adsp.sin etc show up on the right side of flashtool you have to select all those files by ctrl+a or click seperately to select all of them after you are done with it make sure you have clicked wipe data on the upper right side and then click flash now the flashtool screen will show this message - preparing files for flashing , now keep ur phone ready u have to connect ur phone only after a message showing a image of x10 popup because it has some timeout (keep the back button pressed when connecting to pc a green led should lit up on power on/off button that means u are connected in flash mode) now the flashtool should also show phone connected and it will start flashing firmware automatically. Once flashing is done turn on the phone go to settings and turn on usb debugging and unknown sources.
After that u have to repeat the process of flashing CM kernel and flashing CM through recovery described earlier.

I'm using a Xperia Arc
Android 2.3.4
Build-nummer 4.0.1.A.0.283
I've unlocked the bootloader, and rooted the device.
Now i want to use ROM manager, but nothing seams to work,
Any one some idea on how to continue ???
I would like to be able to load custom roms
Why do u want to use ROM Manager? To take backup of ur current ROM? Rom Manager doesnt have support for SE devices yet.. So to take backup of ur current rom as well as to flash a new rom to ur device u need to do it through CWM i.e. clockworkmod... Do following steps to have CWM installed....
Note : I cant be held responsible if u brick ur phone or ur warranty gets void
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1345741&page=3
Or Use the DooMKernel (The best! )
1)Copy the custom rom zip file to ur sdcard
2)Flash DooMKernel on ur phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1172885
3) Reboot phone and go to CWM.. there u'll find the option to backup ur current rom and install new one with the help of saved rom zip file.
4)Wipe factory settings, Cache,Dalvik Cache
5) Reboot..
Enjoy..
Can you tell me where i can find instructions to do point 2) in your reply?

I have already mentioned the link.. Please check above.. Download the .img file from the link given under downloads.. I doubt if the particular kernel works for ur build but it certainly works for 0.42/.58/.62. So if u want, u can use flashtool and flashtool file to flash with particular firmware.
Once u have the .img for DooMKernel downloaded.. ->start the phone in fastboot mode, just the way u must have done while unlocking the bootloader. once u r on the fastboot mode.. type following command :
fastboot flash boot boot.img (here boot.img is the kernel filename) once it is completed, u have the DooMKernel installed. reboot the phone and open the CWM by pressing the volume button just after u see the DoomKernel image...
Press thanks if it helps u..
Is it normal that i cannot reboot and open te CWM ? it keeps rebooting to normal ...

U gotta search man... Its all there on the forum.. Anyway check below..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330314
1) Download any desired firmware i.e. .ftf file from the links given on the above page.
2)to flash any ftf u'll need the flash tool.. if u dont have it.. here is the link...
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
Download the flashtool for windows and install.
3)after installation check for the firmware folder under the flashtool main folder(where u have installed the flashtool)
4)now copy the downloaded .ftf file and paste it under the firmware folder. now 5)open the flashtool and click on flash..
6)now a popup window will come, select the first option of flash mode and click ok. the .ftf file will be listed automatically
7)dont change any settings and click ok
8) now flashtool will ask for the phone to be connected in flash mode..
9)so switch off ur phone and connect it to PC via USB by keep pressing the Back button on ur phone. Once it is connected, the flash tool will start and complete it work. after the flashing is done remove the phone and switch it on.. Click thanks if this helps u...
My arc s went into a boot loop after i replace the ICS software buttons (framework-res.apk) using root explorer and forgot to change it's permissions... =(
Is there anyway to enter recovery mode or root explorer using the pc so i can flash the zip or change the permissions there without booting the phone?
Do you have cwm installed? Are you able to access it? Just adb shell into it and chmod the file to the correct permissions, or you could just replace the original.

This thread contains the tutorial for going into CWM without installing it, and I just copy the most important part out
Copied from vaibhavknockout's thread
--------------------------------------------------
2. – Download attachments below titled recoveryARC.img and RootXperia.zip. Thanks to jlmcr87 and his post. Copy and paste the file recoveryARC.img to the fastboot folder (folder containing fastboot.exe). Also, transfer the file RootXperia.zip 'as it is' to your SD card.
3. - Open the fastboot folder. Right click on the folder background while pressing shift key on windows PC. Click "Open command window here".
4. - A black cmd window will open. Type in the following command - "fastboot.exe boot recoveryARC.img".
5. - Switch off your phone, connect to the USB cable while holding the menu button (rightmost of the three buttons on Arc). A blue led should light up (It is an indicator of entering in fastboot mode).
6. - Let the process run. Look at the cmd window. If it says the process is complete, remove the USB cable.
7. - On your phone, a menu should appear. This is Clockworkmod/ CWM recovery menu (more about this in later questions). Use volume down key to go to 'install zip from SD card' and enter by pressing camera button.

After going into CWM, flash the zip containing the framework-res.apk to reboot

try with flash tool installing the factory android, or another room that you are sure works on your phone. Maybe its a prob with the room. wiping all is the safest way but if you are sure its just the room you can uncheck the wipe data box and it will work.
hope it helps
Flash the original the factory image ftf file using flash tool. Then start all over again root, cwm, flash rom

That should only happen if your bootloader is locked and you tried flashing a custom kernel.
I would just go with pcc and "repair" the phone.

Finally have a rooted D5322 (T2 Ultra Dual).

Here is the way:
1. Activate USB debugging.
2. Flash boot.img from the link above:
Code:
flashboot flash boot.img
3. Enter recovery mode, then install UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip.
4. Flash Lollipop firmware (19.3.A.0.470) but choose kernel only to be flashed (screenshoot attached).
5. Done!
NOTE: Will be updated when I meet better internet connection. Thanks.
UPDATE (28.04.2015) : Somebody reported that /system couldn't be edited. Root explorer cant mount /system as RW.

Are you able to boot into recovery after flashing lollipop?

Thread updated, I got same problem.
If you want to edit contents of /system, install boot.img from cm-12-20150226, you still can boot to homescreen and getting full root access. But some drivers not work, so you cant change brightness, using camera, etc.
When u have finish, just flash stock kernel then every thing well work.
I'm downloading this 12 cm and I do hope it works, so do root to uninstall apps that do not use and other little things, Ro / rw is so precise WHAT ... thanks for as friend... ........ .Edit.......Then I flash this kernel, flash recovery and everything, I turn on the device, delete the apps I need to delete WHAT must install and reflash standard kernel ?? That's it?Then, after flash standard kernel I lose the option to change permissions or continue? Think back as it was right? thank you

Unsuccessfully, my d5322 not care with this kernel ...
Finally I get full root. My steps are:
1. Backup data, prepare following files:
a. Flashtool from http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
b. "PRFCreator v0.8.zip" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904
c. Dual recovery "T2U-lockeddualrecovery2.8.14-RELEASE.flashable.zip" from http://nut.xperia-files.com/
d. "BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip" from https://download.chainfire.eu/740/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
e. CM11 boot image file "boot.img" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60356750&postcount=4
f. OS 4.4.3 pre-rooted "T2 Ultra D5322.zip" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/t2-ultra/development/t2-ultra-d5303-4-4-3-pre-rooted-stock-t2962677
g. OS 5.0 ftf file "D5322_19.3.A.470_Customized IN PIEKAS.ftf" from http://forum.xda-developers.com/t2-ultra/development/5-0-2-ftf-19-3-470-d5322-t3091608
2. Use PRFCreator make flashable.zip file from OS5.0 ftf file + BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip + T2U-lockeddualrecovery2.8.14-RELEASE.flashable.zip like step 3 of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/t2-ultra/general/noobroot-lollipop-d5322-lb-ub-t3095090
3. Copy flashable.zip, T2 Ultra D5322.zip, T2U-lockeddualrecovery2.8.14-RELEASE.flashable.zip into phone
4. Flash CM11 boot.img in fastboot mode. Command: fastboot flash boot boot.img. While finish, reboot phone to recovery
5. FULL WIPE, Flash "T2 Ultra D5322.zip" and "T2U-lockeddualrecovery2.8.14-RELEASE.flashable.zip". Reboot phone normally, have rooted OS4.4.3. Can setup something and check root
6. Reboot to recovery again, flash OS5 flashable.zip file. NO WIPE
7. That's all. No issue. R/W works fine

SuperSU-v2.46.zip

Cyanogen ROM are distributed in zip format, so you have to :
- push the zip file to your sdcard
- you need a kernel with recovery (for the time being, the Philz one)
- you enter in recovery mode
- you select "install zip" and the zip file.
once it's finished, install the right kernel
for that, on your PC, extract the boot.img file from the ROM zip file and flash it with flashtool or fastboot
reboot and enjoy

I don't install cyanogen like that,
First I update my phone with EMMA with the Open devices TA
-After I open the zip of the rom and i extract it somewhere you can find it
-take the zip AND THE GAPPS and connect your phone on usb for sending the zip on THE ROOT of your sdcard
-Enter in fastboot, and open flashtool (not emma the other)
-Flash the kernel called : boot.img
-Once Flashed reboot your phone in recovery (up button when the led is purple or violet)
-The led became gold color
- You now are (normaly) in cyanogen recovery
-Wipe data/Factory reset
-Wipe Cache for avoid bugs
-Now the fun part
-Apply update select the ROM and after the GAPPS
-Reboot and enjoy !
If the screen is black for a while after boot it's normal it's the system update
I also recommand you to take the
FXP-cm-12-20150412-UNOFFICIAL-seagull.zip
file because the other in cm12.1 are bootlooping
Now you can enjoy properly without camera and 3G/4G cyanogen
Sorry for my english I'm just a 14 french kid
btw, is this for 5102 or 5103? also, what do I have to be installed on my computer so I can flash boot for fastboot?

This is for D5103 the D5102 isn't the seagull this name is ONLY for the D5103
For the manipulation you will need emma (called flashtool by sony, for updating the bootloader)
And flashtool by Androxyde (this only is for flash kernel)
:highfive: now you're ready
Enjoy cyanogen on our t3

I got bricked meanwhile. Battery problem I think, not the first time...
ok, i think there is a missunderstanding.
in order to flash the kernel, you need to be in fastboot mode (with the blue light). so, once you have installed the zip file, shut down the phone (in recovery mode, select "power options/power off" , disconnect the phone and reconnect it in fastboot (maintain the vol up before and during the USB connection ).
you can now use "flashtool" (the Androxyde's one. to avoid confusion, the Sony's one is called EMMA or if it is more easy for you fastboot.exe
to use fastboot, you open a command line (Windows+R + type "cmd") , you go to the folder where the boot.img is and you enter the comand "fastboot flash boot boot.img". after ~2s the kernel is flashed, you can disconnect the phone and restart.
the first time, the boot time is about 5 min with a black screen after the animated screen, so wait a moment.
it's for that it's very important to have a well charged phone (min 40%) because the first start use a lot of battery, and you can't see anything.
I want to restore, I just installed the zip. Why cant I enter recovery?
edit: ok, I entered cyanogen recovery. will try to boot now. but I dont have backup/restore option....
edit2: ok, It booted but I still want to know how to back to previous version...
