I use Swiftkey - (WHICH NOW HAS FLOW - THE ABILITY TO DRAG YOUR FINGER ACROSS THE SCREEN TO TYPE WORDS - ALL THE FUNCTIONALITY OF SWYPE). It's word prediction is amazing (for which it was already famous). What is your favorite keyboard and why?

poitless thread?
Why pointless? Sure, the title could be something more like "What keyboard do you use?"
Back on the topic: SwiftKey is really good, but it sucks (like most other keyboards) when it comes to other languages. For an example in Czech one word can have 10 different endings and in most cases the predictions are wrong. The predictions in English are really good though.
Edit: It's on a 50% sale atm

The new SwiftKey 4 With Flow is there best in my personal opinion!

+1 for swiftkey but i think im better off the flow function. I like to swipe left to erase my typo than holding erase button to delete word

touchpal
i still love touchpal, since my first time with a smartphone (winmobile 6.1).
i don't like word prediction, never worked for me anyway, and on these wipe-swipe-kind of keyboards,
i'll never get the hang of it.
on android touchpal i like the big keys and from the first moment i totally loved the key-swipe up/down function for special characters and big letters.
Some time ago, i was using the Smart Keyboard (with iPhone theme).
It's fast, beautiful, and with dicionary for almost all languages.
But when I left the theme "iPhone", I started to use the ‘‘stock’’ 4.2.
It's pretty, fast, and until now, no issues!

thread started on the wrong section, should be in QnA/general.
I use swiftkey and think it's great, but have to agree with CuttyCZ, predictions are much better in English than in other languages.
Note 2 Keyboard with Secondary Symbols enables is the best for me.
it makes my messaging faster than the stock.
giving my thanks to Arsaw.
Sadly am hooked on paranoidandroid, so can't use this. However am stuck with SwiftKey, which Is awesome, probably the best keyboard ever. In particular the ability to sync predictions across ddevices, that's revolutionary and for someone like me with four different devices, for work, leisure and research you can quickly realise the potential of SwiftKey.
I personally use the 4.2 keyboard with swipe.
This might be a stupid question, but are there any keyboards that make switching between languages-- or, better yet, having two languages active-- and easy task? Logically, mixing two languages in one sentence is going to confuse the predictions, but one would think it miiiiight be possible.
Swiftkey now has swype functionality included and by default...

Hello to all,
I used the latest version me HTC ime mod keyboard and with eclair works well.
Since I have installed froyo keyboard sometimes became slow to respond.the stock touch input is better as speed of touch but is very very poor of functionality!
I have the latest version of HTC ime mod keyboard, any suggestion to improve the keyboard performance?
Thanks a lot

I switched to smart keyboard, it feels more natural than HTC's keyboard and funs fine on Froyo.
Where can I find this?
Have Italian translation and numeric keypad?
Thanks again

It's on the market, and there's a downloadable Italian keypad. Dunno if it shows on your market though...It's around $2 but there's a trial version
Since I always used the phone keypad and this is my first touch phone, is better for me if keyboard has the phone keypad support
Thanks

Another vote for Swype.
So accurate it is spooky
Another vote for Swype. It even works well as a tap keyboard.
hmm... where do we get swype from? or are you guys using a rom that already has it installed?
I have tried smart keyboard but is very similar to HTC mod keyboard.is not good for me.Swype is vary very wonderful but....how I can make chars like ?!' In my phrase???
Other suggestion?
Thanks!!

Give SwiftKey a try, I prefer it to Swype. Although I believe BlindType keyboard will trump every other keyboard once it's publicly available, BTW does anyone have a leaked beta of BlindType ?
SwiftKey gets my vote! Tried most of them and found it the best.
I vote better keyboard, theres a free beta on their blogsite.
has been working pretty well for me so far
Swype here. I love it, is just amazing.

What's your opinion?
I was just messing around and tried Swype, SwiftKey, stock, and the DroidX Multitouch. I definitely have to say the DroidX Multitouch is the best for both prediction, correction, and UI.
The nicest thing about the DroidX keyboard is that the multitouch prediction works on the hardware keyboard as well (good or bad thing).
Easily Swype FTW
I am trying out the multitouch keyboard right now and all i have to say that on the epic its epic. Its insanely fast. I like swype for when im driving since i can use 1 finger but for pure speed the droid x keyboard wins hands down.

where can you get a working HTC evo keyboard with arrows? I can't find one.
My favorite is Smart Keyboard Pro & Droid X keyboard. Both keyboards have built in multitouch. Smart keyboard pro is more customizable and looks better in my opinion.
Texting speed record was smashed with swype. It is by far the fastest keyboard you can get on a touchscreen phone.
Droid x for me

i used to use swiftkey because it had a lot of features most notably was the sms reader, it would scan your sms and "learn" commonly used words. worked witht he hw keyboard too, but i find myself using the sw one more often and im trying out thickbuttons right now
I would have said swype before i read this post.. but after reading this i downloaded the droid x keyboard and thats by far my favorite.. it actually makes me want to use teh screen instead of the physical keyboard

Another vote for Smart Keyboard Pro. Many options, languages, multitouch, several skins....
Tried it against HTC-IME v27 (nexus forum) which is also great, but SKP seemed a bit better...less errors IMO
So far I like Swiftkey. I didn't really want to learn Swype. I like the way Swiftkey learns to use autocorrect better. I was pretty impressed that I can send a lot of texts by typing ONE letter and then using the suggestions to complete the message.
I like ultra keyboard the best so far. It's well worth the dough. It's highly configurable. It has a swype method that I use in xt9 that's awesome!

Coming from the blackberry after 7 years, I was skeptical about onscreen in general. But, I was impressed with the evo after 2 weeks of predictive typing.
However, swype on epic is so effortless at times.
Overall I am more productive and efficient over the blackberry I feel.
I will try the droid x keyboard now...

Hey guys,
Just trying to get a few opinions on what you think is the best keyboard for the HTC One X. I just purchased Swift 3 keyboard and I think it's definitely worth it.
Much better than the original keyboard for sure. I really like the samsung galaxy nexus stock android keyboard that it comes with.
By the way jelly bean 4.1.1 is awesome!

SwiftKey is superb, they isn't a better keyboard out there.
Swiftkey 3 hands down :good::highfive:
Better than the stock android keyboard that is on the galaxy nexus though? With jelly bean it's pretty hard to beat I think.

Happy with the HTC stock
Using SwiftKey and loving it
From my ONE X in your face!
Swiftkey 3
I used the SwiftKey Trial till it got over. Amazing keyboard, definitely worth the price.
Now I'm using Swype Beta and it kicks ass! Its so easy to type/swype words xD
Must say that after using SwiftKey 3 keyboard for only half an hour it seems like it is probably the best there is.
The predictive text is actually quite amazing if you ask me!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Another thing is, keyboard prediction RIM was showing off with its BB10 keyboard is already there on android with SwiftKey! The prediction is brilliant!
A.I. type keyboard. Brilliant! Best predictive text I've seen. A one touch £ if set to UK english, top row that can be hidden with a swipe for numbers and symbols, a drag handle to change the height at will, cut/copy/paste/select on long press of C and numerous themes. I can't fault it!
SwiftKey still the best.

I use hackers keyboard , will try swift keyboard in future
Swiftkey, ive had it since it was in beta stage and bought it immediately
Since I don't use text prediction / auto correction, I am satisfied with the stock AOSP ICS keyboard. Love the way it looks and I can type really fast on it without any prediction.
swiftkey 3 by far!
Swipe style typing is horrible & predictive text is poor to say the least. Anyone have better experience ?
Second that. It is complete crap. Realized that pretty quickly. Installed Swype beta the day after I got the phone and haven't looked back.

SwiftKey 3. Get it
The only, albeit strange, reasons that keep me using the samsung keyboard over swype is the haptic feedback and the typing sounds. The haptic feel of the swype keyboard doesn't feel as precise as the sammy one no matter what i set the length to. And don't get me started on the irritating key press sound...
Jelly Bean keyboard port FTW!
Jelly Bean keyboard is the best keyboard I've ever used, Swiftkey and Swype included.

I use SwiftKey 3.01. Customizable in skins, portrait/landscape keyboard height, typing style, and keyboard layout. It also supports the use of up to three languages and their keyboards/dictionaries at once, learns from Facebook/Twitter/Gmail/RSS/Reader/SMS messages, and it is scarily accurate in predictions.

+1!!!
I gave up on Swype when Dragon took over the speech recognition instead of passing it to Google (which is loads better than any other dictation.) I tried SwiftKey for a long time to give the prediction time to learn about my style but I never ended up liking it as much as Swype. Then I tried the stock ICS keyboard and was very impressed. I could type super fast (faster than I could Swype) without paying close attention with great results and the post-typing word correction tools worked really well for when my typing was so bad that the keyboard couldn't figure me out. The JB keyboard continues to improve the stock ICS keyboard experience.

Hi,
thanks. Works fine except it's really heavy : 60MB !!!!
Hence why I stopped using it, in comparison the android 4.2 keyboard is using 7mb of ram on my device lol
Un install after try out for 5min, still lots to improve compare Swype Beta (I mean the flow input)
But I seldom use Swype as I prefer SwiftKey keyboard layout.
Setting back to released SwiftKey now.

Love this keyboard, although is there any way the continuous input can be used in apps such as Chrome or the default Samsung browser? That and even predictive text (mainly what I got this app for) don't seem to be working in every single app.
