What's wrong with Sandisk? I use a Sandisk Ultra 32 GB class 10.. Works great?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium

You will soon find out after you fill the card around 18 gb... the card keeps dismounting and remounting. .."sd card damaged" messages and then ultimately the card dies. ..
Happens on s3 and note 2.
So if you have 32gb SanDisk ultra sdhc cards... don't fill it beyond 16gb...
Unfortunately it is true

If this is true, then I am in for a surprise as I have filled around 15GB

In France Amazon stopped selling sandisk cards, they're investigating as many users report the death of the card after 3-4 month of use.
It may just be some defect cards behind other good ones, but if I were you I'd by a Samsung.
I bought a sandisk 64 Go SDXC a month ago, it's working fine for now but there's one thing I'm sure : I won't put important files on it without a backup somewhere else ...

I have a SanDisk 64 c10 with 22 gig of mp3's, 15 gig of movies and a few hundred photos and it's been working fine for months.

I am using Samsung 64GB Pro UHS-I on my N7105
The read speed is excellent
But the write speed won't be much difference than other Class 10 or Sandisk UHS-I
The write speed is a little bit faster than my old Lexar Class 10 32GB
Write:
Samsung 9.7MB/s VS Lexar 6-7MB/s
The read speed is A LOT faster.
Read:
samsung 64GB 58MB/s VS Lexar 10MB/s
This test , my Samsung 64GB is at 70% capacity used(mainly MP3s and apple lossless files)
It would be even faster if the used capacity is lower.
So the verdict is, if you really NEED this fast, like faster media scanning.
Then pay a little more get the fastest card available.
If you don't, any Class 10 cards would be fine.

Eh, take the bad reviews with a large grain of salt. I have just under 30 gigs used of my 64 gig Sandisk card and it's working just fine.
I say buy whatever is priced right for you. If it fails, send it back.
Not very hard at all.

Yeah I am using this one, It's really fast! and no problems so far.
a little bit pricier though.
I bought mine in Hong Kong for USD 76
While Sandisk 64GB UHS-I is around USD53 in here.

i have 32 gb scan disk .kingmax 4 class. no problem at all almost 6 months

Note 2 is not released 6 months back. ..how come you are using the card for 6 months on note 2?
Remember I am not saying San disk has bad cards. .. the Combo of s3 or note 2 with ultra sdhc 32gb SanDisk cards alone have this problem

could you tell me what Micro sd card you guys are using,I am fixing to buy one and want to make sure I get the right one,,will this one work

the micro sd xc is what I am looking at,I appreciate your help thanks
I have a Sandisk class 10 64GB works great
get the fastest and highest capacity your money can buy, on the Note 2 64gb is the limit of external memory.
Im using the 64GB class 10 and its working great. There is an extreme pro available but only comes up to 16GB which is a shame considering transfer speeds are 3 times that of the class 10 one.

you know, they with the older phones they always listed 32GB as the maximum, but when 64 came out it worked on many of them. I would bet money that when the 128GB cards hit they will still work with this phone.

ok guys im about to order me a memory card. Do you guys think the 64gb is overkill? Second Question..is there a big differencein the class 6 and class 10 cards?

For day to day use, you will see no difference on Class 6 or 10 ... if you plan to copy/move large files or music files on a regular basis, then maybe a little ... Will definitely not affect any performance like Camera app, etc.
And I still prefer 32GB Class 10 for now.

there's no such thing as too large of a mem card,
if u have the money then go for the 64gb C10
Does the Note come with a card already installed? I just ordered this morning but have 32Gb SanDisk. I was going to get 64Gb SanDisk and leave 32Gb in my Motorola Photon. If Note comes with card already installed, if lesser I will put that in Photon and sell it

hi,
no,i got my note 2 out of box with no sd card.Had to use my own.
good luck
Class 6 and Class 10 write speed in Note 2 won't be a big difference.
I found Note 2's external memory controller write speed capped at around 10-11MB/s
But for read speed, it will be a BIG difference.
I am using Samsung 64GB UHS-I Pro micro SD.
Having like 55MB+/sec read speed.
with my old Lexar 32GB Class 10 only got 13MB/s read speed.
So, if you concern of read speed, get fastest card you can afford.
if your main concern is write speed, get a class 6 or class 10 would be fine.
And don't get SanDisk ultra. it's known to have problem with Note 2.

I bought mine in Hong Kong for USD 95.
It's expensive yeah but it's the fastest 64GB micro SD you can buy.
It's good for you that you don't have problem with SanDisk Ultra but you can search for Note 2 + SanDisk Ultra.
It has a known problem, after awhile of use or the disk capacity reached certain amount.
Sometimes it will unmount the card or even damage the files in the card.
You can only re format the disk to solve the problem.
MANY people reported this problem. I don't know maybe trigger rate is not 100% but still not recommended.
Darkinners, thanks for your responds and suggestions (which I took and did a search, then some research!)
1. All of these complaints on SanDisk were about the 32Gb Card, not the 64Gb card. All the 64Gb comments were good.
2. The people with issues (both 64Gb and 32Gb) had formatted the card at exFAT, not SDXC. Mathamatically, I can pretty much figure out a.) why it will not write files over 4Gb and b.) why the 64Gb exFAT crashes after it fills over 16Gb! (Think about it, SIII is desinged to read/store 32Gb, not 64Gb even though it will format exFAT. And as for the kid whos computer would not read the 64Gb exFAT, i bet he has 32-bit machine?
3. All complaints were from Europe and blamed on a bad batch of cards (it happens). The one happy individual I saw got his card from Amazon, which is a ligit website. Just because the card says SanDisk, does not mean it actually SanDisk. Cheap forgien vendors use this lable to make them look legit?
4. The card you mentioned and the SanDisk are priced about the same, $59.99USD. I will get SanDisk and format either in phone or my laptop as SDXC and play for awhile. If it piss me off, I will return it!
Again, thanks for your input and suggestions!

What 64bit SD card do you recommend?

I am in the midst of buying one and was curious which ones you guys are using, and confirmed are working on our Note, thanks.:good:

Samsung 64GB Class 10 Micro SD SDXC UHS-1 Grade 1 Pro Memory Card 70MB/s.
Expensive but worth every single cent.
The 64GB UHS-1 from Samsung is the best memory card I have every had.
Greetings from Germany
I purchased a Sandisk Ultra Class 10 on Amazon. It works great - no problems at all.
(seems I'm a "can't post links yet" noob still) The item number is B007WTAJTO
I would recommend purchasing from a reputable vendor, as in "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com". I had a Amazon seller send me a Class 2 unbranded card with a SD reader when I ordered a Class 4 Sandisk card with microSD reader. Very annoying and I suspect intentional.
Ernthelfer, have you done any speed testing on your Samsung card?
Thanks for the suggestions fellas appreciate that. :good:
I also have the Sandisk 64GB. I'm wondering HOW to test the speed and for bad blocks using my unrooted GN 10.1.(Can't use my PC for testing.)

Has anyone with an unrooted GN 10.1 had any luck with these apps? Thanks.

32 GB Sandisk micro sd ultra 1 question

So I've been reading on these forums that the 32 gig causes the unexpectedly removed and remount error. I had one and it started to do that with my new note 2. I sent it for replacement and while I wait I wanna know if its a problem with the phone? Or the sd card? Should I try a different format if it does it with this new card?

I planned to take this one from deal extreme, free shipping but if I could have problem then I couldn't change it.
Mine has been working fine since I got it in early december
Do I have to format this card? I read somewhere that guy formated card with some program in fat32. After that formating card was working good.
Buy the Samsung 32gb microSD card Class 10. You won't regret it. Almost half of the Sandisk 32gb microSD's cards (UHS-variant) are either malfunctioning and simply defective out of the box. You can refer to Amazon if it helps you decide. Cheers
My 64gb u1 works fine.
Just buy from a place with a good return policy

I'm coming to believe it's an issue with the Sandisk 32 uhs-1 card!
I even formatted it as fat32 but the problem is getting worse.
So I sent in my card and had it replaced (amazon) and it's been working fine.

My Sandisk 32g card also got fried, and I'm trying to recover data as we speak. I bought a Samsung and its nice and smooth with no problem.

Does Note 3 kills SD Cards like Note 2 ?

Hi guys I was wondering if the Note 3 had a problem that I had in my phone. I had a few SanDisk SD cards in the past and for some reason my Note 2 always ended up killing them. It killed 2 32GB cards that I had in it. After, some time I would start getting errors about the card being unexpectedly removed and the PC couldn’t see the card or the data on it. I wanted to know if anyone has had any issues with the Note 3 as It seems from the research I did it seems to be an Issue between Samsung phones and SanDisk cards. Also I forgot to mention I used both cards in previous phones before the note 2 specifically an HTC Evo 3d and an LG Esteem.
I’m asking because I saw there having a sale on Ultra SD cards for SanDisk on Amazon but I don’t want to spend the money if the cards will be destroyed I as looking at the Class 10 Ultra 32Gb cards.
So far the best cards I have had luck with are Class 4 PNY cards but I was really looking for cards that would give me more speed. The Note didn't kill a 8GB PNY or a 32GB one yet, so it seems this might be a SanDisk problem.
Any Thoughts ?
I used a 32GB SanDisk Ultra for about five months of moderate to heavy use before it had problems. I reformatted the file system, restored a backup, and moved it to a secondary device and it seems to be fine. The replacement in my primary device is a 32GB PNY and I don't think I've had any problems with any PNY cards over the last several years. Both devices are Note 3s.

Oh wow I just saw they make class 10 cards now. I will get that then. I'm just to paranoid about Sandisk now.

I've been using a 64 gb sandisk mSD...in the note 3 for about a month now and in my ancient r800x for over a year before i got my note 3....havent had any issues even at near full capacity (only have 5 gbs left lol)
I have filled up my 64gb from SanDisk in my note 2 for a year and half, then got this phone on launch still pretty much full lol.
And while it was on my note 2 I was running the script to make my internal storage as the external SD card.

Being full isn't the problem -- it's the number of writes that could cause problems. Some manufactures have more errors than others.
