[Q] Quick Controls in 4.2.2 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Is everybody using a 4.2 rom experiencing this bug with quick controls on stock browser? I'd perfer not to disable app accessibility as a fix to this bug.
code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39811
I'm trying to make the switch to 4.2, but I am a frequent user of quick controls and light flow which requires accessibility to function properly.

Bump!

[Q] Volume toggle on lockscreen

Hi all,
I have a HTC Desire Z running Audacity Beta 4 (+++)
As far as I can tell, there's no way of configuring a volume toggle in the lockscreen unlike previous ROMs which had this by default. I've seen posts in the Audacity development thread (pages 409-) describing how to add the camera to the lockscreen, however I want to reverse this and re-enable a mute/sound toggle on the lockscreen. I've been into the system->settings->lockscreen but that offers no volume toggle options under apps or activities.
I'm currently working around this by using "Mute" but this seems to be an ugly fix to what seems to be a missing system option.
Does anyone have any better solution or ideas?
Thanks in advance

Well, since you can't disable access to the notification bar, you can use the toggle there.
I just looked into this myself and you're right. I did find a workaround though. If you have Tasker you can make a task that switches toggle states and then bind that task to a lockscreen slot with Task Cut (selectable on the first page).
Granted that won't update your icon, but it's something.
As mentioned above though, you can also toggle it from the power widget in the notification drawer.

Thanks for the responses. As Tasker isn't free I'll stick with the "Mute" app and add that to the lockscreen for now.
The whole point of this was so that I don't have to unlock on the way in/out of appointments etc... I can just wake the screen and swipe left to mute/unmute the phone. Granted it's not a huge amount of effort to unlock and use the power widget in the notifications screen, but it is an extra step and we're all about efficiency (or idleness!)
It just seems odd to me that this should be something that's inbuilt on the lockscreen, but I guess the developers take a different view nowadays. (It would be nice to have options for both camera and mute in the lockscreen options)
I'd like to have a go at creating an app to do this for myself.
Can anyone recommend any threads on how to start development - I'm reasonably ok with programming though I'll freely admit that java's object orientation will be a bit of a learning curve. I'm hoping that this will be a relatively simple task - All I want to do is to mute/unmute from the lockscreen without changing anything else...
I've found these bits of code to play with:
http://stackoverflow.com/a/7318028
http://stackoverflow.com/a/10921268
but where do I start in trying to create an app around this and packaging it? adb? Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm looking for an "android how to write apps" or something like that...
Thanks in advance
[edit] - found the android developers pages now and am starting "my first app" - If anyone has any hints and tips though, they'd still be appreciated. Thanks

[Q] How to activate PIE CONTROL ?

Hy everyone,
I Just flashed the New CarbonRom for my GNex and in the screenshots, PIE is available but i don't seem to find how to activate it.
PS : when i'm on expended desktop, Pie controls are not available so it might be a toggle issue and if so, i don't know where to toggle it on.
Many thanks !
I'm not sure about your ROM but on the PA ROM you have to enable it in settings then and only then when you enter the expanded desktop mode can you use the PIE controls.

I dunno about that ROM, but I know you can get PIE on any ROM via LMT Launcher. It's not a full launcher, you still use Nova or whatever else people use, it just adds PIE. I'm using LMT with expanded desktop enabled on CM10.1M1 for my soft keys, and SmartStatusbar+ and NotifierPro Plus for the notification bar.
LMT is good too
Yeah I know about LMT but it's an extra App. I think this rom has the pie controls already like posted in their thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136851) but can't find the Toggle
If you find something, let me know and until then Many thanks !

I use AOSPA and their Pie, so I don't know that I can be of much assistance. However, I do have a suggestion for you to try. First, which keyboard are you using, and does this problem occur with other keyboards? This is a stretch, but maybe (a) If you are running stock keyboard, it is a system app, and it may be overriding the Pie app's frontal priority (for lack of a better way to say it), or (b) If you are running a third-party keyboard, maybe it is overriding the Pie app's frontal priority because the Pie app was designed to appear on top of the stock keyboard, and the developer wasn't able to design it to appear over (all or some) third-party keyboards.
This is definitely a long shot, but as an avid Android user with basically no knowledge of coding, I typically approach problems like this in a trial-and-error manner. I have major doubts that this will be of any help, but you could at least experiment with other keyboard+Pie combinations to see if it is that simple while you wait on someone with real knowledge to come in and help. Good luck!
This sounds like a q n a type of thread. Maybe email the developer behind the app? May I make a suggestion? If you like pie, why not download a rom with it? For the most part, pie hasmost if not all bugs worked out.
im using stock keyboard & the 2st thing i did was contacted the dev about my issue.
ive trial & errored alot of different ways to get around it.. seems the only thing i can do is disable the correction bar that gives me enough space to show the 1st correction suggestion.
Easy fix. Download lmt launcher and there is a setting in there that makes the keyboard a priority so the pie controls will go behind the keyboard. Like this picture.

It's under keyboard state listener >then hit enable.

[Q] Disable MultiWindow?

How do I disable MultiWindow on the SG3? It is causing me all kinds of problems as I find I can not exit programs and such as the long back key has been replaced with launching it or closing it so the app will not close. This feature is just a royal pain in the ass! Couldn't Samsung determine a better way to turn it on and off than using a critical key as back?

Not sure what rom your on, But on mine I can go to setting, display, And there is a on/off switch for it. I'm on SS Odexed Blue.
On MD4 you have a toggle for it.
You can use the Multi Window toggle in Quick Settings.

Disable priority notification from lollipop?

I upgraded to the OTA lollipop update for my m8. Everything feels fast and smooth but what is up with the notifications from hell? The notification preview that drops down from the top bar (I believe lollipop calls them priority notifications) is convenient during regular use of the phone but is annoying as hell when I'm playing a full screen game or watching a movie. I can't find any settings to configure this feature. I don't want to disable all notifications for the messaging apps, I just want to either disable the feature or disable it when a specific app is running. I think we're missing the options for priority notifications that stock lollipop comes with. Anyone know?
I don't see the notifications that come from the top. U use gpe?
