Hi.
Let's try to port a Cyanogenmod 9 for our tab while Motafoca do other things?
Well, I did a boot.img compatible with ICS.
Download there:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B05nAw_Xwk31VS1fbGJtazJSZ09VRks3SmpQdHRhUQ
Link for the tutorial:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/7577-ics-porting-guide-by-siulmagic/
I think that the best ROM for port is the Defy, because have the same chipset and use gingerbread kernel.
Link for download the ROM:
http://tanguy.forumdoandroid.com/ics/CM9-ICS-MR0-111213-jordan.zip
Actually, I got just status 0 (I think that is something about update-binary) but let's try!
Any news or something like this, I'll post here and a thread that I create on MADTeam forum.
Looked at something like this but there is a lot more needed to get v this working on our puppies and is not for the novice to try
Biggest issues is porting drivers and recompiling everything so no small task

^that was true until recently, last time i talked with motofoca, he said he has a p1010 now as is working on getting cm9 to boot on it, idk about the status but since he has the tab now, he's working on it

Yes, that was my first impression, when I saw CNA was back. Uncertain about the whole situation this dev had with his kang bash. But it's up to you whether to support the Dev or not? Or I think its only up to those who got the harm from any previous actions, and only them shall accept the apology. Or we can just use the ROM and move on with the old story? It's 50/50 opinion. Feel free to state

His thread got closed right after the first day, and then got reopen. anyway now that I know, think it has to do with the old story. And a thead by him is not even present on XDA yet.

It may not be possible but I cannot question that. Anyway like said above, I'm in for trying new things too.
Bump means or basically is letting people get aware of this topic by bumping it to the front/top. Its fine to do once every couple hours or so many over day by one person. Although if others help bump it makes it equally easier.

I love keyboards and thus I support this. Samsung really integrates their stuff together like Sense... so I don't think its as easy as ripping the apk. Typically with past HTC IME keyboards had to be flashed through recovery to include all the proper files and placement.

I've been looking everywhere for an S3 keyboard port. Was hoping it was in the S3 Touchwiz addon pack, but see barely any mention of it.
I love the "handwrite" feature built in .. whether I'd use it or not
Madphone, the maker of the S3 addon port would probably be the best candidate to ask about this-- if he reads this or if anyone wants to hit him up.
There was actually a huge improvement from the SII & SIII keyboards.
I am an avid swype user but Samsung has integrated a swype like function into the keyboard. Also the handwrite feature is something I'd like to have.
Thanks for the input everyone. Hopefully we can keep this near the top and get this going!

you think it would need a rom bas like cm10 or slim bean i mean i know its not gonna be a full port but a skin on the rom which is i think as close as it gets
Personally, I dont like TouchWiz. But if you are running CM10 or some other custom ROM, I'm sure you can get a TouchWiz feel with launchers, themes and keyboards. Im sure there are TouchWiz apps around too if you search for them. Thats probably the closest you'll get

You don't need to replace the boot image. All the Gnex variations use the same kernel.
Unless you compiled your own kernel?
Either way, I might be in on dev for this, downloading the Premier kernel source now, will see what I can't replace with gnex stuff (driver wise), the phones are pretty similar.

According to a*Samsung*insider, the OEM is currently making plans to upgrade certain devices to the upcoming Android 5.0 operating system. From what was reported, it looks like the Galaxy S3 and*Galaxy S4*can expect to see it, as well as the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Galaxy Note 8.0. Android 5.0, which is rumored to be named*Key Lime Pie, should be unveiled at this year’s*Google I/O*event in May.*As for which*current*older devices are getting the bump up to Android 4.2.2, the list is pretty impressive. There is the Galaxy S3 mini, the Galaxy S2 and most of its variants, the OG Galaxy Note, and a ton of other non-top tier devices. It’s nice to hear about OEM’s staying on top of the ball when it comes to updates to Android.
