so when you reboot your device it goes back to downloading mode directly???
becasue when i try same thing like you .. my phone was rebooting but it got stuck on the Samsung Logo.
what i know is ... you can you Volume up + home button+on.off button to go to recovery mode
so when you press all 3 together and see Samsung Galaxy on device .. release them... and it will go to recovery mode...
for me it works like that.
i am newbie to Android... so i am telling you this from my personal information.
give it a try if you feel like
thanks

Well you can only get into download mode. So you need to install a custom recovery using odine. CWM is short for clockwork mod recovery. Find a how to and install cwm using odine.
Another custom recovery is TWRP. I like using TWRP. Has a nice touch interface.

If you have a computer download a Rom of your liking then install meaning find the file on your sd card then flash it? I recommend something close to the stock Rom then try new ones btw make a back up of your stock rom!!!!!! P.s. Look at YouTube for tutorials on how to?

To be more clear.
You said you can't boot into recovery. You can only boot into download mode. What download mode means is that you have to install cwm from a computer using odine. You connect your phone to a computer using a USB cable. Boot your phone into download mode. Open odine on your PC select the cwm odine file and push it to your phone. Disconnect your phone from your pc. Then you can put a ROM on your exSDcard and boot into recover and install the ROM.
Do a search on xda on how to install cwm using odine. I'm not going to write how to do it here cause you can search and do it your self. Good luck

Go get the drivers on the samsung website.
I used the ToolKit for the S3 to install the drivers and you don't need to have your phone plugged in to install them. Here is the link to the ToolKit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665.
Are you able to get your phone in download mode at all?
Belive me, I tried all kinds of methods to install the drivers and it's failing to install them. The drivers just don't want to be installed so I can't transfer the rom into the sd card and since I deleted the mediaprovider.apk, I can't download stuff either.

Yes. But their are several options to re root and install cwm. I personally use twrp but the toolbox is the easiest method in my opinion to do it all for you.
Toolkit- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665
TWRP- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1793224
Edit: if you have a backup saved onto your SD card then you should be able to restore it once you get cwm on. Your backups from cwm will not work in twrp however unless you move them to the correct folder. Sdcard\twrp\BACKUPS.

how would i put that on my sd card tho?
Take your sd card out and put it in a micro SD to SD adapter if your computer has a SD slot. B. Use another phone and put your SD card in that. C. Rule of thumb always make backup and if you did just go to restore and restore your saved ROM. D. Use Odin and restore that way YouTube a Qbking video about flashing threw Odin.

What is the version of CWM you are using?
Have you tried flashing a new or different recovery, like TWRP maybe?
What is the exact process you are using when the installation fails?
Go here and download TWRP 2.4.4.0 & CWM Touch 6.0.2.8 - place them on your external sd card via the above described method/s then try flashing the CWM recovery and then rebooting to recovery. Now try flashing a Stock ROM (make sure you're checking the MD5 to verify a good download) if that doesn't work then try the TWRP recovery, etc...

Try holding Volume Down, home, and the Power buttons. This will get you into download mode. Then Odin a stock TAR file using a method displayed in QBKing77's videos. Search around, you'll find something. If you're still unable to find anything after a while, give me about an hour and I'll help. Good luck!

It does not. it will reboot once after it tries to boot in download mode, the goes into normal boot. Does cwm have a download mode? i can get into CWM recovery, so if CWM doesent have a download mode i think that would explain it. how would i finish the root if it didnt fully root?
If you can get CWM recovery, just flash the SuperSU package. You can find the thread with a quick search, but the files are available through my Sig. Or you could flash any of our roms as they already have root.
That is odd though...

Hello everybody im not to sure what happened. Ill say everything from the beginning. I have a gt n7100 and i was rooted. I had twrp 2.5. I was on 4.1.2 and flashed via recovery DN3 rom. I was happy that it worked but there was a problem with wifi. So i tried to flash the wifi fix via odin. And heres what i did. We are not specific and are not spoon feeding you because this not done that way. You HAVE to spend time and learn what is what. The answers you need and the help you need are already here. If you're expecting download links and screenshots you shouldn't be modifying your phone. The whole point of this community is to learn and share the knowledge - not spoon feed.
Go to the TWRP thread, read up and download the tar that you need to flash through odin. Look for the MJ5 bootloader (hint: look up Wanam's ROM thread, that's one of the many places). After you got these two, boot to TWRP and flash the ROM.
Finally, as long as your phone gets into download mode, it's not bricked. And you got to do something incredibly foolish to make it not boot into bootloader. That said, it would be prudent to learn and act rather than blindly execute what you read - I said the same thing in not so many words in my reply to you in the DN3 ROM thread.

My note 2 is blocking the cyanogenmod installer. It says unartherized access to a secured area on your phone without authorization has been blocked.
I'm stumped just got this phone and it is a pain to root

Do this
1. Boot into download/bootloader mode.
2. Connect to pc and use odin to flash twrp. Make sure you uncheck reboot and flash twrp in the pda slot.
3. Once flashed pull battery and disconnect from pc.
4. Press vol+ menu power buttons while inserting battery (yes it is difficult but can be done)
5. Now in recovery perform factory reset.
6. Flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36388145
7. Now reboot it will act/look weird but dont worry this is normal. It will reboot and take a long time to boot.
Now you are on stock mc2 (no knox anymore). Root using cf autoroot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33278464
Now use odin once again and flash your recovery again. Now you are rooted and have a custom recovery. Oh and you have a working phone again.

Before I do all of that...I discovered I can boot into TWRP and updated it to the newest version. Then I installed the cyanogen nightly onto the phone. Everything seemed to be working ok except I couldn't get any phone signal but wifi worked. I tried loading the dirty unicornes rom and the same thing happened . I then flashed cm 10.1 and the phone worked for calls but the asop keyboard kept crashing and couldn't login to the wifi network. I tried several installs with factory resets with the same results. If I follow the directions you listed will I be able to install these roms and the phone work for calls or am I missing another piece of the puzzle?

Look for it in the development thread. The op will have a link. Use 6.07.9 version and make sure it has a zip extension not md5.
