Help. I am completely frustrated.
My tmobile touch pro 2 all of a sudden can not receive any text messages. When I switch out my sim card to another phone it gets texts immediately so there is nothing wrong there.
I've already tried resetting the phone many times and even left the battery out before doing so. When I send a text message to my own phone number from the phone I get a text back from the system administrator stating that the message was not delivered and that I should check the address and try again.
I've used other phones and texting services to try to send myself texts but nothing comes through. Is there anything else I can do?
Glad to see I was not the only one having this problem. I had to call customer service and they sent me a new phone.

Did you recently install any new apps? I had that problem at one time, and realized that it was the app that i downloaded that caused my text messages not to work. the app that casued the error for me was True Caller. Once i uninstalled the app and soft reseted my phone, the text messages worked perfectly again.
I hope this helps.
Is anyone else noticing the following with sending/receiving MMS messages?
*NOTE* The do work fine.
Ok, when I SEND a MMS, the data indicator disappears when it sends (the H, E or G icon), but it sends correctly. Just weird, does that happen for anyone else?
Second, after someone receives/read the picture I sent, I get a weird message in return that has "+xxxxxxxxxxx/[email protected] / /" as the body (where the xx's are numbers). That's all the message contains. My settings are the exact same as they were on my slide and I never had messages like that.
Lastly, on the G2, when I get a MMS, I always have to hit the "download" button to get the content. Is this how the g2 is?
Like I said, everything works, just with that strange behavior, and I wanted to see if anyone else experiences the same stuff.
It happens with or without using handcent.
OH, BTW, has anyone experienced the g2 wiping out all messages for no apparent reason? I was txting last night and in the middle of a conversation, ALL my txts (to every contact that had messages) got wiped. No prompts, no crashes. All there one minute, all gone the next.
I'm on most recent firmware and most recent CM10.1 nightly and suddenly MMS pics will no longer send. It tries to send but then fails with messages "message not sent" and "service not activated on network"
This has never happened before and happened all the sudden yesterday. I had sent one pic that did work, then a few minutes later I tried another and it failed in this manner, as have all further attempts. I even deleted all of my sms/mms messages thinking there was something wrong with the messaging program. No help. What it APPEARS is happening is that instead of the program sizing the images down to an attachment-friendly size, it is trying to send the full ~2MB jpegs and it would seem that is too big for MMS. But if this is the case, I have no idea why it would have started doing this all the sudden.
Is there anything in the messaging or gallery programs that I can reset or refresh that might help this?
Thanks

If you can send a SMS (simple text message) then all you need to do is have your provider take you out, and then reinsert you into the network. SOMETIMES, sending a picture to yourself after a battery removal boot can get things going too.....
You also could try the basic and use app manager and clean out the cache of whatever app you're using to send the MMS msg, and retry it. Remember, the MMS takes a while longer to send vice the SMS transmission.
Good Luck!
Ever since I have had this LG G3, it seems for no reason at all, at times, it will sit there and spin saying "sending" when I send a text. Happens sometimes when sending email as well using LG's built-in email. Tried rebooting, turning on or off wifi, have a good LTE connection at the time, but no dice. Just sits and spins saying sending. And usually eventually fails sending. Other times it sends immediately. I never know if I hit send if the SMS is going to be sent or not. It's quite frustrating. My wife and I are on the same provider (Rogers) and when this happens with my phone, I grab her Note 4, try sending out a text and boom, instantly sent.
I'm running stock 5.0.1. Two mods, CTT and Trickster. I have checked APN's and they are identical to my wife's Note 4.
Does anyone have any idea what else I could try to make the SMS and email sending more reliable?
Another strange thing. The stock messaging app doesn't show any messages. I have deleted them all. I installed Textra to see if sending messages was any better and there are about 10 voice mail message texts sitting in there. These are the notification I get when I get a voice mail. I had called Rogers before and asked if I could turn these redundant text messages off and they said I didn't have that option set on my account?? Not sure where they are coming from then. I do get the voice mail icon notification as well when I get a voice mail.
I deleted all of the messages, closed Textra and reopened, only to find all the texts had returned. WTF? I deleted them again, same thing. Tried cleaning cache and data for both the stock messaging app as well as Textra, same problem. Perhaps these messages are interfering some how with sending/receiving texts? I changed my phone number on this phone recently as I was getting a bunch of non-wanted calls and thus all these voice mails. Could these be left over from the previous number? Not sure why I can't delete them permanently. Man, what a pain.
I've been losing some SMS messages. I reboot, and messages start coming in again, but one I missed seem to be lost forever. It works for a while, then stops again in a day or two. This is using Google messenger on a Moto Z Play Droid on Verizon.
I had serious issues with Google messenger a while back and ended up switching to pulse. G Messenger kept saying message not sent, but people were sometimes getting them, and sometimes not. A quick Google search will show that Google's messenger has issues, and sometimes clearing messages, cache, or uninstallation with reinstallation will remedy the issue.
