Enable Call Recording on SGH-i317m - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

ANYONE!! HOW DO YOU ENABLE CALL RECORDING ON SGH-i317m? This is a Canadian Note 2, rooted stock ROM running 4.1.2 Thanks to MrAnderson. Need to enable built in call recording capability for board meetings, etc...
Please dont make silly suggestions such as try an app, or recommend flashing a patch for a different OS. Thank You.

[Q] Does true 2WCR (2-Way Call Recording) work on this phone?

If you came here to troll my question about the legality of call recording feel free to use your back button and leave. Just picked this phone up for a friend and I would like to enable true 2WCR on this phone to use skvalex's callrecorder. Currently works fine for the evo3D but I don't know if this phone is even supported and if it is working or not. Looking for best quality possible would like to use skvalexs program only but if that doesn't work would be open to others. Would like feedback from people that use call recording would also like bluetooth support.
Go to ROMs you can try Blazer or FreeGS3. Call recording is a flashable mod.
I use it when I call any customer support.
let's go to the next level... BRICK IT!!!

Thanks I'll check it out. Do you know if a 3rd party app will work with it? Doing a quick search looks like that mod might be built into the rom with it's own software for recording.
Don't know about 3rd parties apps.

[Q] Manually enabling 2-way call recording

Hello everyone. I have a Galaxy S3 AT&T Jelly bean 4.1.1. on the stock kernel that is rooted. Is there a way to manually enable call recording from a build.prop editor app? If so what do i need to edit? Is there any stock kernels I can use or any kernels at all I can install without having to install a different rom?
I have already created a back up. Thanks in advance

I don't think there is. Call recording is illegal in too many places so I doubt we will see it for a little bit still.
Feel free to prove me wrong though.

1) how are they gonna know you've got 2 way call recording? Unless your dumb enough to tell them 2) there were kernels and roms that were ics that had 2 way call recording enabled. And there are guides around that show how to get that going
Sent from the scary door.....

You are required to tell them and if you dont and they find out they can have you brought up on charges and arrested. Most of the guides came from the Euro version as it is not as illegal over there like it is in the states where you will never find a stock kernel with it enabled. Even google disables it by default on AOSP source code.

[Q] Call Recording on N7105

Hello everyone, I've looked high and low for a call recording mod tested on the N7105 model as I'm thinking of buying it. I know it already exists on the N7100 but wasn't sure about this one because I haven't found anyone that has tested it on the stock rom. I'm not interested in custom roms.
Here is the thread that I found
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1944795&highlight=n7105
It says Call Recording on any stock but it was in the original galaxy note 2 forum.
I'm wanting to use this so I can auto call record with
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder&hl=en (as I already own it)
or support for any other free ones, for example:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cri.sanity
Thank you very much for your time
option 1 will work
go with xposed framwork + tweak.
It should work on any ICS/JB

In Call Recording Working on our T-Mobile S4

I'm posting this thread to let others know a way they can get the in call recording feature working on the T-Mobile S4 (M919)
If others know alternative ways to get this feature fully functional on our S4, please feel free to post them here. The more options the better!
But please test prior to posting.
As a note, I'm just linking to the ROM, kernel and optional call recording app already available from their appropriate Developers, which enables call recording on our S4. Thank you to all for making this possible!
I wanted to have a central thread where others can come and get in call recording working, without having to search all over.
I've always used CallRecorder by skvalex on my previous devices.
But when I got the S4, CallRecorder didn't work with the stock ROM due to Samsung, and neither did any of the other call recording apps available. I know because I tried several (I'm talking about recording phone calls via the phone line, both sides, without having to record through the speakerphone,) so I asked around, did some research, and saw that wanam has a ROM with native built in call recording, which is important to so many S4 owners. Thank you to wanam! His work has enabled other call recording apps to also work which I've listed below,
There may be other ROMs with this capability, but this is the one I know of.
I will explain the set up I have, and post links to the appropriate threads including some notes.
If there are any specific questions regarding the ROM, kernel and app links, please ask those questions in their appropriate threads, as that will keep everything centralized in the Developer's threads. And please don't forget to Thank these Developers for all their hard work.
Any questions regarding my set up, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you to the following Developers
My set up:
WanamLite ROM by wanam:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283194
* the above ROM is for the I9505 , which can be installed on the M919.
You MUST use a Modem specific for the M919. DON'T flash any non specific ROM. When you install the ROM your existing Modem Will remain on your device.
You MUST use a Kernel specific for the M919.
This ROM has native in call recording capability built in. It works really well, and records through the phone line, both sides, clear as a bell.
Infamous S4 kernel by Jamison904:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2264932
* I flashed the above kernel, as it is working really nicely with our S4. There are other specific M919 kernels you can flash as well.
CallRecorder app by skvalex:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643
* I linked to CallRecorder by skvalex for those who have used it before on their other devices, and for those who would like another 'in call' recording option.
The recording settings I use with CallRecorder are:
Recording:
General >
Device - Other (Samsung GT-I9500 Galaxy S lV works also)
Method >
Recording method - Standard API
Standard API >
Call recording format - WAV
Other >
Audio source - Voice call uplink + downlink
The above information may work on other devices. But I have only tested the above on my device:
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 M919
This might help you out I just posted it for you T-Mobile users

Thanks for your post.
Update:
I just looked at your link again and see that enabling call recording on the M919 has not been confirmed yet.
As you mentioned in your thread, flash at your own risk, but I just wanted to let others know this.
If call recording capability is confirmed, would flashing your linked zip on M919s with any deodexed (or odexed with a modification) roms enable CallRecorder by skvalex to work, which works on ROMs that have call recording capability enabled?
I have posed this question to skvalex so we'll see what he says.
Considering that your Verizon call recording zip has been confirmed working, I am also wondering if CallRecorder by skvalex would work on the Verizon S4?

This does work on Touchwiz based roms I have posted confirmation in his original post. I was having low audio on the MIC side but a restart fixed that.
---------- Post added at 11:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:24 PM ----------
This does work on Wicked V4,
Record button shows up on call screen.
Add Call can be accessed via the phones menu button.
Recordings are save in /sdcard/Sounds folder
Recorded Volume of other party is fantastic (actually a little loud)
Recorded Mic volume is low (almost cant here what you are saying to the other party)
Kodos to the OP for getting it to work.
God Bless
For clarification, recordered mic volume is working fine after you did a restart?
So the zip for the M919 enables call recording capability to work without issues?

YES, now it is fine, I don't know if it was just that particular call that was placed on the wicked V4, I restarted after I placed my first call on wicked, after the restart MIC volume was fine.
Yes the zip enables call recording without an issues (so far)
Any touchwiz based rom you install will most likely be deodexed and this should work fine on it. I would however relocate the record button to the phones menu list instead of it being on-screen. I wouldn't use recording much and would rather have the add call button on-screen.
Also if the recording button was placed in the menu list, you could use Call Recorder (which I can confirm also works in conjunction with his mod) and set it to automatic recording will maintaining the stock on-screen items.
Jrkruse already has several versions for the verizon model that have the record button via menu or on screen, he also has them for odexed roms, hopefully he will do the same for tmobile based roms.
God Bless
This sounds like really good news.. Thanks for the update, and good to hear that with the flashed zip by jrkruse on a deodexed rom, people will have the option to enable call recording, and to install CallRecorder if they would like, as you have confirmed that app to be working.

I agree, both the built-in (flashable SecPhone.apk) and CallRecorder by SkValex from the appstore work with each other but like I mentioned I personally think the Record button would be better if it was accessible via the phones menu button, but thats just my opinion.
I made sure i thanked the OP as this is great news, it basically means that we dont have to use a 9505 rom, which in turn means we get to keep wifi calling.
God Bless.
