[q] asdk 4.2.2 rc1 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Okay, so, I'm running ASD's Slimstar 2.2 on my T989 Hercules, and I was awaiting RC1 of Ayysir's latest 4.2.2 ASDK.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111871
[edit] This is the first time I've ever tried to flash a kernel, so I do not necessarily know wtf I'm doing. [/edit]
I downloaded RC1 Fixer and dirty flashed the kernel using Cyandelta, but got stuck in bootloop. So then I went back to TWRP and clean flashed SS2.2 and then flashed RC1 Fixer again. Still got stuck in bootloop. Am I making a mistake? Is this ASDK not compatible with SS?
I would ask this there, but I'm not allowed to post in developer's yet.

ok

Not sure if you got this sorted out yet, but if not, slimstar 2.2 is based on android 4.1.2, whereas the ASDK kernel you are flashing is 4.2.2. So they aren't compatible.
Try flashing his latest 4.1.2 kernel instead from the same thread
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111871):

MIUI ROM issues

Upon finally achieving s-off on my phone, one of the ROMs I've wanted to run was tge MIUI. well it worked on the first try after rooting but boot looped when i had to reboot it. Reflashed it again and it happened again. Can anyone help?
Sent from my rooted incredible 2
Which version of MIUI is it?
I just had this same problem with ICS] Unofficial Multilang MIUI4 - v 2.12.21 Rom
I realized that i was still using the way outdated radio which my phone bootlooped as soon as MIUI tried to load it.
alot of these newer ICS/JB roms require you to update to the new ICS radio 1.09.01.0320
I installed the new radio and it works great! I can reboot all i want.
I used this one on Team venoms Roms thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953899
here is another place to get it with inctructions on how to install it

hope this helps
Thanks! I'll be trying this soon

[Q] Wrong forum thread sorry

Sorry I didn't see I was in a wrong forum

Hello guys. I flashed hyperdroid 7 androidmeda then been with it for a year till I decided to flashed to Cyanogenmod 10.2 yesterday but some problem popped up. My GS2 can't find any signal, IMEI disappeared from "About phone". I tried many ways to solve it but all had failed so I flashed again with 4.0.4 base rom (I9100DXLPF - Thailand) successfully and planning to flash it to ERobot version 24(android 4.0.4) since it's quite popular in my country and that leads to my question
1. Since I flashed 4.0.4 base rom does that mean my device got unrooted?
2. If it's unrooted then should i flash Siyah kernel 5.0.1 to get it root again?
3. Does Siyah kernel already has CWM? or do I have to flash CWM in later?
4. In the case that ERobot rom can't function like I expect it to and I might want to go back to hyperdroid 7 which has android version 2.3.6 can I just use "install zip from SDCard in CWM" because at the time I should have CWM in already and with Siyah kernel.
Thank you in advance

[Q] Arc S, Upgrading to besttt, Slim-Bean 4.0 version.

Hi all. since I'm pretty new I'm not yet able to post in the development forum. My question is fairly straightforward.
I have rooted, installed custom roms/kernels on my SE Arc S for a while now, but every time by following either a youtube tutorial or a nice instruction sequence.
Curently I am running Slim-Bean 4.0 (by XtremeSilencer), I used the installation procedure from the original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1959054
I installed the Fusion Kernel provided in the description and everything got set up smooth. What I want to do now is upgrade to @besttt Slim-Bean based ROM, which fixes some bugs. his post is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45710450&postcount=2992
The Instructions are a bit confusing, since apparently I need to be running CM10.1 and I only know that CM10.1 means (Cyanogen mod 10.1) and that Slim Bean runs some sort of version? of it, but I couldn't find anywhere on my phone a clue about which version Im currently running with Slim Bean. As I said all I did was installing the base version 4.0 of Slim Bean by XtremeSilencer like the instructions on the main page taught me.
What procedures would I need to do to upgrade from the "Stock" Slim Bean 4.0 with the Fusion Kernel 4.5 (About Phone says its: 2.6.32.60-FusioN [email protected]) #PREEPT Fri Feb 22 23:49:51) to the Besttt custom SlimBean kernel?
1. Flash which Kernel via fastboot?
2. Wipe data/catche/etc
3. Install which ROM (zip)? - If I'm correct, Anzu mean Rom for Arc S ??
thanks a lot,
~Skaveelicious
Mate, as you said you are already on @besttt slim. But now you want to Upgrade. As in the guide stated. For that you must have latest slim rom by besttt, you can find that from his signature @besttt)
Install the kernel he said in that update.
Install slim bean 8.1 non stop gaming edition, its latest version of slim rom.
Then install the home and wifi fix.
Then gapps.
Then boot to main screen, then install wifi modules for that kernel.
You will get latest update for the slim rom.
Remember, official is better than update, as besttt said. There are some bugs.

1. Kernel seems to be inside the zip like it says in the thread: "use kernel,, only incide my rom zip"
2. Yes data, cache, dalvik, system I think, if it says "full" wipe
3. Anzu = Arc S, and don't forget the gapps.

Inside the .zip there is an .img file. So basically what I need to do is extract the .img from the zip and:
1. flash the Kernel DarkAnzu Kernel via flashtool.
2. Wipe system/cache/dalvik cache
3. install de .zip via CWM
4. Install GAPPS via CWM
Well, the Kernel is the img inside the zip, no idea if it's the DarAnzu Kernel, but just flash the img inside the zip via fastboot in flashtool and then do the other steps.
I flashed it and it went perfectly. Now understand how this kernel+rom update works. Cheers and thank you all

[Q] Proper steps to getting back to stock kernel

Hey guys. So, I've been reading and reading and flashing and everything.
Got an S4. It was running 4.3 and I was having Wifi issues.
I had read it was a software issue and welp, I've always liked Cyanogen Mod so I installed that.
It installed the nightly build which was WAY too buggy (I use my camera a lot and it kept failing) edit: but the WiFi worked perfectly!
I got back to 4.2.2 now but now the WiFi is Totally not working now and i'm getting that message about
Kernel is not Seandroid enforcing
set warranty bit : kernel
and it takes forever to reboot.
Since I was on 4.3 do i need to flash that stock rom to get my stock kernel back?
Or can I install deoxed version??
I still need to put custom recovery too!
I know this is a lot of questions and i'm not much of a n00b.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you are using any Cyanogen/AOSP/AOKP/GE/KiKat roms then please ignore the following.
If you are using a M919 Tmobile Samsung S4 Jellybean Touchwiz 4.2.2 based rom then here is
the way to fix your wifi issue.
Here is the download link for Ktoonsez's custom kernel:
http://ktoonsez.jonathanjsimon.com/sgs4/TW/KT-SGS4-JB4.2-TW-TMO-12.12.2013.zip
Download it and flash it using cwm/twrp recovery and the wifi will work for you again.
Good luck!
I'm running the stock rom but it seems like somehow it didn't overwrite the Cyanogen kernel.

That means that this kernel is for you..... "IF you are really running the stock rom".
If your rom was REALLY stock, I mean if you "ODIN" flashed the stock rom using the
official Samsung M919 4.2.2 Jellybean Touchwiz firmware from http://SamMobile.com
or other sources then whatever kernel you had the stock rom would have over-written it.
If you are sure that it's not over written that means that you have NOT ODIN flashed the
official 4.2.2 M919 MDL firmware.
Good luck!

[Q] which rom. help please

I have a rooted n5110 4.2.2 note 8.0
first of all I'm not a noob. However I have been spoiled. Up till nowi have had Motorola decices that have great apps like rom manager and team black hat leaks to help you decide what roms to flash.
I'm at a loss when it comes to all the options in this forum. I see some roms based on 4.2.2; 4.3 and isn't CM 11.0 based on 4.4? If I flash a 4.3 rom and dont like it cani flash a 4.2 rom or restore a backup to get 4.2.2 back? That was a big no no wirh moto devices. Once you upgraded you had to stay less you got a hold of the spf file.
Ive looked into both PAC rom and CM rom: the stable and nightly versions of both. I know nightlies may be unstable so I would stay away from them less it is easy to flash back to a 4.2.2 stable release. And downloaded the right gapps package. Why cant developers just included that in the roms?
So a bit of help please. What are the differences between the 4.2.2; 4.3 and is CM 11 based on 4.0?
I also use twrp as a recovery but have used cwm in the past. I habe both onmy sdcard in case of trouble.
any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Come on....anybody?
