Smile [Q] Xperia Play firmware problem
It is because your bootloader is unlocked! It will only recognize locked bootloader and even if it did it would not let you update. You need to relock your bootloader if you want to use that.:good:
xperia play
i installed custom rom gingerbread now it can connect to pc companion and flashtoll thnx by the way !!!

Hi,
i have Xperia ARC phone with:
1. bootloader unlocked
2. blendmiui v09 kernel.
3. [ROM] Avicho MIUI For Arc [2.1.13] installed
The phone is working well but can i use PC companion to restore the phone to the latest ROM available for ARC ?
Thanx
You can't upgrade/restore the rom from se pcc if your bootloader is unlocked...
If you want to return to stock rom , just flash the ftf files found in the forum with flashtool..
You can also relock the bootloader and then update the firmware from pcc.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
so if i relock the bootloader, can still i use my phone with the MIUI rom that is allready installed ?
can i use this to relock the bootloader?

Hey guys, I have a question.
Right now I'm running stock Gingerbread on my Arc S, with unlocked bootloader ( I tried a lot of ROMS ) and of course root access
If I wanna upgrade to ICS, may I do it the " proper way " via Sony Companion? Or do I risk bricks and stuff? I know I can flash a .ftf but that way I'm gonna lose everything and I have to start all over, and I did that so many times switching roms that I'd really like to avoid it if I can
So, with unlocked bootloader and root access may I use the official upgrade from Sony or I'm gonna brick everything?
Thanks in advance
Sony companion doesn't work. You should use flashtool.
Sent from my Arc S
Relock bootloder and then flash gb rom with flashtool then try pc campanion
If you are rooted on GB and then try to update with PC companion the ICS will unstable... j tryed and many programs crashed.... so bacup your data with titanium backoup and flash ICS .ftf with flashtool that is the best way..
Hit thanks if this post usefull for you !!!!
thank you guys, that's what I thought, now it is confirmed
why when i downloaded flashtool it has the file 'X10_V1_BLRelock' what is this used for, is it safe to flash with this file in firmwire?
edit:- wouldnt even start flashing without it
It's to lock the bootloader of an Xperia X10 device i believe,
So I wouldn't try it with an Xperia play
Sent from my R800i
no problem, will delete it
which clockworkmod works for locked bootloader?
Download x-parts in google play, there you can easily install cwm and it works for locked bootloader

If you have cwm installed you can download a rom put it on your sd card and install via cwm.
