Thought I would post here in effort to get faster responses.
Hi all, I was on AKOP's milestone ROM before trying to flash their newest one. I did not do anything to the kernel or anything by the way.
I'm using ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.2.7 and I rebooted into recovery and flashed super dark side wipe and then JB-MR1 and then gapps.
I went through the entire start up process with inputting your information and then finally I got into the actual home screen. I clicked around to see how the UI looked and then decided to reboot through the menu.
It was in the rebooting animation icon for at least 30 min before I decided to pull the battery. I want to wipe and start again but my cwm recovery isn't installing anything.
The phone still works as I can boot into the phone and use it. I'm trying to reboot now: power button hold>reboot, but its taking ages. Pretty much phone is "functional" but any method of trying to reboot or reboot into recovery fails
Thanks all!

hi all, my wife has been running cm6.1 and lately it has had a few issues, so i go to download through rom manager, it fails downloading several times, download on a computer and transfer it over, boot into recovery through rom manager(i feel retarded for this one... no back up, didnt wipe) and install, well, it goes to the cm boot animation, sits for a long time, then i remember i didnt wipe so i attempt to get back into recovery and wipe, well, some how, the phone managed to go back to the stock recovery... needless to say i became very very confused...
does anyone have any insight?
thanks in advance
If you havent s-off, then you probably will see stock recovery and need to flash the update.zip to get to clockworkmod. I think i remember that right.

i finally did get cm 7 up and running, and in rom manager it says that i have the latest availible clockwork recovery, but i can only get to it if i rebot to recovery through rom manager, if i go through the boot loader, it takes me to the black screen with the ! in the triangle, then after several button pushes takes me to stock recovery
This happens because ROM Manager reads the altered 'update.zip' from your SD card and it is recommended you use that program (app) to do all your loading and ROM stuff. Though if your phone is powered off you can hold Volume Down and power then after getting to the Triangle "!" screen pressing volume up and power gets you to altered 'update' screen.
I was on my phone, checking XDA, reading news and so forth. I put the phone down to grab some dinner. When I got back after eating I picked up my phone and it was unresponsive.
I held down the power button for a while and nothing.
I did a battery pull and I was able to boot to the Google splash screen with the unlock symbol. Unfortunately it just hung there.
I pulled the battery again, this time I booted in fastboot, then recovery. The clockworkmod recovery main menu came up in recovery, but when trying to do a restore or anything… The blue menu would disappear and not come back. I can get to recovery, but I am unable to do anything with it.
Last night I flashed to AOKP B26 from AOKP B25. I wiped cache and dalvik. I did not do a full wipe, but according to the dev you do not need to. This morning I flashed Morphic’s kernel TNP138-RD-FUV. I used this kernel on B25 with no issues for several days as well. I wiped cache and dalvik before flashing the kernel as well. CPU was set to the default 1190 and default voltages, with the on demand governor.
It is weird that I didn’t have any issues until hours later and the phone wasn’t even in use. It is as if it wiped itself. I am wondering how and why.
At this point I am going to do a full factory ODIN restore. I don’t think there are any other options.
EDIT, as posted below:
I was getting ready to do the ODIN restore when for the heck of it I decided to let it boot normally one last time. What do I have to lose.
I booted to the Google splash screen and set it down. I got a drink and took out the trash. When I came back I noticed it was at the boot animation! It sat at the boot animation for another couple of minutes but 10 minutes after pressing the power button I was booted up.
I let it sit for another 10 before I played with it. But now its like nothing ever happened. And it boots regularly now. I even booted into recovery and it is functioning as normal.
Any ideas what happened?

In cwm is there a 'go back' option at the bottom? If not scroll up and down a few times passing from bottom to top (looping) until it says like back button activated. If back is not active power button makes screen go off and on and does not select.
This is if you are not using touch enabled cwm.

if you can get into cwm then try fastboot and flash the factory images from the boot screen

I am not using the touch enabled. I know that if you cycle through the menu too much it will disable the select button, but if you keep cycling it will enable it. This isn't that.
The screen is on, I can see the clockworkmod recovery & version in the middle of the screen. Just the ICS blue menu disappears completely. no go back or anything. just a black screen with the clockworkmod info in the middle. It is as if its thinking but it just hangs.
id suggest you try to use ADB from recovery to try and at least pull the sdcard files first of all
second id try to flash another recovery from fastboot then boot to recovery and flash a rom or restore backup
if the above doesnt work then factory image from fastboot is it

So here is a little back history.
I just recently purchased a GNexus from Sprint
Unlocking Bootloader and flashing Twrp went Great.
Backing up original stock rom went great!
My First Issue
My problem started when I flashed a JB rom. I notice that the phone was taking extremely long to boat up. Stuck at JB Boot Screen for about 45mins. I immediately thought that okay. .maybe im missing some type of requirement or twrp needs to be updated. So I battery pulled my phone.Attempted to go back into recovery and restore my old stock backup. WIth that being said i found that TWRP is corrupted. I did another battery pull and tried once more (same results)
I did another battery pull and booted to the bootloader when I selected recovery this time a screen popped up that allowed you to a factory reset (It was not the original TWRP Screen) My idiotic mistake was that I choose yes which then deleted my nand backup. As you now see I have a nexus that does not have a rom installed
I have been able to successfully adb push twrp back to my phone and TWRP comes up when I boot into recovery.
Here comes my second issue.
When I adb push a rom to the sdcard it transfer fine. I have been told to reboot recovery when you adb push a file to it. Therefore I reboot the phone and boot back into recovery to find out that the rom is gone. I have even tried to just directly flash the rom when I transfer the rom to the phone via adb push. TWRP states that the rom installed successfully so i reboot and the phone is still at a softbrick stage where I just have the google logo and the unlock bootloader at the bottom. When I boot back into recovery the rom.zip is no where to be found.
I have tried recovering by using ODIN and successfully followed each step for the GNEXUS CDMA\LTE version. Once again upon reboot I still receive the google bootloop of death.
Can anyone help me get my phone back to normal I will truly appreciate. I don't believe I truly bricked my phone because of that fact that I can still boot into bootloader, recovery and ODIN mode.
Specs of my phone: (From Bootloader Screen)
Product Name - tuna
Variant - toro 23GB
HW Version - 14
Bootloader Version - PRIMELD02
Baseband Version - L700.FD02 CDMA - L700.FD02
Carrier info - None
Serial Number - (Do I have to list this?)
Signing - Production
Lock State - Unlock
Once again any help is truly appreciated. I only had this phone for one day.. lol only made 2 calls on it before I screwed it up  (On stock rom)
After you ODIN stock it will bootloop. You don't have a custom recovery anymore, but if you remove the battery and then do "powers and both volume keys and select recovery" In recovery you will see a android with a red X. Press "power and both volume keys again" This time you have android system recovery that's in blue. Choose "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition" . Then "reboot system now" after all that's done. You phone will boot up to factory in 3-5 min.
Reread everything you said... First thing first get back on stock. I used Odin method. Then follow steps above as it will bootloop.

ok, i will try this.
Thanks
After trying what you stated above i was able to successfully return to stock.
Thanks again for your help.. It's funny how something so small can lead to hours of debugging and searching for the answers.
Hey look on the bright side....you won't make the same mistake again!
I made the mistake of flashing the Touch CWM last week and accidentally wiped my SD instead of System as I was trying to flash a new rom with a full wipe....I wasn't impressed!
So now I'm back to the non touch screen recovery which I'm used to and harder to make a mistake on.

I am rooted with a 16gb GSIII, I flashed the Blazer ROM (version 2.0) a couple of days ago after I got my gsIII. It ran fine and I had no issues with it. Today I tried flashing a new kernel from AGAT that I had read in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956392 was supported on the Blazer ROM in hope to allow me to overclock my device.
I made a nandroid back up first BUT didn't wipe anything foolishly and now everytime I boot my phone the samsung logo pops up followed by a banner saying AGAT. Every time I try to reboot into download or recovery (each time holding the down or up volume button along with the power button for 5-10 seconds) it just restarts that boot cycle.
Since my device turns on still is it only soft-bricked or is it technically full bricked since I can't get into cwm recovery or download mode? Any suggestions for what I should do?
No expert on this but try pulling out the battery and then go into recovery.

When holding vol up to get into the recovery, you need to release all the buttons to get into recovery. Do a cache wipe, then flash the kernel again. If you continue to get a bootloop, it may be a bad kernel.
Hello all, as the title states. my Note 2 is stuck in a bootloop. Originally I had the Liquid smooth ROM flashed, I have been running this ROM for several months with no issue. Yesterday I tried to flash the Blissstalk ROM using the usual method: TWRP 2.8.5 > Full wipe > Flash Blissstalk > Wipe dalvik/cache again > Reboot system. Phone loaded up fine went through setup and installing apps fine. I put my phone on charge last night and woke up this morning to it stuck on the Bliss bootscreen. I pulled the battery and tried to boot to recovery (Vol up + home + power) instead of loading recovery my phone went straight to the bootscreen. Tried 3 more times and then 3 times to get it to boot to Odin. Nothing happens other than it goes straight to the bootscreen and gets stuck. Not sure what to do now and looking for a way to, if nothing else, return it to stock so I can start fresh.
Did you try the 3 button combo with no battery and then install the battery with the 3 buttons still pushed? It may sound crazy, and it's tricky too, but I'm hoping that you haven't tried that as to it may be the fix you're looking for.
Make sure you press the vol up+power+home key and keep it pressed until you see the Samsung logo appear. Your switch might be a but loose
