Above is a link to jase33's MMS thread, there you will find his flashable Zip files. After flashing you'll have uncompressed MMS!
Before flashing a standard screen shot of your About phone will be around 50 KB
After flashing a standard screen shot of your About phone will be around 150 KB
Corrected the link.

Ok i have a sprint d710 that was flashed to pp. its not rooted but i did swap it from ics to the 4.1.2 jelly bean or ga10. the place that flashed it has a mms apk they provide that i can get mms on but its a crap interface and slow. my question is is there anyway to view whats in the apk file to possibly yank the settings and put them in manually through the dialer ##data# function. I can link the address to the apk if anyone wants it didn't know if the that would be a t&c violation so I opted not to for the time being.
note....i no little to none about rooting and all this stuff this is my first android so please bear with me.
So going on the basis that every phone is different I've been struggling with this issue and I'm tired of using my work around, and I need someone's help.
Every ROM I flash (AOSP only) when I send someone a picture message it arrives on their end "blank" Now when I say blank, it is marked as 1kb and the preview in the MMS is a white box. If they save the attachment it is fine and as intended in the gallery...
After flashing every AOSP ROM with the same results I assumed it was my phone and nothing I can do about it.
UNTIL I flashed JusTun Bean's inverted gapps package and VOILA! It worked just fine... and I have no idea why...
Whenever I flash a new ROM I now put the inverted MMS in the system/app folder and install it until I flash another ROM.
So what I need is if anyone has ANY ideas or is able to view the two MMS.apk files and see if there is a difference that stands out I'd be super grateful.
The AOKPMms.apk is the JusTun Bean's Inverted that works.
The AOSPAMms.apk is the ParanoidAndroid Mms that I'm using right now that doesn't work.
Hello everyone,
I just quit iPhone dev and geek to Android world and enjoying the Nightly CM 11 very much so far !
Only one thing I can't go through : MMS doesn't work on this ROM (and seems to on others like Slim or Bam).
I think it must be about the size limit of each MMS, assuming for my career it's 300ko but not sure (I'm on Free Mobile, french career).
When I use other apps with limit control and put it on 300ko, works well (chomp or textra for instance)
But the thing is I tried to change the MMS config in MMS.apk on CM 11 just to see if it works (decomp the apk, modified limit to 300ko and compiled back). Seems to not work....
Does anyone got an idea to solve it ? Maybe someone should advise CM 11 dev to add an option line in MMS preferences to offer the choice to user to limit MMS size (as other apps do).
For info : i9195, CWM recovery, 1/6/14 Nightly build
Regards to all
MMS does not work at all? or only sometimes?
Have you tried a file under 300k?
APN settings?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has the solution to fix the mms appearing in slideshow format when multiple photos are received. I have the Hellkat 4.4 ROM on Tmobile S3. Evertime I get mulitple pictures it puts it in slideshow format where I cannot zoom or save the pictures. I see some solutions for the older ROM where one has to edit the xml file under the system/csc folder, however the folder does not exist for this ROM. Any help will be appreciated.
There's a patched MMS APK posted on these forums. Look in the Slim Rom Thread
In the past I used Konabess Overclocking tool and tinkered with my SD870.
After uninstalling and reverting back to a backup image, I found that images on my manga reader were really low res. Digging through my phone, I found that my Xdpi and Ydpi were changed which incorrectly scales images on apps.
Any ideas on how to change those cause I got no lead
I think it can be done by editing the build.prop file. I did a quick google search and someone added the following lines in the file to change dpi:
ro.sf.lcd_density.xdpi=153
ro.sf.lcd_density.ydpi=153
Note that these are custom values which that person was using and not default ones.

(flashable zip released) Set device screen resolution via build.prop
If anyone is interested. I made a mod for cm11 that allows you to set the x and y DPI and set your device screen resolution via build.prop. I initially did this mod on the galaxy player. I can port it over to the tab 2 if anyone is interested...

Thanks for the tip.
I didn't use this exact fix but I flashed the whole ROM again and that fixed it for me.
The flash didn't work the last time around but it did this time.
I guess I should stay clear of Konabess for now
