Hi so I deleted the blob folder a while back and I was wondering if backups will still work with cwm. Thanks in advance

You can make more backups, but you can't restore any old backups that might still be showing up in CWM.

Trying to free up some space on my external card and realizing I have no idea what folder the backups are stored in, running clockworkmod based recover v5.5.0.4
never mind, found it, but for some reason every time i back it up, the date is all wrong, just backed up and it is 1970-01-04.06.58.12?
In had this same question, where did you find it?

Check clockwork folder and inside there should be a folder that says backup

Backups on this phone will always have the incorrect date. The recoveries do do not have access to the time.

That's weird, I made a backup with CWM before switching to TWRP and there's nothing in that folder.
Another question, where are the backups stored from TWRP? I can see them while in recovery, but not in any file explorer.

So I've been reading that people are having issues with flashing a ROM using TWRP.
They factory reset, wipe etc and when they go to flash...nothing there to flash? How can this be avoided?
I have ZV8 rooted and unlocked with free gee from the app store.
As I understand they factory reset, wipe dalvik, cache...but where are they saving the ROM to flash it? But at the same time I've seen others succeed. I'm not trying to screw up here and being patient....

I don't have issues flashing twrp. I usually download the zip on my laptop and then connect my phone via USB storage to transfer the zip. Then I go to recovery and find /data/media and its there.

So you save it under the media dir.?

Ya that's where it ended up when I dumped the zip from laptop to phone. If u did what I did it should be there unless u saved it some place else.

And it won't erase after factory reset and wipes? Hmm I will try. Thnx

Factory wipe will only delete apps and settings. Any pics or video taken should still be there and stuff u download.

If I flash a aosp rom or non touchwiz will anything get screwed up if I restore a backup or go back to a touchwiz rom?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
You are ok with backup
The only issue after backup is that everything will end up in a folder named 0 inside SD cards. All sorts of critical stuff inside like S Notes, etc..
If you go back to 4.1 after CM10.1, then flash the restore-sdcard-after-downgrade.zip to get everything back in place. The file can be found in the OP below.

I was using odin to flash cwm in order to root my s3 and instead of clicking pda I clicked bootloader and flashed it. Phone still works but in recovery it cannot mount the sdcard int or ext to root. How can I flash back to stock bootloader? I rooted before but by accident and in a rush I clicked bootloader and not pda. Please help thanks

Is it the recovery.img or recovery.tar file I need to flash under bootloader?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Can I just flash stock rom via odin? Someone surely knows the answer.

Freezas stock rooted thread, just adb sideload the md4firmware.zip file and flash.
I can't find a thread with that subject. Any link? Thanks

Solved. Thanks for the help

So what did u do to fix it
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
There apparently was some sort of update by sprint that kept cwm recovery from mounting sdcard and internal memory. There is a fixed recovery method on xda somewhere that allowes access so I then flashed the stock rom

I have done bricking my phone similarly a couple of times but ODIN saved me. I had to install the stock recovery and stock ROM a couple of time repeatedly to get it back to working state. Then, installed the CWM recovery and rooted the phone.
Cwm only worked once for me. Next time I went to used it it would say could not mount sd card or even the int. After reading on here there was a post about it and someone modified it so it would mount and could be used. Saved my ass lol
