Hello I wanted to ask if its possible if someone could port one rom from galaxy s
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
I don't think so it will be possible because galaxy S is an armv7 processor phone and has greater processor speed(1ghz) while Galaxy gio has an armv6 processor and has lower processor speed(800mhz).

Everything in Android (Linux) is possible. The only thing that make different, is the difficulty!
Try porting by GSII by yourself, using Dsixda's kitchen! Here you are: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246

arnv7 to armv6 needs smali editing, and not with a builded GUI like kitchen. and resizing cuz s2 is HDPI and gio MDPI.

That depends. It's the devs interest. Basically it's made mostly for higher end phones, so I don't think this one can get that thing, but if it gets it would be awesome. It was the best rom on my s2
according to xda our device is in "Legacy & Low Activity Devices" criteria
so it could no be possible......until until cm9 fully out
by cm9 our dev's can do the same
..........so patient.......................
Our is screen is not capable for paranoid rom needs big screen

Galaxy Mini has Paranoid Android
Ya though mini may hv, it cannot be ported to sgy
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda app-developers app
it depends on the specs not only the screen.. what's the use of big screen but low ram? higher version of Android OS needs more ram to make it smooth and stable without any lags.. expect the cm7 soon it will be fully fixed, just trust the dev.
Sent from my Android System using Busybox Command.
First let relase fully fixed cm7 for our device, then others will be released also.. I trust on our devs..
Can someone please port the full Touchwiz 4 framework to the galaxy ace.
I've noticed some other threads, but the Launcher is not fully complete.
If someone could port the full framework and especially how the add to home screen appears.
Please.
Thanks.
Muhaha i am working o. Getting it as close as possible

Note- Remember that frameworks change could set some factory settings (for me, it only set default background).
You can even use new drivers without framework fix, but it's seems to be slower.
Guys pls try them and report:thumbup::thumbup:

Roms like 2.6.7 gingerbread on which cyanogenmod 7.2 is based on.....use hardware support i.e. GPU to render graphics. Acei and galaxy y have 2.6.6 which uses software to render graphics. If we get the sources , we can use the gpu which was locked because of the lack of the availability of these sources. Once the sources are out it will help in running cyanogen smoothly and help in correcting the bugs we are facing now. Hope you got the point!?!?

Port JellyBean Rom from Galaxy Ace II GT-i8160
EDIT: Official Development Thread Now Open:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38911651
I opened this thread hoping that some dev would be interested in porting this rom to our Wonder.
Do i think it could be done? I'm not sure that's why i'm asking.
Do i think it's possible? Of course! that's why i opened this thread.
We have a working, super smooth, fantastic CM10 already, why want this?
Of course i love CM10, Arco's latest update Alpha 6 is super smooth. I'm using it right now. But i'm just thinking of the benefits if somebody would be able to port this rom. This is a stock Samsung rom, meaning we can have a fully working:
1) Original Samsung Camera 2) Original Samsung FM Radio
Perhaps there are some other things, but these 2 are worth mentioning.
Here's a comparison with our phone and why i think it's possible to port this rom:
Code:
SGW i8150 SGA 2 i8160
cpu 1.4 Ghz 800Mhz dual core
ram 512 Mb 768 Mb
internal 4 Gb (2 Gb rom) 4 Gb
display 480x800 480x800
Click here for a detailed comparison
Of course there are some challenges, big challenge i guess:
1. The chipsets are different, SGW is using a Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon, while SGA II uses NovaThor U8500
2. The GPU's are also different. SGW: Adreno 205 SGA II: Mali-400
Here's the link to the thread hosting the official JellyBean update for the Samsung Galaxy Ace II
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139206
But hey! who knows what our great devs here can do with it.
So, let's pray that someone would be interested and take the challenge.
OFFICIAL JELLYBEAN 4.1.2 UPDATE FOR ACE 2 HAS BEEN RELEASED FOR EUROPE USERS. LINK BELOW:

Hope we'll have a good developer to do that
It's going to be great if we get this ROM. I guess it's needed to change drivers only, but if it's only that, I still don't know how hard it is.
For the chipset and related drivers i think that we can use Arco68's JB 3.0.XX Kernel

A total NO! Since Ace 2 is ARMV7 and has Dual-Core 800Mhz processor with different display and so on. While Gio is ARMV6 And has single core 800 Mhz processor! If it was even possible it would take a lot of time to make it boot fix big issues!
Can be possible but requires an hard smali work to complete this
Ok thanks guys! Well I guess that I'll just buy a Ace 2, because I don't really think that someone will make this
