help with CM9 install on xperia play r800x - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI
Im trying to flash cm9 on xperia play r800x with unlocked bootloader. after i flash the kernel i boot into to recovery using fastboot boot recoveryPLAY.img cmd to access CWM to install the cm9 zip. as i click on the zip file i get a error message E:Error in /sdcard.cm-9-20130120-nightly-zeusc.zip (status 7) installation aborted". I was curious to see if there was a problem with my phone so i tried flashing the UK rom wich i flashed it successfully. I even downloaded a new cm9 file but i still got the same result.

Read the op again.

Can you be more specific. I. Formated the sd card and tried flashing the rom again but I got the same message.

Did you flash the zesusc zip in CWM? Make sure your on official 2.3.4 firmware and flash cm9 kernel before going into cwm.

I'm on the official 2.3.4 firmware and I flashe the img file froma the cm9 folder then went into recovery. I don't underatand what you mean by putting thezesusc.zip file in the cwm.

Make sure your boot loader is unlocked
Use cm 9.1 from here get.cm.com Zeusc 9.1
Copy boot image from Zeusc file zip and place on your PC. Connect phone turn on mass storage mode and put the intact cm9.1Zeusc zip on SD along with a copy of google apps signed for ics 4.04 on sdcard
Turn phone off then hold search button while you plug the USB light should appear blue
Flash the boot.IMG file using flashtool. Selct kernel to flash via fast boot.
Once done unplug phone the turn on.
Clockwork mod is on the boot.IMG file use cwm not to install the zip.
Be sure and create a back up before you wipe/ then install zips

chery2k meant was to put the .zip file on your SD card and install from cwm:good:Looking at your 1st post your problem seems to be a status 7 error this sometimes is associated with a bad download problem or with cwm or sometimes reading your device ro.build.product.If you are still having problems I would suggest downloading again which I think you tried but I would also try a different kernel that is compatible with cm9.
Your problem does not seem to be how you are flashing but what you are flashing :good:Just make sure you flash your kernel of choice first followed by your rom cm9

I unlocked my bootloader through sonys website. I just wana make sure I understand correctly. In addition to flashing the img file that's in the cm9 folder I needless to flash a kernel. I was only flashing the cm9s . img file and was using the recove
ry image cmnd
to enter cwm.

Help:Is this a bootloop?

I unlocked my bootloader via omnius, installed doomkernel and rebooted with no problem, then from recovery did a wipe cache/dalvik and then installed Arconium 8.1
Now i cant get passed the doomkernel startup image, it just freezes there and i have to remove the battery. I also cant access recovery.
Im on baseband 64, had Team Stock Rom installed, and used CWM Auto-Installer 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2. (these were installed while bootloader was locked)
Do you know how to use fast boot? If so I would suggest you use the kernel provided with arconium 8.1 .
Open a cmd window easiest way is to browse to the location where fastoot is located, paste the kernel usually called boot.img in the same folder hold the shift key on your keyboard and press right click and select open command window here. Shut down your phone and then while holding the menu key on your phone plug in the USB cable. Then in the command prompt type fastboot flash boot boot.img
It should show that the kernel was flashed and you can try and start your phone again.
Good luck
Just did that and still it freezes on doomkernel start up image... im desperate
I think the key to the problem is that I had a CWM recovery installed only for stock fw, and I installed arconium on it.
yeah "CWM Auto-Installer 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2" it is!! stock only..
I know that, but what I need is a solution. Im downloading a prerooted .62 fw, is there any other way to solve this without flashing?
Doom kernel should come pre loaded with cwm, but make sure the one ur using is arconium 8.1 because If your using the wrong kernel your phone will not boot.
Just clarify a boot loop is usually a loop of what ever logos repeating over and over so for example if I was having a boot loop in cm9 I would see the freexperia logo than the cm9 logo then freexperia logo again.

Boot into recovery mode...WIPE DALVIK CACHE...REBOOT IN RECOVERY...
Delete data/partition....del Cache...REBOOT IN RECOVERY
And then install the zip from SD card....
Lemme know if this helps...
Good day
lol... I had the same exactly the same problem when instaliing arconium 8.1.
I just couldnt find out what to do....
so I just restored a backup using CWM

Help installing FXP 129 on R800a

So I'm trying to get FXP129 cm9 working on my r800a and im having some issues. I flashed back to stock rom and then updated it, put the fxp zip on my sd card and flash the kernel. Here's where my problem starts. upon reboot I get nothing, no fxp no recovery just a blank screen. If I pull the battery I can get into fastboot or flash mode to get back to stock but I can't get fxp booting. I think it may be because I haven't updated the baseband but I can't figure out which baseband I should use for my phone based on the options available in the thread. If someone could go to the thread below or tell me which baseband I need and how to upgrade it (I assume using flashtool) I'd be grateful. My phone would be zeus on their codename list.
I'd have posted this in the fxp thread but I don't have 10 posts so I can't post there.

this just exactly what had happened to me a few days ago, and now i'm enjoying my cm9 perfectly, only little glitch
here you go, in my case i downloaded the wrong file and input the wrong command in fastboot mode
you can download the file here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783422 , extract and put the file into your fastboot folder, and put the zip file and gapps file into your sd card
then type this if you have opened fastboot windows command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
then, fastboot flash reboot to reboot your phone
now you've flashed the fxp kernel!
next, go into the recovery mode after rebooting and cyanogenmod logo show up, keep pressing volume down button
if you're there, then you need to wipe data factory. wipe cache and dalvik cache
afterwhile install the zip file and gapps file and wait til you're new look xperia play be born again
hope this'll help
You sir, are wonderful. Thank you so much!

[HOWTO] ONE V how to revert back to Stock ROM

I have recent version of One V gotten from Virgin Mobile during the cyber Monday sale. I really wanted to try jellybean so I tried AOKP cdma (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1878994)
I used All-In-One Tool Kit by hasoon2000 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676686) first to unlock and flash recovery. It has a video on how to use it too. vey nice.
Then I flash the AOKP 11/19 nightly rom but something was not right, it was booting OK but every 20~30 seconds, the phone rebooted itself. They say recent One V with the OTA update experiences this symtoms.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The solution is to go back to stock rom.
Pre requirements which are already available if you downloaded All-In-One Tool
1. HTC drivers are installed
2. Android SDK installed
The way to go back to stock rom is to use RUU (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591059)
For the virgin mobile USA CDMA, you can download
"RUU_PRIMO_C_ICS_40A_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.08.652.6_Radio_1.00.00.0521_2_NV_VM_3.46_0503_PRL61008_release_262414_signed.exe"
Make sure you download the correct RUU. Otherwise , you will break your phone !
Execute the RUU executable and go to temp folder by typing %temp% in your explorer window. It will create two temporay folders with long names. Once the wizard screen appears, one of the folders contains another long named folder that contains 'rom.zip' file. Copy the 'rom.zip' file into the directory where 'fastboot.exe' is located. You can close the RUU wizard screen now.
This is the full temp path for me.
C:\Users\%windows7_userid%\AppData\Local\Temp\{8AB121A4-D261-43DF-A709-93BCAAEE61DB}\{50F2F878-636A-496F-A7CB-544C067E0C4B}
Boot the phone into bootloader (power off, hold down volume and press power) and highlight FASTBOOT using the volume rocker and pressing power. Then connect the USB cable. You should see FASTBOOT USB.
Now execute below commands from the CMD window from the directory where the fastboot.exe is located.
Code:
fastboot oem lock
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip rom.zip
Then reboot normally to see your Stock rom !
After that, I reflashed the AOKP 11/19 nightly rom, and now it is working like a charm! I love it!.
See my phone with jellybean! Note that AOKP 11/19 is pretty stable, video recording is working good , but with minor graphic glitches time to time. The glitches occurs and disappears right away, so it's not a big deal.
I followed your instructions and was able to revert to the stock rom. The problem now is that ClockWorkMod recovery no longer work and I can't reflashed the AOKP rom. When I try, the phone displays a processing icon and then a red triangle with an exclamation mark. That's when I have to hold down the power bottun to shutdown manually. I can still boot into bootloader though.
I tried going through the steps to install recovery.img again but somewhere/somehow as the cmd are executed I see a line that says failed.
Do you have any idea what's causing the problem?

Hello, Basically processing icon with red triangle shows when you go into recovery mode with the stock rom.
what happens is that we have to lock the phone to install the stock rom to work properly ( This commands locked the phone --> fastboot oem lock )
So you have to perform the unlock and flash the recovery again after reverting to the stock rom . Try the ALL IN ONE Tool kit.
Basically when flashing your recovery to clockworkmod and then installing aokp (for the one v) download a seperate boot.img which is in the topic because the one included in the AOKP zip caused mine to lock up as well. Once you flash boot.img with one of the newest (CM10 bla blabla) it was ok for me.

I tried the fastboot oem unlock command and also reflash the recovery using the All In One Tool Kit but was unsuccessful. What am I doing wrong?
I have included attachments of the cmd screen to give you more context to what is happening.
Thanks Tomskii for the advice and will keep it in mind when choosing rom but my current problem is that I am unable to access the CWM recovery to flash any rom.
What happen was I flashed to the CM10 rom but it kept rebooting after few seconds.
Multiple xda post says to revert to an earlier stock rom to fix the RADIO version.
I am now in the current position:
stock rom with RADIO 1.00.00.0521_2(Which I believe is correct)
No access to CWM recovery from Hboot screen
fastboot oem unlock cmd is not executing
All In One not able to flash recovery or boot in recovery

It looks like the phone is not unlocked.
Enable the USB debugging under the developer option setting then perform the tasks by running "One V 1.2.exe"
then follow step 1 through 5 to unlock your stock rom phone.
then your flash recovery command would not fail.

Ok decided to use TWRP b/c the All-In-One has it for CDMA and now able to access recovery. Yay. Thanks nurungji.
Next I tried to reflash CM10 version 20121108, along with Gapps and the steps I did before the stock rom like clear cache and boot.img from the zip.
But now when I reboot, the phone is stuck on the CyanogenMod load screen. I waited over 10 mins before I shutdown manually. Before the earlier stock rom, I was able to go to the "register google account" screen before the phone rebooted.
I tried to redo the whole process again like some said on other threads but keep getting the same result. I also tried the AOKP 12/05 but got a black screen.
Any advice would be appreciated.
**Update**
Took about the whole day but finally everything is working properly. The boot.img from the Tomskii didn't work. Maybe b/c it was from a PrimoU Aokp page and my phone is PrimoC.
It is currently using supersick kernel from simonsimons34. It solves the wifi problem for the CM10 version 12/20.

Hey congratulation, you are almost there. I am not sure about CM10 mod because I didn't try CM10 because the video recording didn't work at the time I was looking to try Jellybean. So I decided to use AOKP but anything after 11/19 nightly version shows just black screen ( I tried every night version)
I am currently using 11/19 version now.

[Q] [HELP][Xperia S]Struck with many problems on my Xperia S while flashing CM10

Hi All,
First of all, Thanks to XDA and FreeXperia project. You guys are doing great.
Problem Description:
Initially my phone had a Genuine ICS 4.04 from Sony Xperia [build 6.1.A.2.55]. I heard about CM10 and Jelly Bean 4.1.2 for Xperia S and I wanted to try it out.
So, at first, for unlocking the bootloader, I followed a few procedures suggested in XDA forums about Xperia S and Youtube videos on how to root it and so, I was able to unlock it successfully.
Next while flashing(This is where I made a mistake) , I downloaded FXP202-cm-10-20130110-UNOFFICIAL-anzu.zip from FreeXperia project site.
I pushed the FXP202-cm-10-20130110-UNOFFICIAL-anzu.zip to sdcard.
I flashed boot.img, but the flash didnt succeed.
Later I figured out that I had to download FXP202-cm-10-20130110-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi.zip. The LT26i was a.k.a "nozomi".
I flashed boot.img now again which is from FXP202-cm-10-20130110-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi.zip, then I could see the FreeXpria Logo and purple light on top. I pressed vol up to enter recovery mode.
But, now the zip image in sdcard is FXP202-cm-10-20130110-UNOFFICIAL-anzu.zip. So, I cannot flash that.
Is there anyway for me to copy the FXP202-cm-10-20130110-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi.zip file in my PC to a location in sdcard of phone so that I can point to it during the recovery mode or during fastboot mode, to take it and flash it ??
Is there anyway for me to completely redo the whole set of procedures, putting my phone to a sane state, fully working state with old 4.04 running on it ??
Later, adding to the list of risks, I tried the below command to flash all the contents in the FXP202-cm-10-20130110-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi.zip file after all the above procedures.
" fastboot flash system FXP202-cm-10-20130110-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi.zip "
I see that it succeeds in flashing too, but didnt boot up.
Help me to proceed now.

[Q] Stuck in Boot Loop After trying to Root with XDA

Hello All
I do hope someone can guide me through the process of getting me out of this logo boot loop on my HTC One X.
I know now i was stupid and not to back up the phone.
I unlocked the boot loader ok with HTC DEV.
Then had a look at rooting. I then went to this site which said it the file package came from XDA.
knowyourmobile.com/htc/htc-one/17426/how-root-your-htc-one-x
(And I did not read the comments at the bottom of the page on that website)
Now I am stuck in a Logo Boot Loop. I can still connect the phone to a computer.
But I do need some help with a step by step guide to see if i can get my phone working again.
I have put up some photos.
Thank you in Advance:fingers-crossed:
Dont panic..
You will get your phone working again..
Download a custom rom from the forum. Boot your phone in recovery mount sd card and copy the rom on sd card..
Than flash the custom rom and flash its kernel using fastboot..
You will be good to go...

Thankyou Star for the reply.
I am grateful for your help with my problem,
would you be able to help me with a step by step guide on how to do the above, or point me in the right direction on the forum.
(There are so many people saying different things)
Being new to this is a bit nerve racking,
But I do not want to make a mistake and make it worse.
Thankyou.:fingers-crossed:

CWM.. v5.8.4.0
TWRP..v2.6.3.0
I tried to unzip the new rom from sd card with TWRP but can not use the touch screen to use the app.
When I use the CWM to unzip the rom ..when it says install YES can not use touch screen.
Maybe there is a custom rom and kernel out there where i can install from sd card only using the power. volume up down buttons.
This is the rom i put on sd card for my htc one x ( HTC_One_X_-_MaximusHD_21.0.0)
At this moment in time i have put CWM v5.8.4.0 on the phone.
This is the kernel (Kernel Flasher 21.0.0)
Do you think this is a lost cause to save my phone Star ? or shall we keep trying ?:fingers-crossed:

JUST to add one more thing that might help... The website I used to root the phone ..It says the ADB file is out of date.
So you mean to say that when you boot into recovery, your touch is working and as soon as you start to flash the rom, touch stops working ?
---------- Post added at 12:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:29 AM ----------
1) First copy the rom zip file on your pc, extract boot.img file from it.
2) copy the rom zip file to root of your internal sd card
3) boot phone into fastboot using power+vol down
4) flash boot.img and erase cache from fastboot
5) boot into recovery and see if touch is working ?

Flash Philz recovery 5.15.9 and everything will work tuch mount SD card everything what you need from recovery. After this flash boot.img from fastboot and then the rom from recovery
Thankyou Thant for some help.
But i had got back to stock rom with the help from Star before i read your post.
TOP TOP people
I followed your instructions in the last post you sent.. Then rebooted....IT'S ALIVE. I now have a rooted phone . But still has the stock rom.
Not too sure if I want to unzip the new rom Star. Just in case something goes wrong. But with some help I'm sure I can do.
The whole purpose of getting a custom rom was to stop the over heating of my battery\drain and the preparing sim card.
If you know of a good custom rom that could solve the battery issue\preparing sim card , maybe better wifi.
A big Thank you goes out to Star.:good::good:
Hey its perfectly ok...
Yes you can flash a custom rom easily. First you will have to decide which Rom you would like to flash. Read the topics of all roms and choose.. There is no such thing as best rom.. its what you want.. i can recommend viperX rom as i am using it for a long time now..
