Hello,
I used to hold the button on my mic for a time when cycling to launch "google voice dialer" but now that I've uploade my software it doesnt work anymore. the common functions as play/pause/skip track are still working so i guess It is not the headphone. I could double tap the home key button to lauch the google voice dialer but still doesnt work.
Could anyonee help me out?
Thanks

Hi All,
Installed the updated Mod keyboard (v27) and now whenever I long press the search key and Google voice search comes up it gives me a notification sound on completion of the search or a different one if cancelled.
These are not the stock HTC notification sounds - shorter, just a couple of notes.
It didn't do this with v25, though I am not sure it is a keyboard issue as the defaults go when updated.
I CANNOT find how to stop this - not in keyboard setting, web settings, sound settings, not anywhere.
First - do you have the sound? Long press the key (the physical key with mag glass on) and make a voice search. Does it sound when it completes? Or if you cancel?
Second, do you know how to mute it or delete it?
Nobody gets the beep sounds?
Everybody gets the beep sounds?
Somebody press the button and tell me if it plays a tone!
There has to be somebody out there who has voicesearch and can find 5 secs to press the button and tell me if it sounds a tone when you press cancel.
Apparently not. Maybe its the world cup
It sounds like a soft cricket for me. Kinda like Dzz.
So it does appears on your install of the voice app?
Peculiar. It first appeared when I updated the keyboard app, not when I updated the voice app. I've rolled back to earlier versions of both, but it still is there. Could it be direct from google somehow? I wish I could turn it off (can only be done by muting the speaker.)
My media volume is set to 12/15, system volume is 6/7, ringer is 6/7, and I could baaarely hear it.
So I have a motorola roadster, whenever I hit the smart button it pulls up the samsung voice command. It is annoying because it tells me how many missed calls I have every time whether I have checked them or not. I have to completely delete them from my history to make it stop. It also doesnt always immediatwly listen when I press the button, sometimes it just loads the app and I have to press it again. I would like to switch it with the basic google voice search where just the microphone pops up. Anyone know of a way to change what the bluetooth button does?
I want to be able to use my bluetooth call button to activate either voice search or any other voice assistant. When I press the button on either of my two bluetooth devices I get the error "Voice calling not supported." Is there a fix or workaround for this? I have searched with no luck.
Update: I found if I freeze the mobile data system app, then pressing the bluetooth call button will launch Skype. If I then freeze skype, the bluetooth call button will have a FC message saying "Bluetooth Share has stopped." I am assuming there has to be some way to get jelly bean to be able to give me a choice for launching an app for the bluetooth button, but the methods I have tried that worked before for my Verizon S3 do not work on the new Nexus 7. Does anyone have any success using the bluetooth call button on their 2013 Nexus 7?
No one knows anything about this?
Hi!
Sometimes I use my OnePlus Icons headset (metal headset, https://www.androidcentral.com/oneplus-icons-earbuds-review) with the phone, and when I push the volume up button it triggers the google assistant, which is very very annoying...
I tried some remapper apps but when I want to add the button, I push the button and it triggers the google assistant and the app doesn't manage to find the button.
Anyone got a solution to avoid the google assistant besides deactivating google assistant? Not even sure how to deactivate it so can't really test it and see if the remapper app works. An idea would be to deactivate it and check the logs to see if there is indeed a button, but when I check I can't see a button, just see :
mStatusBarWindow : com.android.systemui.statusbar.phone.StatusBarWindowViews{28ebb7dV.ED..... ....... 0,0-1440,171}canPanelBeCollapsed(): false
writeEvent dismiss_dialog volume_controller
So it seems like it's normal, that it closes the volume rocker and launches the google assistant window...
Thanks for your help!

I am using a Pixel 4a (running on Android 11) and I have the same problem when I use my SoundMagic E11C wired headset. When I press the volume up button on the headset, it triggers the Google Assistant instead of increasing the volume. The volume down button on the headset works perfectly. The play/pause headset button also works fine.
What is very weird is that this headset works fine on all the other phones that I have tried. I have an old SoundMagic E11C wired headset and it works fine my Pixel 4a. In other words, the particular combination of my new Pixel 4a and new SoundMagic E11C does not work. However, every other combination with these devices and the other devices/headsets that I have work fine.
I can't even pinpoint whether it is an issue on my phone or on my headset. I disabled Google Assistant for my headset and tried again. Still doesn't work. Volume up does not trigger any response if Google Assistant is disabled. It is almost as if the volume up button is hardwired exclusively for Google Assistant. Which is impossible.
I also checked the logs using logcat. When volume down is pressed, I see some logs that indicate that media volume has been decreased. However, when volume up is pressed, I don't see any logs related to volume.
I have no idea what the problem is. I can try replacing the headset, but I don't think that is gonna solve the issue.
Did you ever figure out what the problem was with your phone/headset?
Hello everyone
I've been struggling for a few hours now... to get my voice button on the headset to activate Google assistance.
At first it opened Svoice then i tried all sort of programs like Bluetooth launcher and Hint2Search, also checked out every possible options on the phone/google/plt hub (the plantronic app).
And the best result I've gotten so far is the launch of Google now (which is different from assistant)
So as you may have guessed, my question is how do I get google assistant on (same as when i hold my home button) when i hold my headset button.
[Samsung Galaxy S7 edge // Android 8.0.0]
Any help is very appreciated,
Have a good day

red button on boom
the way to activate Google Voice is by pressing the red button on the mic boom. Its not the button you use to answer calls. It is also the mute button.
