HCT Desire Bricked? HTC logo and 4 exclamation marks

Hello everyone,

have you tried to press back button and then power to enter fastboot?

i did...but nothing happen

I have had then when i messed up rooting my phone, its not bricked. your recovery is messed up, follow this guide

if step 2 does not do anything then just hold volume down and power then navigate to recovery.
keep trying till you can boot recovery it will work, thats what i did

Did you try running the RUU update while you are in this mode?
The USB port should be in hboot-usb mode.

im trying to Rooting but failure in step1

I had exactly the same thing when I try to root, just root again using Modaco's steps, then when you are done, a strange logo will appear, and for me it went back to stock 1.15 software.

I had a test step1 you told me..but still blank and the output :
"Erasing cache and rebooting in RUU mode..."
<waiting for device>
and have no access to bootloader or recovery!!

Did you ever manage to fix your Desire? If you did, then how did you do it?
I have the same problem and am tearing out what little hair I have.
Any help would be appreciated.

I figured out a fix
If you haven't already fixed your Desire, then after some trial and error I came up with this fix (post #5) that worked for me.

Xperia SL won't start up after installing custom ROM

So I flashed the eXistenZ BLACK Edition V1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271613 and now my phone won't start up. It seems pretty much dead. It vibrates though but I get no activity on the display. Help?

I think You have downgraded Your phone thus leading to brick. Try rebooting in fastboot mode and installing stock firmware ftf using using flashtool.

Hi. We're the same problem.
I am a newbie of this stuff but I think my phone is Already DEAD
After I installed the "CanGalaxyS4ROM.zip" ,
And I'ts says "Complete Installing", Then I "REBOOT"
But theres nothing appears in my phone until now!
And I do anything. I pop In & Out the Battery , I recovery mode
But there's nothing happen! What should I do?
Anyone can help to fix my phone

Can You provide the link to the ROM You installed? Because I don't remember Xperia S having a ROM with such a name.

[Q] I think I completely bricked (?) my phone[SOLVED]

I recently picked up the Z1 Compact, and since it was pretty easy to root and customize I dived into those sorts of things for the first time. For a while I had Cyanogenmod and made a back up and left it on my SD card. Later when the easy root method came out I switched back to stock. I installed dual recovery and made a back up. Some time later ,using my ever so careful brain, I tried to flash my Cyanogenmod back up instead of the stock back up. This leads me to where I am now. Can't get my phone into flash mode. When I hold down the power button it vibrates but nothing else. When I plug the phone into a power source it just keeps flashing a red notification light. I would really appreciate some help in fixing my phone, thank you.

Oh wow that helps so much. I guess my googling skills were not on point when I first tried to find a solution. My phone is completely fine now.

If you bricked it the same way I did as described above, just try to enter flashmode and flash a stock ftf using Flashtool , the page linked shows you how.

[Q] Unable to boot into recovery mode with rooted Z1 Compact...?

Hi guys,
Hope you're all well and enjoying the weekend! First off, i have googled and searched my ass off,but still can't find a solution for this. Basically my Z1 Compact will not bot into recovery mode. I used the EasyRoot tool yesterday, which appears to have worked fine. I then installed SUperSU and ROM Manager which also seemed to work fine. So, as I want to install the 4k and 120fps recording mod I then of course went to boot into recovery mode to deox my ROM...
...and no joy. I literally cannot get it to boot into recovery. I have tried:
, it just goesto the Xperia logo and then right into the normal boot process
Using ROM Manager option
Using Quick Boot app
Pressing Vol+ at boot (both by holding and clicking it repeatedly)
Dancing around the phone while singing
If anyone has any ideas I would be very, very grateful. I genuinely could find any a solution that helped when searching the forum. Thanks in advance.

Have you actually installed a recovery?, there is no stock one. It's a shame all your Googling didn't lead you to the stickys.

Ahhhh crap, that was indeed the missing piece of the puzzle. I genuinely didn't see it from my research, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

ok, sorry for the stupid question, but i'm also having the same issue. yesterday, after MUCH trial and tribulation (on a mac) was able to unlock the bootloader (per sony's recently published instructions) and then when i went to root the phone, could not boot into recovery mode to save my life. found this here, and of course there must not be a recovery partition on the phone, but how do i get one? i have googled and found many instructions but they are all for PC, which does me not good.
i did manage to instal SUperSU on the micro sd card which is seen by the phone.
i'm completely new at this, completely lost, completely frustrated, and using a mac to top it off. any help is GREATLY appreciated!!! i'm kind of dead in the water without it.

thank you!! i was able to get a recovery installed, but now the phone boots to the sony logo and then a black screen. i haven't been able to get much further, but i definitely can get to the recovery boot now, so thank you!!!!

Make sure you flash the right files for the right firmware, but at least you're a step further.

I bricked my LG G3 D855

Hey guys,
So I was screwing around with some Cyanogenmod ROMs on my LG G3, but after installing a snapshot cm12, the Phone won't boot up anymore.
I can't access TWRP, download mode, recovery mode, I can press all the buttons but nothing happens, the battery is 100% when I installed CM so that's not the problem.
I think it is bricked, but maybe you guys can help me, first time this happened to me.

Thanks for responding, if the warranty doesn't replace my phone I'll try this, I think it's too tricky trying that.
