Caan you post a link to this? I tried searching and market and cannot find it ?

It's not in the market. I found an apk here on xda by searching on Google for it. I forget which thread, but I didn't like it. It's still in beta though

I got this link signed_Flexo.apk - 29.90 MB[/URL. From somewhere here on xda. Sorry but I can't find the right post I found it in I have looked in so many lol. So far its not bad but its got a ways to go. No auto punctuation no auto capitalization after a period and if it chooses a word for you then that's the word you get, no correction bar choose yourself. Big one for me is no period in main keyboard, but it is a beta afterall.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium

I just downloaded that .apk and installed and went into language and input in settings and choose it. There are a few .apks that wont work, I think I tried 4 or 5 before I found the one linked to that worked.

I spent most of the afternoon yesterday getting it working & testing it out on my note & it's pretty cool, but far from ready. It does have correction, by sliding up or down after you type the word. You can cycle through all the possible suggestions by sliding down for next, or up for previous.
Punctuation is done with two swipes to the right, and the symbol keyboard comes up with a swipe up from the bottom right. It's very simplistic, even to the point that you can hide the spacebar & just slide for spaces or punctuation.
I had to use a modded version because the original beta authenticates via device & email address. I'll put the version i found up if anyone wants to try.

has anyone been able to download any language files?
it seems the download capability is broken. I couldn't download any language files or dragon feature.
p.s.
Downloading works but it just needs some time.
Downloading the additional languages seems a little buggy. Sometimes the option completely disappears from the menus( even whilst being connected to wifi the whole time). It's not a conclusive method of getting the menu option back but I think running the swype setup/installer app when swype is already installed seemed to bring it back for me. Then several times when opening the download languages menu it sat with the loading twirly for ages and ages.
Also when finally getting the list of languages and downloading my desired language, the downloading was fairly fast but installing took ages.
What was also funny was swype had defaulted to Spanish when I first downloaded it and I was wondering why it's predictions had become so seemingly odd....

You can't. It's the way you change keyboard in ICS (except stock keyboard which is long press space).
The norification will stay there unless Swype implements the ICS way to change keyboard.
I'm using Swype whole mounth. build that I found works perfectly in my g nexus.
I can give apk if somebody wants. Also it supports lots of languages.

(Its soo hard) Compared to my other samsung phone
It's so confusing with all the drivers and stuff. I wish i could just use ODIN because that's 100% easier.
I've never used swype, I don't know what features it offers, apart from ummmmm, swyping(?) but I'm using this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cootek.smartinputv5&hl=en
Has the same type of thing, sliding your finger to write, and other features. I like it, find it good, but as i say I've never used swype, so can't compare. Sliding does take a bit of getting used to though...

you just have to practice. If you try and be super precise with Swype, you wind up losing a lot of time compared to just tapping everything out and letting the spell check handle it. Swype is certainly not perfect but I've been using it for about a year now and the only reason I go back to the aosp keyboard is the terminal, Swype acts weird on it...

Ok, how?
It would be personal preference if you ask me. I've tried all the ones that are offered on the Android store and still keep going back to Swype. The keyboard is great but the best feature that I find is that you can totally mess up a word and 9 times out of 10 Swype will pick the correct word or give you a choice of words with the word you were trying to type being 1st or in the first row of choices.
Installation is easy, just go to the website and follow there instructions, its a total walk through. :good:
Had Swype on my old Epic and my wife's LG Optimus S when she had it. Tried it again last night on my GNex and I can honestly say I like the stock keyboard better.
Like the previous poster stated......persoal preference.

and I can even swype without even looking at the screen now!!
But in my opinion, u can't do the same on a normal keyboard coz u cant feel the keys!!

Swype is good at spell correct but Swiftkey does predictions better than anyone. So while you are swyping all your letters, I just type one or two and hit space

+1 Swipping! I've been using it since the Windows Mobile 6 ages (HTC Touch Pro) and I can't use no other keyboard since then.
All about preference. I used to use swype beta, but have been using SwiftKey 3 for months and haven't looked back. That said, swiping is great, but I rarely type more than two letters before SwiftKey predicts my word.

To all the people pointing out that flow doesn't work in Google Search (or similar areas) and claim it's okay, let me remind you that with the 4.2 keyboard, swiping is available everywhere, even where predictions aren't. Just because some searches are not standard (e.g. dotson817), the vast majority of my searches are with English words.
Either the API for swiping anywhere is locked, or SwiftKey dropped the ball. Seeing as to how long this beta took to drop, I'm guessing the latter.

[APP] Fleksy Beta Apk Download Link

Here you go guys, Fleksy beta APK theoretically modded to worth with all phones, but tested on Galaxy Nexus! you're welcome
"Fleksy is a revolutionary technology, which makes typing text on a touch-screen easy.
Ever dreamt of an auto-correct system powerful enough to work even when you don’t look at the screen? Enter, Fleksy.
Used today by thousands of blind and visually impaired users to type faster and easier than many sighted people, Fleksy is set to revolutionize the way people think about mobile devices and to challenge the traditional barriers in touch-screen typing for everyone.
Featuring Syntellia’s patent pending technologies, Fleksy uses the familiar QWERTY layout, coupled with probably the most powerful text prediction engine out there.
Tap typing, re-invented.
How Fleksy works
Fleksy allows users to type text on the familiar keyboard layout, by tapping on the screen. Our patent pending technology does not need accuracy – just tap on the screen and Fleksy will automatically detect the text you meant to enter – even if you have missed every single key.
It is like nothing you have used before.

Been dying for this, thanks!
I've also been waiting a long time for the beta, already run into an issue.. There's no way to choose to manually enter information. It's always guessing what I am typing. For example, I cannot, for the life of me, type the word "I'd" If I type "I" then "d", it autocorrects to "of" If I type "I" then hit "#" to go the the punctuation, hit the " ' " and then back to the keyboard to hit the "d", it changes it to an "a", so reads "I'a"
EDIT: So once you type a word, downswiping will scroll between the different suggestions. Still took ~4 to choose "I'd" even though those were two letters I'd typed, maybe it should prioritize different words based on letters Ive entered.
I'd also like to see more punctuation longpress options, and an ability to choose longpress duration
EDIT 2: Seems that there is no way to choose to add words, wonder if this will change?
One of the worst keyboards ive ever tried

Here's a link to the FAQ/Manual for Fleksy, though I think it's the iOS version, because it states that you can right swipe a word to add it to the user dictionary, though that doesn't seem to function for me on Android. And the load time is part of the app, I think, no matter the version, beta or not. I believe it's updating the dictionary each time?
I'm a bit peeved this isn't so great. I'm also miffed that there's no public forum for providing feedback. Anyone who has official beta access have a way of sharing feedback and suggestions with the devs?

The only keyboard that I know of with the number row on top is the note2 keyboard. You can download it (or try nearly every other one) from the ported apps link in my sig. I dont even know of any like that in the play store either.
Ok, sorry, PK doesn't have it as a default option. I was thinking of the arrow keys. However, you can edit the punctuation in the suggestion bar to be numbers instead of punctuation. Only drawback is when you are typing a word it shows suggestions instead. Or you could turn that feature off.
